4 IEV यहोशापात यरूशलेम में रहता था, परन्तु जैसा उसने पहले एक बार किया था, वह दूर उत्तर में बेर्शेबा से ले कर दूर उत्तर में एप्रैम के पहाड़ी प्रदेश का भ्रमण करने निकला और प्रजा को प्रेरित किया कि वह उनके पूर्वजों के परमेश्वर यहोवा की आराधना में लौट आएँ। BSB BSB: Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem, and once again he went out among the people from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim and turned them back to the LORD, the God of their fathers.
5 IEV उसने यहूदा के सब शहरपनाह वाले नगरों में न्यायी नियुक्त कर दिए। BSB BSB: He appointed judges in the land, in each of the fortified cities of Judah.
6 IEV उसने उनसे कहा,“अपने निर्णय बड़ी सावधानी से लेना क्योंकि तुम मनुष्य को नहीं परमेश्वर यहोवा को प्रसन्न करने के लिए ऐसा करते हो। वह तुम्हारे हर एक निर्णय को सुनते हैं। BSB BSB: Then he said to the judges, “Consider carefully what you do, for you are not judging for man, but for the LORD, who is with you when you render judgment.
7 IEV इसलिए यहोवा का भय मानो। मुकद्दमों का निर्णय सुनाने में अत्याधिक सावधान रहना और सदा स्मरण रखो कि हमारे परमेश्वर यहोवा पक्षपात नहीं करते हैं और न ही घूँस लेते हैं।” BSB BSB: And now, may the fear of the LORD be upon you. Be careful what you do, for with the LORD our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.”
8 IEV यहोशापात ने यरूशलेम में भी कुछ याजकों को, कुछ लेवी के वंशजों को और कुछ इस्राएली अगुओं को न्यायी नियुक्त कर दिया। उसने उनसे कहा कि निर्णय सुनाते समय यहोवा के नियमों का पालन करते हुए उचित विचार करें। वे सब यरूशलेम में निवास करते थे। BSB BSB: Moreover, Jehoshaphat appointed in Jerusalem some of the Levites, priests, and heads of the Israelite families to judge on behalf of the LORD and to settle disputes. And they lived in Jerusalem.
9 IEV उसने उनसे कहा,“तुम निष्ठापूर्वक कार्य करो और यहोवा का सम्मान करो। BSB BSB: He commanded them, saying, “You must serve faithfully and wholeheartedly in the fear of the LORD.
10 IEV तुम्हारे नगरों में रहने वाले तुम्हारे इस्राएली भाई जब तुम्हारे सामने अपने मतभेद ले कर उपस्थित हों तब उन्हें चिता देना कि झूठ बोल कर यहोवा के विरुद्ध पाप न करें। मुकद्दमा चाहे कैसा भी हो, हत्या का हो, यहोवा के नियमों से सम्बन्धित हो, किसी आज्ञा या नियम से सम्बन्धित हो, सुनिश्चित करो कि यहोवा के दोषी न बनो नहीं तो यहोवा का प्रकोप तुम सब पर भड़क उठेगा। BSB BSB: For every dispute that comes before you from your brothers who dwell in their cities—whether it regards bloodshed or some other violation of law, commandments, statutes, or ordinances—you are to warn them, so that they will not incur guilt before the LORD and wrath will not come upon you and your brothers. Do this, and you will not incur guilt.
11 IEV प्रधान याजक अमर्याह यहोवा से सम्बन्धित सब मुकद्दमे देखेगा। और यहूदा के गोत्र का प्रधान, इश्माएल का पुत्र जबद्याह उन सब मुकद्दमों को देखेगा जो मुझसे सम्बन्धित है। और लेवी के वंशज सहयोग देंगे। साहस रख कर कार्य करो। मैं प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि यहोवा भला करने वालों का साथ दें।” BSB BSB: Note that Amariah, the chief priest, will be over you in all that pertains to the LORD, and Zebadiah son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all that pertains to the king. And the Levites will serve as officers before you. Act resolutely; may the LORD be with the upright!”
