3 UDB परन्तु मैं, यहोवा परमेश्वर, यह घोषणा करता हूँ, जैसे निश्चय ही मैं जीवित हूँ, इसलिए तुम इस्राएली लोग अब इस कहावत को नहीं कहोगे। BSB BSB: As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel.
4 UDB हर एक जन जो जीवित है वह मेरा है। इसमें बच्चे और उनके माता पिता भी हैं; वे सब मेरे हैं। और जो पाप करते हैं वे उनके पापों के कारण मर जाएँगे। BSB BSB: Behold, every soul belongs to Me; both father and son are Mine. The soul who sins is the one who will die.

10 UDB परन्तु मान लीजिए कि किसी मनुष्य का एक पुत्र है जो हिंसा के कार्य करता है, जो लोगों की हत्या करता है और वह सब कार्य करता है, जिन्हें उसके पिता ने कभी नहीं किया है। BSB BSB: Now suppose that man has a violent son, who sheds blood or does any of these things,

He keeps My ordinances and follows My statutes. Such a man will not die for his father’s iniquity. He will surely live.
18 UDB परन्तु मैं यह सुनिश्चित करूँगा कि उसका पिता अपने किए गए पापों के लिए मर जाएगा, क्योंकि पिता ने धोखा दिया और लोगों को लूटा, और बुरे कार्य किए। BSB BSB: As for his father, he will die for his own iniquity, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother, and did what was wrong among his people.

21 UDB परन्तु यदि कोई दुष्ट व्यक्ति उन सब बुरे कार्यों को करना बन्द कर देता है जो उसने पहले किए थे, और यदि वह सच्चे मन से मेरे सब नियमों का पालन करना आरम्भ कर देता है, और यदि वही करता है जो उचित और सही है, तो वह निश्चित रूप से जीवित रहेगा; मैं उसे नहीं मारूँगा। BSB BSB: But if the wicked man turns from all the sins he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die.
22 UDB मैं उसके द्वारा पहले किए गए पापों के लिए उसे दण्ड नहीं दूँगा। उस समय से हुए अच्छे कार्यों के कारण, मैं उसे जीवित रहने की अनुमति दूँगा। BSB BSB: None of the transgressions he has committed will be held against him. Because of the righteousness he has practiced, he will live.

Wouldn’t I prefer that he turn from his ways and live?
24 UDB परन्तु यदि कोई धर्मी व्यक्ति सही कार्य करना त्याग देता है और पाप करना आरम्भ कर देता है और दुष्टों के समान घृणित कार्यों को करता है, तो मैं निश्चय ही उसे जीवित रहने नहीं दूँगा। मैं उन धर्म के कार्यों के विषय में नहीं सोचूँगा जो उसने पहले किए थे। क्योंकि उसने सच्चे मन से ऐसा नहीं किया जो मुझे प्रसन्न करता है, और उसके द्वारा किए गए सब पापों के कारण, वह निश्चय ही मर जाएगा। BSB BSB: But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and practices iniquity, committing the same abominations as the wicked, will he live? None of the righteous acts he did will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness and sin he has committed, he will die.
25 UDB परन्तु तुम कहते हो कि मैं, यहोवा, निष्पक्षता से कार्य नहीं करता। तुम इस्राएली लोग, जो मैं कहता हूँ उसे सुनो: निश्चय ही ऐसा नहीं है कि जो मैं करता हूँ वह अनुचित है; जो तुम निरन्तर करते हो यह वही है जो उचित नहीं है। BSB BSB: Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is it My way that is unjust? Is it not your ways that are unjust?
26 UDB यदि कोई धर्मी व्यक्ति सही कार्यों को करने से दूर हो जाता है और पाप करता है, तो वह उन पापों को करने के कारण मर जाएगा। BSB BSB: If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and practices iniquity, he will die for this. He will die because of the iniquity he has committed.
27 UDB परन्तु यदि कोई दुष्ट व्यक्ति दुष्ट कार्यों को करने से दूर हो जाता है और वही करता है जो न्यायपूर्ण और सही है, तो वह स्वयं को मरने से बचाएगा। BSB BSB: But if a wicked man turns from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he will save his life.

29 UDB परन्तु तुम, इस्राएली कहते हो कि मैं निष्पक्षता से कार्य नहीं करता हूँ। तुम इस्राएल के लोगों, मैं सदा निष्पक्षता से कार्य करता हूँ। यह तुम ही हो जो दुष्टता के कार्य कर रहे हो। BSB BSB: Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Are My ways unjust, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are unjust?
30 UDB इस कारण, हे इस्राएल के लोगों, मैं, यहोवा परमेश्वर, तुम में से प्रत्येक का न्याय तुम्हारे कार्यों के अनुसार करूँगा। पश्चाताप करो! अपने दुष्ट व्यवहार से दूर हो जाओ! तब तुम्हारे द्वारा किए गए गलत कार्यों के कारण मैं तुमको नष्ट नहीं करूँगा। BSB BSB: Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each according to his ways, declares the Lord GOD. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, so that your iniquity will not become your downfall.
31 UDB दुष्ट कार्यों को करना त्याग दो; नए रीति से सोचना आरम्भ करो। हे इस्राएल के लोगों, क्या तुम सचमुच चाहते हो कि मैं तुम्हें मार दूँ क्योंकि तुमने पाप किया है? BSB BSB: Cast away from yourselves all the transgressions you have committed, and fashion for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Why should you die, O house of Israel?
32 UDB मैं, यहोवा परमेश्वर, यह घोषणा करता हूँ कि मैं तुम्हारी मृत्यु से प्रसन्न नहीं हूँ। इसलिए अपने पापों से दूर हो जाओ और जीवित रहो!” BSB BSB: For I take no pleasure in anyone’s death, declares the Lord GOD. So repent and live!
