3 IEV हम सदा अपने प्रभु यीशु मसीह के पिता परमेश्वर की स्तुति करते रहें- वही हम पर दया करते हैं और सदा हमें सांत्वना देते हैं। BSB BSB: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
4 IEV जब हम किसी भी कष्टदायक परीक्षा में होते हैं तो परमेश्वर हमें सांत्वना देते हैं। उनकी सांत्वना हमारे जीवन को स्वस्थ कर देती है जिससे हम उन लोगों को भी सांत्वना दे सकें जो कष्टों में हैं। BSB BSB: who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
5 IEV जैसा कि हम मसीह के कष्टों का अनुभव करते हैं, वैसे ही हम मसीह की सांत्वना का भी अनुभव करते हैं जिसे नापा नहीं जा सकता। BSB BSB: For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
6 IEV इसलिए जब भी हम दुखों का अनुभव करते हैं, तो ऐसा इसलिए होता है कि परमेश्वर तुमको शान्ति और उद्धार दें सकें। जब भी परमेश्वर हमें शान्ति देते हैं, तो ऐसा इसलिए होता है कि तुम और भी अधिक शान्ति प्राप्त कर सको, जिसके प्रभाव से तुम धीरज के साथ उन क्लेशों को सह लेते हो, जिन्हें हम भी सहते हैं। BSB BSB: If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which accomplishes in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we experience.
7 IEV हमारी आशा तुम्हारे विषय में दृढ़ है क्योंकि हम जानते हैं, कि तुम जैसे दुखों के वैसे ही शान्ति के भी सहभागी हो। BSB BSB: And our hope for you is sure, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you will share in our comfort.
8 IEV मेरे भाइयों और बहनों, हम चाहते हैं कि तुम आसिया के प्रान्त में हमारे क्लेश के विषय में जानो। उस क्लेश ने हमें ऐसी पीड़ा पहुँचाई कि हम उसे सहन नहीं कर सके। हमें तो निश्चय हो गया था कि हम मरने जा रहे थे। BSB BSB: We do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the hardships we encountered in the province of Asia. We were under a burden far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life.
9 IEV उन्होंने हमें मृत्यु दण्ड सुना दिया था; हम मारे जाने की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे थे। उस मृत्यु दण्ड ने हमें सिखाया कि हम अपनी शक्ति पर नहीं, परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रखें, जो मरे हुओं को जीवित करते हैं और उन्हें जीवन में वापस लाते हैं। BSB BSB: Indeed, we felt we were under the sentence of death, in order that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God, who raises the dead.
10 IEV परन्तु परमेश्वर ने हमें मृत्यु के ऐसे बड़े संकट से बचाया, और बचाएँगे; और उससे हमारी यह आशा है, कि वह आगे को भी बचाते रहेंगे। BSB BSB: He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us. In Him we have placed our hope that He will yet again deliver us,
11 IEV और तुम भी मिलकर प्रार्थना के द्वारा हमारी सहायता करोगे, कि जो वरदान बहुतों के द्वारा हमें मिला, उसके कारण बहुत लोग हमारी ओर से धन्यवाद करें। BSB BSB: as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the favor shown us in answer to their prayers.
12 IEV हम अपने विवेक की इस गवाही पर घमण्ड करते हैं कि हमने तुम्हारे बीच सच्चा और निष्कपट जीवन व्यतीत किया है। हम संसार में परमेश्वर के लोगों के रूप में रहते थे और हमें परमेश्वर पर गहरा विश्वास है, जो उनकी ओर से एक वरदान था। हम संसार की रीति से नहीं जीते हैं। जब हम चुनते हैं कि हम क्या करेंगे तो हम संसार के ज्ञान की बातें नहीं सुनते हैं। इसकी अपेक्षा, परमेश्वर ने हमारी जीवन- शैली को सच्चा और पवित्र बना दिया है। BSB BSB: For this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in relation to you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God—not in worldly wisdom, but in the grace of God.
13 IEV तुमने मेरे पत्रों को पढ़ा है। मैंने उन्हें इसलिए लिखा है कि तुम उन्हें समझ सको। BSB BSB: For we do not write you anything that is beyond your ability to read and understand. And I hope that you will understand us completely,
14 IEV तुमको पहले से ही हमारे विषय में थोड़ी सी जानकारी है, परन्तु उस दिन जब प्रभु यीशु वापस आएँगे, मुझे आशा है कि तुम उनकी उपस्थिति में हमारे विषय में बहुत ही गर्व करोगे, और हम तुम पर बहुत गर्व करेंगे। BSB BSB: as you have already understood us in part, that you may boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of our Lord Jesus.
15 IEV मुझे पूरा विश्वास है कि मैं पहले तुम्हारे पास आना चाहता था, कि तुम्हें दोगुना आशीष मिलें। BSB BSB: Confident of this, I planned to visit you first, so that you might receive a double blessing.
16 IEV जब मैं मकिदुनिया क्षेत्र जाने के रास्ते पर था और जब मैं वहाँ से वापस आ रहा था, तो मैंने तुमको दोनों बार देखने की योजना बनाई थी, कि तुम मुझे यहूदिया के रास्ते भेज दो। BSB BSB: I wanted to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and to return to you from Macedonia, and then to have you help me on my way to Judea.
17 IEV मैंने अपना मन बना लिया था कि यही योजना होगी। मैं तुमको“हाँ” कहकर फिर तुमको“ना” नहीं कह रहा था। मैं सांसारिक रीति से अपनी योजनाएँ नहीं बना रहा था। BSB BSB: When I planned this, did I do it carelessly? Or do I make my plans by human standards, so as to say “Yes, yes” and also “No, no”?
18 IEV परमेश्वर विश्वासयोग्य है, कि हमारे उस वचन में जो तुमसे कहा‘हाँ’ और‘नहीं’ दोनों पाए नहीं जाते। BSB BSB: But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No.”
19 IEV हमारा“हाँ” परमेश्वर के पुत्र, यीशु मसीह की ओर से आता है, जिनके विषय में हमने तुमको बताया था; और उनमें कभी भी कोई भ्रम नहीं था— उनके साथ कभी“हाँ और फिर बाद में ना” नहीं है। इसकी अपेक्षा, उनमें सदा“हाँ” ही रहा है। BSB BSB: For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was proclaimed among you by me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not “Yes” and “No,” but in Him it has always been “Yes.”
20 IEV क्योंकि परमेश्वर की सब प्रतिज्ञाएँ“हाँ” हैं, क्योंकि वे उनकी ओर से आते हैं। और हम अपना पुष्टीकरण उस“हाँ” में जोड़ते हैं। और हम परमेश्वर के आदर के विषय में कहते हैं:“हाँ! यह सच है!” BSB BSB: For all the promises of God are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him, our “Amen” is spoken to the glory of God.

23 IEV मैं परमेश्वर को गवाह करता हूँ, कि मैं अब तक कुरिन्थुस में इसलिए नहीं आया ताकि तुमको मेरा सामना न करना पड़े। BSB BSB: I call God as my witness that it was in order to spare you that I did not return to Corinth.
24 IEV हम स्वामियों के समान नहीं हैं, जो तुमको आदेश देते हैं कि तुमको परमेश्वर पर कैसे विश्वास करना चाहिए, तुम विश्वास में स्थिर हो, चाहे कुछ भी हो जाए, और उन पर भरोसा करने में आनन्द प्राप्त कर सको। BSB BSB: Not that we lord it over your faith, but we are fellow workers with you for your joy, because it is by faith that you stand firm.
