5 HGLT अब व्यवस्था में तो मूसा ने हमें ऐसे लोगों पर पत्थरवाह करने का आदेश दिया है, परन्तु तू अभी क्या कहता है?” BSB BSB: In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such a woman. So what do You say?”
6 HGLT परन्तु यीशु झुककर,{ अपनी} उंगली से भूमि पर लिखने लगा। BSB BSB: They said this to test Him, in order to have a basis for accusing Him. But Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with His finger.
7 HGLT परन्तु जब वे उससे लगातार प्रश्न पूछते ही रहे, तो वह खड़ा हुआ और उनसे कहा,“तुम्हारे बीच में से जिस व्यक्ति ने पाप नहीं किया हो, वही उस पर पहला पत्थर फेंके।” BSB BSB: When they continued to question Him, He straightened up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to cast a stone at her.”

13 HGLT तब फरीसियों ने उससे कहा,“तू तो स्वयं अपनी गवाही देता है; तेरी गवाही सच्ची नहीं है।” BSB BSB: So the Pharisees said to Him, “You are testifying about Yourself; Your testimony is not valid.”
14 HGLT यीशु ने उत्तर दिया और उनसे कहा,“यहाँ तक कि यदि मैं अपने बारे में गवाही भी दूँ, तो मेरी गवाही सच्ची है। क्योंकि मैं जानता हूँ कि मैं कहाँ से आया हूँ और मैं कहाँ जा रहा हूँ, परन्तु तुम नहीं जानते कि मैं कहाँ से आया हूँ या मैं कहाँ जा रहा हूँ। BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is valid, because I know where I came from and where I am going. But you do not know where I came from or where I am going.
15 HGLT तुम शरीर के अनुसार न्याय करते हो; मैं किसी का न्याय नहीं करता। BSB BSB: You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one.
16 HGLT परन्तु यहाँ तक कि यदि मैं न्याय भी करूँ, तो मेरा न्याय सच्चा है, क्योंकि मैं अकेला नहीं, परन्तु मैं और पिता साथ हैं जिसने मुझे भेजा है। BSB BSB: But even if I do judge, My judgment is true, because I am not alone; I am with the Father who sent Me.
17 HGLT परन्तु यहाँ तक कि तुम्हारी व्यवस्था में यह लिखा हुआ है कि दो मनुष्यों की गवाही सच्ची होती है। BSB BSB: Even in your own Law it is written that the testimony of two men is valid.
18 HGLT एक मैं हूँ जो अपने बारे में गवाही देता है, और पिता जिसने मुझे भेजा है वह भी मेरे बारे में गवाही देता है।” BSB BSB: I am One who testifies about Myself, and the Father, who sent Me, also testifies about Me.”

22 HGLT तब यहूदियों ने कहा,“कहीं वह स्वयं की हत्या तो नहीं करेगा, क्या वह करेगा? क्या इसी कारण से वह कहता है,‘जहाँ मैं जाता हूँ, वहाँ तुम नहीं आ सकते।’?” BSB BSB: So the Jews began to ask, “Will He kill Himself, since He says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?”
23 HGLT और उसने उनसे कहा,“तुम नीचे की वस्तुओं के हो; मैं ऊपर की वस्तुओं का हूँ। तुम इस संसार के हो; मैं इस संसार का नहीं हूँ। BSB BSB: Then He told them, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.
24 HGLT इसी कारण से, मैंने तुम से कहा था कि तुम अपने पापों में मरोगे। क्योंकि जब तक तुम विश्वास नहीं करते कि मैं वही हूँ, तो तुम अपने पापों में मरोगे।” BSB BSB: That is why I told you that you would die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
25 HGLT अतः, उन्होंने उससे कहा,“तू है कौन?” यीशु ने उनसे कहा,“जो मैं आरम्भ से ही जो तुम से कह रहा था। BSB BSB: “Who are You?” they asked. “Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied.
