2 IEV एक दिन दाऊद ने नातान भविष्यद्वक्ता से कहा,“यह सही नहीं है कि मैं देवदार की लकड़ी से बने सुन्दर घर में रहूँ, परन्तु सन्दूक जिसमें परमेश्वर की दस आज्ञाएँ हैं, उसे तम्बू में रखा जाए!” BSB BSB: he said to Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a house of cedar, while the ark of God remains in a tent.”
3 IEV तब नातान ने राजा से कहा,“यहोवा तेरी सहायता कर रहे हैं, इसलिए पवित्र सन्दूक के विषय में जो भी तुझे सही लगता है कर।” BSB BSB: And Nathan replied to the king, “Go and do all that is in your heart, for the LORD is with you.”
4 IEV उस रात, यहोवा ने नातान से कहा: BSB BSB: But that night the word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying,

6 IEV जिस दिन से मैं इस्राएलियों को मिस्र से निकाल कर लाया, उस दिन से मैं किसी भी भवन में नहीं रहा हूँ। इसकी अपेक्षा, मैं एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान पर अपने पवित्र- तम्बू में घूमता रहा। BSB BSB: For I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt until this day, but I have moved about with a tent as My dwelling.

8 IEV तो मेरे दास दाऊद से कह कि स्वर्गदूतों की सेनाओं के प्रधान यहोवा कहते हैं कि उन्होंने उसे चारागाह से और भेड़ों की देखभाल करने से निकाला, और उसे मेरी इस्राएली प्रजा का शासक बनने के लिए नियुक्त किया। BSB BSB: Now then, you are to tell My servant David that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: I took you from the pasture, from following the flock, to be the ruler over My people Israel.

Now I will make for you a name like that of the greatest in the land.
10 IEV पहले, जब मैंने इस्राएली लोगों के लिए अगुओं को नियुक्त किया, तब कई हिंसक समूहों ने उन्हें पीड़ित किया। परन्तु ऐसा अब और नहीं होगा। मैंने एक ऐसा स्थान चुना है जहाँ मेरे लोग शान्ति से रह सकें और जहाँ कोई भी उन्हें नहीं सताएगा। मैं उनके सभी शत्रुओं का आक्रमण करना बन्द करवा दूँगा। और मैं उनके सभी शत्रुओं को पराजित करूँगा। दाऊद से कह कि मैं घोषणा करता हूँ कि मैं, यहोवा, उसके वंशजों को उसके बाद शासन करने में सक्षम बनाऊँगा। BSB BSB: And I will provide a place for My people Israel and will plant them so that they may dwell in a place of their own and be disturbed no more. No longer will the sons of wickedness oppress them as they did at the beginning
13 IEV वही है जो मेरे लिए एक आराधनालय बनाने की व्यवस्था करेगा। मैं इस्राएल पर उसका शासन सर्वदा के लिए स्थापित करूँगा। BSB BSB: He will build a house for My Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
14 IEV मैं उसके पिता के समान ठहरूँगा, और वह मेरे लिए एक पुत्र के समान होगा। जब वह कुछ गलत करता है, तो मैं उसे दण्ड दूँगा जैसे पिता अपने पुत्रों को दण्ड देता है। BSB BSB: I will be his Father, and he will be My son. When he does wrong, I will discipline him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men.

17 IEV तब नातान ने दाऊद को यहोवा ने जो कुछ कहा था सब बताया। BSB BSB: So Nathan relayed to David all the words of this entire revelation.

21 IEV आपने ये सब महान कार्य मुझे सीखाने के लिए किए, और आपने उन्हें इसलिए किया क्योंकि आप उन्हें करना चाहते थे और क्योंकि आपने उन्हें करने का निर्णय लिया था। BSB BSB: For the sake of Your word and according to Your own heart, You have accomplished this great thing and revealed it to Your servant.

23 IEV और इस्राएल के समान संसार में कोई अन्य राष्ट्र नहीं है। इस्राएल धरती पर एकमात्र राष्ट्र है जिसको छुड़ाने आप स्वयं गए, क्योंकि आपने उन्हें मिस्र से छुड़ाया था। तब आपने उनको अपना निज भाग बनाया और इन सभी कार्यों के द्वारा, अब आप पूरी संसार में प्रसिद्ध हैं। जैसे आपके लोग इस देश से आगे बढ़े, आपने अन्य समूहों को उनके देवताओं समेत कनान से खदेड़ दिया। BSB BSB: And who is like Your people Israel—the one nation on earth whom God went out to redeem as a people for Himself and to make a name for Himself? You performed great and awesome wonders by driving out nations and their gods from before Your people, whom You redeemed for Yourself from Egypt.
24 IEV आपने हम इस्राएलियों को सर्वदा के लिए अपने लोगों के रूप में ठहराया, और यहोवा, आप हमारे परमेश्वर बन गए! BSB BSB: For You have established Your people Israel as Your very own forever, and You, O LORD, have become their God.

27 IEV यहोवा परमेश्वर, जिनकी हम इस्राएली लोग आराधना करते हैं, आपने मुझे दर्शाया है कि आप मेरे कुछ वंशजों को राजा बनाएँगे यही कारण हैं कि मुझे आप से इस प्रकार प्रार्थना करने का साहस हुआ है। BSB BSB: For You, O LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, have revealed this to Your servant when You said, ‘I will build a house for you.’ Therefore Your servant has found the courage to offer this prayer to You.
28 IEV तो हे यहोवा, क्योंकि आप परमेश्वर हैं, हम भरोसा कर सकते हैं कि आप जो भी प्रतिज्ञा करते हैं वह करेंगे। आपने मुझसे इन अच्छी बातों की प्रतिज्ञा की है। BSB BSB: And now, O Lord GOD, You are God! Your words are true, and You have promised this goodness to Your servant.
29 IEV इसलिए अब मैं आप से माँगता हूँ कि यदि यह आपको प्रसन्न करता है, तो आप मेरे वंशजों को आशीष दें, कि वे सदा के लिए शासन कर सकें। हे यहोवा परमेश्वर, आपने इन बातों की प्रतिज्ञा की है, इसलिए मुझे पता है कि यदि आप यह बातें करते हैं, तो आप मेरे वंशजों को सर्वदा आशीष देंगे।” BSB BSB: Now therefore, may it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue forever before You. For You, O Lord GOD, have spoken, and with Your blessing the house of Your servant will be blessed forever.”
