7उस बिन्दु से सीमा पश्चिम की ओर मुड़ गई और आकोर की घाटी से दबीर तक चली गई। वहाँ से वह फिर से गिलगाल जाने के लिए उत्तर में मुड़ गई। गिलगाल उस मार्ग के उत्तर में है जो नदी की घाटी के दक्षिण की ओर अदुम्मीम की पहाड़ी पर जाता है। गिलगाल से सीमा पश्चिम में एनशेमेश में सोतों तक थी, और वहाँ से एनरोगेल तक।Then the border went up to Debir from the Valley of Achor, turning north to Gilgal, which faces the Ascent of Adummim south of the ravine. It continued along the waters of En-shemesh and came out at En-rogel.

9वहाँ से सीमा उत्तर- पश्चिम की पहाड़ियों के शीर्ष तक चली गई, जो नेप्तोह के सोते तक और वहाँ से एप्रोन पर्वत के पास के नगरों तक पहुँची। वहाँ से सीमा पश्चिम की ओर बाला की ओर बढ़ी(जिसे अब किर्यत्यारीम नाम दिया गया है)।From the hilltop the border curved to the spring of the Waters of Nephtoah, proceeded to the cities of Mount Ephron, and then bent around toward Baalah (that is, Kiriath-jearim).

10तब वह सीमा पश्चिम की ओर बाला के पार सेईर पर्वत की ओर बढ़ती गई। तब यह दक्षिण- पश्चिम में पर्वत यारीम के उत्तर की ओर चली गई(जिसे कसालोन भी कहा जाता है), और नीचे बेतशेमेश के पास गई। वहाँ से यह तिम्ना के पास से होती हुई निकली।The border curled westward from Baalah to Mount Seir, ran along the northern slope of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon), went down to Beth-shemesh, and crossed to Timnah.

11तब वह सीमा उत्तर पश्चिम में एक्रोन के उत्तर में पहाड़ी पर चली गई। वहाँ से वह पश्चिम में बाला पर्वत से होती हुई शिक्करोन को गई और यब्नेल तक पहुँची और फिर उत्तर- पश्चिम में भूमध्य सागर तक चली गई।Then it went out to the northern slope of Ekron, curved toward Shikkeron, proceeded to Mount Baalah, went on to Jabneel, and ended at the Sea.

12यहूदा के गोत्र को दिए गए क्षेत्र की पश्चिमी सीमा भूमध्य सागर थी। यहूदा के सब कुल उन सीमाओं के भीतर रहते थे।And the western border was the coastline of the Great Sea. These are the boundaries around the clans of the descendants of Judah.

13यहोवा ने यहोशू को आज्ञा दी कि यहूदा के गोत्र के क्षेत्र का कुछ भाग कालेब को दे। इसलिए उसने किर्यतअर्बा शहर कालेब को दिया, जिसे अब हेब्रोन कहा जाता है।(अर्बा अनाक का पिता था।)According to the LORD’s command to him, Joshua gave Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion among the sons of Judah—Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron. (Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

14कालेब ने अनाक लोगों के समूह के तीन कुलों को हेब्रोन छोड़ने के लिए विवश कर दिया। वे शेशै, अहीमन और तल्मै के कुल थे।And Caleb drove out from there the three sons of Anak—the descendants of Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

15तब कालेब वहाँ निकला और दबीर में रहने वाले लोगों के विरुद्ध युद्ध करने गया(जिसे पहले किर्यत्सेपेर नाम दिया गया था)।From there he marched against the inhabitants of Debir (formerly known as Kiriath-sepher).

16कालेब ने कहा,“यदि कोई किर्यत्सेपेर में लोगों पर आक्रमण करता है और उनके शहर पर अधिकार कर लेता है, तो मैं अपनी पुत्री अकसा को विवाह में उसे दे दूँगा।”And Caleb said, “To the man who strikes down Kiriath-sepher and captures it, I will give my daughter Acsah in marriage.”