26 HGLT मेरे पास तुम्हारे विषय में बोलने के लिए और न्याय करने के लिए बहुत सी बातें हैं। परन्तु जिसने मुझे भेजा है वह सच्चा है; और जो बातें मैंने उससे सुनी हैं, वही बातें मैं संसार से कहता हूँ।” BSB BSB: “I have much to say about you and much to judge. But the One who sent Me is truthful, and what I have heard from Him, I tell the world.”
27 HGLT (वे समझ नहीं पाए कि वह उनसे पिता के बारे में बातें कर रहा था।) BSB BSB: They did not understand that He was telling them about the Father.
28 HGLT तब यीशु ने उनसे कहा,“जब तुम मनुष्य के पुत्र को ऊँचे पर चढ़ाओगे, तब तुम जानोगे कि मैं वही हूँ, और यह कि मैं स्वयं से कुछ भी नहीं करता। परन्तु जैसा पिता ने मुझे सिखाया है, मैं इन बातों को बोलता हूँ। BSB BSB: So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing on My own, but speak exactly what the Father has taught Me.

32 HGLT और तुम सत्य को जानोगे, और वही सत्य तुम को स्वतंत्र करेगा।” BSB BSB: Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
33 HGLT उन्होंने उसे प्रतिउत्तर दिया,“हम तो अब्राहम के वंशज हैं और कभी भी किसी के दास नहीं हुए हैं; तो तू कैसे कह सकता है,‘तुम स्वतंत्र किए जाओगे’?” BSB BSB: “We are Abraham’s descendants,” they answered. “We have never been slaves to anyone. How can You say we will be set free?”
34 HGLT यीशु ने उनको उत्तर दिया,“मैं तुम से सच- सच कहता हूँ कि हर एक जन जो पाप करता है वह पाप का दास है। BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
35 HGLT अब दास तो घर में सदाकाल तक बना नहीं रहता; पुत्र सदाकाल तक बना रहता है। BSB BSB: A slave does not remain in the house forever, but a son remains forever.
36 HGLT इसलिए, यदि पुत्र तुम को स्वतंत्र करता है, तो तुम वास्तव में स्वतंत्र हो जाओगे। BSB BSB: So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
37 HGLT मैं जानता हूँ कि तुम अब्राहम के वंशज हो, परन्तु तुम मेरी हत्या करने की खोज में इसलिए हो, क्योंकि तुम्हारे भीतर मेरे वचन को कोई स्थान नहीं मिलता। BSB BSB: I know you are Abraham’s descendants, but you are trying to kill Me because My word has no place within you.
38 HGLT मैं वही बोलता हूँ जो मैंने मेरे पिता के साथ देखा है; और इसी कारण से, तुम भी वही करते हो जो तुम अपने पिता से सुनते हो।” BSB BSB: I speak of what I have seen in the presence of the Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”
39 HGLT उन्होंने उत्तर दिया और उससे कहा,“अब्राहम हमारा पिता है।” यीशु उनसे कहता है,“यदि तुम अब्राहम की संतान होते, तो तुम अब्राहम के कामों को भी करते। BSB BSB: “Abraham is our father,” they replied. “If you were children of Abraham,” said Jesus, “you would do the works of Abraham.
40 HGLT परन्तु अब तुम मेरी हत्या करने की खोज में हो, अर्थात उस मनुष्य की जिसने तुम को वह सत्य बताया जो मैंने परमेश्वर से सुना है। अब्राहम ने तो ऐसा नहीं किया था। BSB BSB: But now you are trying to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham never did such a thing.
41 HGLT तुम अपने पिता के कामों को ही करते हो।” फिर उन्होंने उससे कहा,“हम ने यौन अनैतिकता में जन्म नहीं लिया; हमारा एक ही पिता है: अर्थात परमेश्वर।” BSB BSB: You are doing the works of your father.” “We are not illegitimate children,” they declared. “Our only Father is God Himself.”
