6 HGLT यदि कोई निर्दोष और एक ही पत्नी का पति हो, जिसके बच्चे विश्वास्योग्य हों, जिन पर लापरवाह व्यवहार या विद्रोह का दोष न हो। BSB BSB: An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, having children who are believers and who are not open to accusation of indiscretion or insubordination.
7 HGLT अध्यक्ष को इसलिए निर्दोष होना चाहिए क्योंकि परमेश्वर का भण्डारी है; न हठी, न आसानी से गुस्सा होने वाला, न पियक्कड़, न उपद्रवी, और न लोभी हो। BSB BSB: As God’s steward, an overseer must be above reproach—not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not greedy for money.
8 HGLT बल्कि, वह अतिथि- सत्कार करनेवाला, भलाई का चाहनेवाला, विवेकपूर्ण, धर्मी, पवित्र और संयमी हो; BSB BSB: Instead, he must be hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined.
9 HGLT वह विश्वसनीय सन्देश को जो शिक्षा के अनुसार है, थामे रहे; ताकि खरी शिक्षा से वह दो चीजें कर सके, दूसरों को उत्साहित; और जो उसका विरोध करते हैं, उन्हें डाँटें। BSB BSB: He must hold firmly to the faithful word as it was taught, so that he can encourage others by sound teaching and refute those who contradict it.

11 HGLT इनको रोकना ज़रूरी है: ये लोग शर्मनाक लाभ के लिये अनुचित बातें सिखाकर पूरे घरानों को बिगाड़ देते हैं। BSB BSB: who must be silenced. For the sake of dishonorable gain, they undermine entire households and teach things they should not.
13 HGLT यह गवाही सच है। इस कारण से, उन्हें कड़ाई से डांट, ताकि वे विश्वास में दृढ़ हो जाएँ, BSB BSB: This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sternly, so that they will be sound in the faith
14 HGLT न यहूदी कथा- कहानियों पर मन लगाएँ और नाहि उन मनुष्यों की आज्ञाओं पर जो सत्य से भटक जाते हैं। BSB BSB: and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of men who have rejected the truth.
15 HGLT शुद्ध लोगों के लिये सब वस्तुएँ शुद्ध हैं, पर अशुद्ध और अविश्वासियों के लिये कुछ भी शुद्ध नहीं वरन् उनकी बुद्धि और विवेक दोनों अशुद्ध है। BSB BSB: To the pure, all things are pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure. Indeed, both their minds and their consciences are defiled.
16 HGLT वे परमेश्वर को जानने का दावा करते हैं पर अपने कामों से उसका इन्कार करते हैं, क्योंकि वे घृणित और आज्ञा न माननेवाले हैं और किसी अच्छे काम के योग्य नहीं। BSB BSB: They profess to know God, but by their actions they deny Him. They are detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good deed.