17कालेब के भाई केनाज के पुत्र ओत्नीएल ने उस शहर पर अधिकार कर लिया। अतः कालेब ने अपनी पुत्री अकसा को विवाह में उसे दे दिया।So Othniel son of Caleb’s brother Kenaz captured the city, and Caleb gave his daughter Acsah to him in marriage.

18जब कालेब की पुत्री ने ओत्नीएल से विवाह किया, तब उसने कहा कि वह अपने पिता से एक खेत देने के लिए कहे। तब अकसा अपने पिता कालेब से बात करने गई। जैसे ही वह उसके गधे से उतरी, कालेब ने उससे पूछा,“क्या तू कुछ चाहती है?”One day Acsah came to Othniel and urged him to ask her father for a field. When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, “What do you desire?”

19अकसा ने उत्तर दिया,“हाँ, मैं चाहती हूँ कि तू मेरे लिए कुछ करो। तूने मुझे दक्षिणी यहूदिया की मरुभूमि दी है, परन्तु वहाँ पानी नहीं है। इसलिए कृपया मुझे कुछ ऐसी भूमि दो जिसमें सोते हों।” अतः कालेब ने उसे हेब्रोन के पास ऊपरी और निचले सोते दिए।“Give me a blessing,” she answered. “Since you have given me land in the Negev, give me springs of water as well.” So Caleb gave her both the upper and lower springs.

34जानोह, एनगन्नीम, तप्पूह, एनाम,Zanoah, En-gannim, Tappuah, Enam,

35यर्मूत, अदुल्लाम, सोको, अजेका,Jarmuth, Adullam, Socoh, Azekah,

36शारैंम, अदीतैम, और गदेरा(जिसे गदेरोतैम भी कहा जाता है)। आस- पास के गाँवों के साथ ये चौदह शहर थे।Shaaraim, Adithaim, and Gederah (or Gederothaim)—fourteen cities, along with their villages.

49दन्ना, किर्यत्सन्ना(जिसे दबीर भी कहा जाता है)Dannah, Kiriath-sannah (that is, Debir),

50अनाब, एश्तमो, आनीम,Anab, Eshtemoh, Anim,

51गोशेन, होलोन, और गीलो। आस- पास के गाँवों के साथ ये ग्यारह शहर थे।Goshen, Holon, and Giloh—eleven cities, along with their villages.

58यहूदा के गोत्र को पहाड़ी देश के मध्य भाग में भी नगर दिए गए थे: हलहूल, बेतसूर, गदोर,Halhul, Beth-zur, Gedor,

59मरात, बेतनोत और एलतकोन। आस- पास के गाँवों के साथ ये छः शहर थे।Maarath, Beth-anoth, and Eltekon—six cities, along with their villages.

60यहूदा के गोत्र को पहाड़ी देश के उत्तरी भाग, रब्बाह और किर्यतबाल(जिसे किर्यत्यारीम भी कहा जाता है) में दो नगर दिए गए थे।Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), and Rabbah—two cities, along with their villages.

61यहूदा के गोत्र को मृत सागर के पास मरुभूमि में भी नगर दिए गए थे: बेतराबा, मिद्दीन, सकाका,These were in the wilderness: Beth-arabah, Middin, Secacah,

62निबशान, लोनवाला शहर, और एनगदी। आस- पास के गाँवों के साथ ये छः शहर थे।Nibshan, the City of Salt, and En-gedi—six cities, along with their villages.

63यहूदा के गोत्र की सेना यबूसी लोगों को बाहर निकालने में सफल नहीं हुई थी इसलिए वे यरूशलेम में ही रहे। वे आज भी यहूदा के गोत्र के मध्य में रह रहे हैं।But the descendants of Judah could not drive out the Jebusites living in Jerusalem. So to this day the Jebusites live there among the descendants of Judah.