42 HGLT यीशु ने उनसे कहा,“यदि परमेश्वर तुम्हारा पिता होता, तो तुम मुझ से प्रेम करते, क्योंकि मैं परमेश्वर के पास से आया हूँ और यहाँ पर हूँ; क्योंकि मैं स्वयं से तो नहीं आया, परन्तु उसने मुझे भेजा है। BSB BSB: Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on My own, but He sent Me.
43 HGLT किस कारण से तुम मेरी बातों को नहीं समझते? ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि तुम मेरी बातों को सुन नहीं सकते। BSB BSB: Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you are unable to accept My message.
44 HGLT तुम{ तुम्हारे} पिता, शैतान की ओर से हो, और तुम अपने पिता की इच्छाओं को पूरा करना चाहते हो। वह तो आरम्भ से ही हत्यारा था और सत्य में स्थिर इसलिए नहीं रहता, क्योंकि उसमें कोई सत्य है ही नहीं। जब वह कोई झूठ बोले, तो वह{ अपनी} स्वयं की{ प्रकृति} से ही बोलता है, क्योंकि वह तो झूठा है और उसका पिता भी है। BSB BSB: You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 HGLT परन्तु क्योंकि मैं सच बोलता हूँ, इसलिए तुम मेरा विश्वास नहीं करते। BSB BSB: But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me!
46 HGLT तुम में से कौन मुझे पाप का दोषी ठहराता है? यदि मैं सच बोलता हूँ, तो तुम मेरा विश्वास क्यों नहीं करते? BSB BSB: Which of you can prove Me guilty of sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe Me?
47 HGLT जो परमेश्वर से है वह परमेश्वर की बातों को सुनता है; इसी कारण से तुम नहीं सुनते, क्योंकि तुम परमेश्वर से नहीं हो।” BSB BSB: Whoever belongs to God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”
48 HGLT यहूदियों ने उत्तर दिया और उससे कहा,“क्या हम सच ही नहीं कहते कि तू एक समरी और तुझ में कोई दुष्टात्मा है?” BSB BSB: The Jews answered Him, “Are we not right to say that You are a Samaritan and You have a demon?”
49 HGLT यीशु ने उत्तर दिया,“मुझ में कोई दुष्टात्मा नहीं है, परन्तु मैं अपने पिता का सम्मान करता हूँ, और तुम मेरा अपमान करते हो। BSB BSB: “I do not have a demon,” Jesus replied, “but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.
50 HGLT अब मैं अपनी महिमा की खोज नहीं करता; कोई है जो खोज करता है और न्याय करता है। BSB BSB: I do not seek My own glory. There is One who seeks it, and He is the Judge.
51 HGLT मैं तुम से सच- सच कहता हूँ कि यदि कोई मेरे वचन का पालन करे, तो निश्चय ही वह अनन्तकाल तक मृत्यु को नहीं देखेगा।” BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, if anyone keeps My word, he will never see death.”
52 HGLT यहूदियों ने उससे कहा,“अब हम जान गए हैं कि तुझ में दुष्टात्मा है। अब्राहम और भविष्यद्वक्ता तो मर गए; परन्तु तू कहता है,‘यदि कोई मेरे वचन का पालन करे, तो निश्चय ही वह अनन्तकाल तक मृत्यु का स्वाद नहीं चखेगा।’ BSB BSB: “Now we know that You have a demon!” declared the Jews. “Abraham died, and so did the prophets, yet You say that anyone who keeps Your word will never taste death.
53 HGLT तू हमारे पिता अब्राहम से बढ़कर नहीं है जो मर गया, क्या तू है? भविष्यद्वक्ता भी मर गए। तू स्वयं को क्या ठहराता है?” BSB BSB: Are You greater than our father Abraham? He died, as did the prophets. Who do You claim to be?”

The One who glorifies Me is My Father, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’
