1 IEV तब यहोवा ने ऊँचे शब्द से पुकार कर कहा,“तुम लोग जो इस शहर को दण्ड देने जा रहे हो, यहाँ अपने विनाश के साधन लाओ।” BSB BSB: Then I heard Him call out in a loud voice, saying, “Draw near, O executioners of the city, each with a weapon of destruction in hand.”
2 IEV तब मैंने छः मनुष्यों को मन्दिर के उत्तर द्वार से आते देखा। प्रत्येक के हाथ में एक हथियार था। उनके साथ सफेद सनी का वस्त्र पहने हुए एक पुरुष था। वह अपने साथ एक बक्सा लिए हुए था जिसमें लिखने का सामान था। वे सब भीतर आए और पीतल की वेदी के पास खड़े हो गए। BSB BSB: And I saw six men coming from the direction of the Upper Gate, which faces north, each with a weapon of slaughter in his hand. With them was another man clothed in linen who had a writing kit at his side. And they came in and stood beside the bronze altar.
3 IEV तब वह महिमा जो इस्राएल के परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति का प्रतीक थी चार पंखों वाले प्राणियों से ऊपर उठ गई और मन्दिर के प्रवेश द्वार से चली गई, और यहोवा ने सनी का वस्त्र पहने हुए पुरुष को पुकारा, BSB BSB: Then the glory of the God of Israel rose from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side.
4 IEV और उससे कहा,“सम्पूर्ण यरूशलेम में जा और उन लोगों के माथे पर चिन्ह डाल जो शहर में होने वाले घृणित कार्यों के कारण बहुत दुखी हैं।” BSB BSB: “Go throughout the city of Jerusalem,” said the LORD, “and put a mark on the foreheads of the men sighing and groaning over all the abominations committed there.”
5 IEV जब मैं सुन रहा था, तब उन्होंने अन्य छः लोगों से कहा,“सफेद वस्त्र पहने हुए पुरुष का अनुसरण करो, और लोगों को मार डालो। उन पर दया नहीं करना या उनके साथ दया का व्यवहार नहीं करना। BSB BSB: And as I listened, He said to the others, “Follow him through the city and start killing; do not show pity or spare anyone!
6 IEV बूढ़े पुरुषों, युवा पुरुषों और स्त्रियों, बुजुर्ग स्त्रियों और बच्चों को घात करो; परन्तु उन लोगों में से किसी को भी हानि न पहुँचाओ जिनके माथे पर वह चिन्ह है। मेरे मन्दिर से आरम्भ करो।” अतः उन्होंने मन्दिर के सामने मूर्तियों की उपासना करने वाले प्राचीनों से नरसंहार आरम्भ किया। BSB BSB: Slaughter the old men, the young men and maidens, the women and children; but do not go near anyone who has the mark. Now begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple.
7 IEV तब यहोवा ने उन पुरुषों से कहा,“तुम्हारे द्वारा मारे गए लोगों के शवों से आँगन को भर कर मन्दिर को अशुद्ध करो! अब आरम्भ करो!” अतः वे बाहर चले गए और पूरे शहर में लोगों की हत्या करना आरम्भ कर दिया। BSB BSB: Then He told them, “Defile the temple and fill the courts with the slain. Go forth!” So they went out and began killing throughout the city.
8 IEV जब वे ऐसा कर रहे थे, मैं अकेला छोड़ दिया गया था। मैंने स्वयं को भूमि पर मुँह के बल गिरा दिया और रोने लगा,“हे यहोवा मेरे परमेश्वर, क्या आप यरूशलेम पर क्रोध बरसाकर इस्राएल के उन सब लोगों को नाश करने जा रहे हैं जो अभी भी जीवित हैं?” BSB BSB: While they were killing, I was left alone. And I fell facedown and cried out, “Oh, Lord GOD, when You pour out Your wrath on Jerusalem, will You destroy the entire remnant of Israel?”
9 IEV उन्होंने उत्तर दिया,“लोगों के पाप असंख्य और गम्भीर हैं! देश में हर स्थान में हत्या हुई है, और यह शहर उन लोगों से भरा है जो अन्याय से कार्य करते हैं। वे कहते हैं,‘यहोवा ने इस देश को त्याग दिया है, और वह नहीं देखते कि हम क्या कर रहे हैं।’ BSB BSB: He replied, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great. The land is full of bloodshed, and the city is full of perversity. For they say, ‘The LORD has forsaken the land; the LORD does not see.’
10 IEV इसलिए मैं उन पर कृपा नहीं करूँगा या उनके साथ दया का व्यवहार नहीं करूँगा। मैं उनके साथ वही बुरे कार्य करूँगा जो उन्होंने अन्य लोगों के साथ किए हैं।” BSB BSB: But as for Me, I will not look on them with pity, nor will I spare them. I will bring their deeds down upon their own heads.”
11 IEV तब सनी का वस्त्र पहने हुए पुरुष ने वापस आकर कहा,“मैंने वह कर दिया है जिसको करने का आदेश आपने मुझे दिया था।” BSB BSB: Then the man clothed in linen with the writing kit at his side reported back, “I have done as You commanded.”
