1 IEV तब याकूब अपनी सारी सम्पत्ति और अपने पूरे परिवार के साथ वहाँ से चल पड़ा। जब वह बेर्शेबा पहुँचा तब उसने परमेश्वर के लिए बलिदान चढ़ाया जिनकी आराधना उसका पिता इसहाक करता था। BSB BSB: So Israel set out with all that he had, and when he came to Beersheba, he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
2 IEV उस रात, परमेश्वर ने दर्शन दे कर याकूब से कहा,“याकूब! याकूब!” उसने उत्तर दिया,“मैं यहाँ हूँ!” BSB BSB: And that night God spoke to Israel in a vision: “Jacob, Jacob!” He said. “Here I am,” replied Jacob.
3 IEV परमेश्वर ने कहा,“मैं वह परमेश्वर हूँ जिसकी आराधना तेरा पिता करता था। मिस्र जाने से मत डर। मैं तेरे वंश को बहुत बढ़ाऊँगा और वे वहाँ एक बड़ी जाति बन जाएँगे। BSB BSB: “I am God,” He said, “the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.
4 IEV मैं तेरे साथ मिस्र जाऊँगा, और बाद में मैं तेरे वंशजों को फिर कनान में लाऊँगा। तेरे मरने के समय यूसुफ तेरे साथ होगा।” BSB BSB: I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will surely bring you back. And Joseph’s own hands will close your eyes.”
6 IEV इस प्रकार याकूब और उसका पूरा परिवार मिस्र गया। उन्होंने अपने साथ अपने सारे पशुओं और अन्य सभी सम्पत्तियाँ लीं जो उन्होंने कनान में प्राप्त की थीं। BSB BSB: They also took the livestock and possessions they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and Jacob and all his offspring went to Egypt.

29 IEV जब वे वहाँ पहुँचे तब यूसुफ ने अपना रथ तैयार करवाया और अपने पिता से भेंट करने के लिए गोशेन गया। जब यूसुफ वहाँ पहुँचा तब अपने पिता के गले से लिपट कर बहुत देर तक रोया। BSB BSB: Joseph prepared his chariot and went there to meet his father Israel. Joseph presented himself to him, embraced him, and wept profusely.
30 IEV याकूब ने यूसुफ से कहा,“मैंने तुझे देखा है, और अब मुझे पता है कि तू अभी भी जीवित है! तो अब मैं मरने के लिए तैयार हूँ।” BSB BSB: Then Israel said to Joseph, “Finally I can die, now that I have seen your face and know that you are still alive!”
31 IEV तब यूसुफ ने अपने भाइयों और परिवार के सब सदस्यों से कहा,“मैं जा कर राजा से कहूँगा,‘मेरे भाई और मेरा पिता और उनका कुटुम्ब कनान से मेरे पास आ गया है। BSB BSB: Joseph said to his brothers and to his father’s household, “I will go up and inform Pharaoh: ‘My brothers and my father’s household from the land of Canaan have come to me.
32 IEV सभी पुरुष चरवाहे हैं। वे अपने पशुओं का ध्यान रखते हैं, और वे अपने साथ अपनी भेड़ें, बकरियाँ, पशु, और जो कुछ भी उनके पास है, साथ लाए है।’ BSB BSB: The men are shepherds; they raise livestock, and they have brought their flocks and herds and all that they own.’

34 IEV तो उससे कहना,“हमने तो अपनी युवावस्था से ही पशुपालन किया है क्योंकि हमारे पूर्वज भी ऐसा ही करते थे।’ तुम उससे ऐसा कहोगे तो वह तुम्हें गोशेन में रहने देगा। यूसुफ ने ऐसा इसलिए कहा कि मिस्री चरवाहों को पसन्द नहीं करते थे। BSB BSB: you are to say, ‘Your servants have raised livestock ever since our youth—both we and our fathers.’ Then you will be allowed to settle in the land of Goshen, since all shepherds are detestable to the Egyptians.”
