3 UDB तब उन्होंने एक दूसरे से कहा, "चलो हम ईंटें बनाते हैं और इन्हें आग में तपा कर ठोस करके इमारत बनाने में इसका प्रयोग करते हैं।" इसलिए उन्होंने पत्थरों की अपेक्षा ईंटों का प्रयोग किया, और गारे के स्थान पर राल का प्रयोग किया। BSB BSB: And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” So they used brick instead of stone, and tar instead of mortar.

5 UDB एक दिन यहोवा नगर और उस इमारत को जो लोग बना रहे थे देखने के लिए नीचे आये। BSB BSB: Then the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the sons of men were building.
6 UDB यहोवा ने कहा, "ये लोग एक समुदाय हैं जो एक ही भाषा बोलते हैं। यदि उन्होंने ऐसा करना शुरू कर दिया है तो ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं है जो वे करने का निर्णय करें और उनके लिए वह असंभव होगा! BSB BSB: And the LORD said, “If they have begun to do this as one people speaking the same language, then nothing they devise will be beyond them.
7 UDB इसलिए आओ हम नीचें चले और लोगों को अलग-अलग भाषाएँ बुलवाए ताकि वे एक-दूसरे की बातें समझ न सकें।" BSB BSB: Come, let Us go down and confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.”
8 UDB ऐसा करके, यहोवा ने लोगों को पूरी पृथ्वी पर बिखेर दिया और लोगों ने नगर का निर्माण बंद कर दिया। BSB BSB: So the LORD scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they stopped building the city.
9 UDB नगर को बाबेल कहा जाता था, क्योंकि वहाँ यहोवा ने पूरी पृथ्वी के लोगों के साथ ऐसा किया कि अब सभी मात्र एक भाषा नहीं बोलते थे। और यहोवा ने उन्हें सारी पृथ्वी पर तितर-बितर कर दिया। BSB BSB: That is why it is called Babel, for there the LORD confused the language of the whole world, and from that place the LORD scattered them over the face of all the earth.
