When Lot saw them, he got up to meet them, bowed facedown,
2 UDB उसने उनसे कहा, "महोदय, कृपया आज रात मेरे घर में रहें। वहाँ आप लोग अपने पैर धो सकते हैं, और कल जल्दी आप अपनी यात्रा आरम्भ कर सकते हैं।" लेकिन उन्होंने कहा, "नहीं, हम यहीं नगर के चौक में रात बिता लेंगें।" BSB BSB: and said, “My lords, please turn aside into the house of your servant; wash your feet and spend the night. Then you can rise early and go on your way.” “No,” they answered, “we will spend the night in the square.”
3 UDB लेकिन लूत अपने घर में चल कर सोने के लिए बार-बार कहता रहा। इसलिए वे उसके साथ उसके घर गए, और लूत ने उनके लिए भोजन तैयार करवाया। उसने खमीर के बिना कुछ रोटी तैयार करवाई और उन्होंने उसे खा लिया। BSB BSB: But Lot insisted so strongly that they followed him into his house. He prepared a feast for them and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4 UDB जब वे भोजन समाप्त कर चुके और सोने जा ही रहे थे, सदोम नगर के लोगों ने, जवान से बूढ़े तक सब ने लूत के घर को घेर लिया। BSB BSB: Before they had gone to bed, all the men of the city of Sodom, both young and old, surrounded the house.
5 UDB उन्होंने लूत को बाहर बुलाकर कहा, "वे लोग कौन हैं जो आज शाम तेरे घर आए है? उन्हें बाहर लाओ, ताकि हम उनके साथ सहवास कर सकें!" BSB BSB: They called out to Lot, saying, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Send them out to us so we can have relations with them!”
6 UDB लूत घर से बाहर निकला और पीछे से उसने घर का दरवाज़ा बन्द कर लिया, ताकि वे अंदर न जा सकें। BSB BSB: Lot went outside to meet them, shutting the door behind him.
7 UDB उसने उनसे कहा, "मेरे मित्रों, ऐसे बुरे काम मत करो! BSB BSB: “Please, my brothers,” he pleaded, “don’t do such a wicked thing!
9 UDB परन्तु उन्होंने उत्तर दिया, "हमारे रास्ते से हट जा! तू विदेशी है इसलिए तुझे हमको यह बताने का कोई अधिकार नहीं है कि क्या सही है! हम तेरे साथ उनसे भी अधिक बुरा करेंगे!" तब वे लूत की ओर झपटे, और दृढ़तापूर्वक दरवाजे को तोड़ने का प्रयास किया। BSB BSB: “Get out of the way!” they replied. And they declared, “This one came here as a foreigner, and he is already acting like a judge! Now we will treat you worse than them.” And they pressed in on Lot and moved in to break down the door.
10 UDB परन्तु दोनों स्वर्गदूतों ने सावधानी से दरवाजा खोला और लूत को घर के अन्दर खींच लिया। फिर उन्होंने दरवाजा बंद कर दिया। BSB BSB: But the men inside reached out, pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.
11 UDB तब उन्होंने उन सभी पुरुषों को अन्धा कर दिया जो घर के दरवाजे के बाहर थे। सब जवान और बूढ़े अंधे हो गए, वे दरवाजा नहीं ढूंढ सकें। BSB BSB: And they struck the men at the entrance, young and old, with blindness, so that they wearied themselves trying to find the door.
12 UDB दोनों स्वर्गदूतों ने लूत से पूछा, "यहाँ तेरे साथ ओर कौन-कौन है? यदि तेरे पास पुत्र या दामाद हैं या नगर में अन्य कोई जो तेरे साथ है, उन्हें नगर से बाहर ले जा। BSB BSB: Then the two men said to Lot, “Do you have anyone else here—a son-in-law, your sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here,
13 UDB क्योंकि हम इस स्थान को नष्ट करने जा रहे हैं। यहोवा ने उन सभी बुराइयों को सुन लिया है जो इस नगर में है और यहोवा ने हमें इसे नष्ट करने के लिए भेजा है।" BSB BSB: because we are about to destroy this place. For the outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that He has sent us to destroy it.”
14 UDB इसलिए लूत बाहर गया और उन लोगों से बात की जिन्होंने उसकी पुत्रियों से विवाह करने का वचन दिया था। उसने उनसे कहा, "जल्दी करो! इस नगर से निकल जाओ, क्योंकि यहोवा इसे नष्ट करने वाले हैं!" लेकिन उन लोगों ने समझा कि लूत मज़ाक कर रहा है। BSB BSB: So Lot went out and spoke to the sons-in-law who were pledged in marriage to his daughters. “Get up,” he said. “Get out of this place, for the LORD is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.
15 UDB अगले दिन सुबह होते-होते उन स्वर्गदूतों ने लूत से कहा, "तुरन्त खड़ा हो जा और अपनी पत्नी और पुत्रियों के साथ इस नगर से बाहर निकल जा। यदि ऐसा नही करेगा तो जब हम इस नगर को नष्ट करेंगे तब तू भी नष्ट हो जाएगा।" BSB BSB: At daybreak the angels hurried Lot along, saying, “Get up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.”
17 UDB जब वे नगर के बाहर आ गए तो एक स्वर्गदूत ने कहा, "यदि तुम जीवित रहना चाहते हो तो शीघ्र भागो और पीछे मत देखना! और घाटी में कहीं भी मत रुकना! पहाड़ों पर भाग जाओ! यदि तुम ऐसा नहीं करते, तो तुम मर जाओगे!" BSB BSB: As soon as the men had brought them out, one of them said, “Run for your lives! Do not look back, and do not stop anywhere on the plain! Flee to the mountains, or you will be swept away!”
18 UDB लेकिन लूत ने उनमें से एक से कहा, "नहीं, महोदय, मुझसे ऐसा मत करवाओ! BSB BSB: But Lot replied, “No, my lords, please!
19 UDB कृपया, सुनो। आप मुझसे प्रसन्न हैं और मेरे लिए बहुत दयालु हैं और आप ने मेरी जान बचाई है। लेकिन मैं भाग कर पहाड़ों पर नहीं जा सकता। यदि मैं ऐसा करने का प्रयास करता हूँँ, तो मैं मारा जाऊँगा। BSB BSB: Your servant has indeed found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great kindness by sparing my life. But I cannot run to the mountains; the disaster will overtake me, and I will die.
20 UDB कृपया मेरी बात सुनें। यहाँ पास में एक नगर है। मुझे वहाँ भागने दें। वह सिर्फ एक छोटा सा नगर है यदि आप उसे नष्ट न करें तो हम वहाँ जा कर अपना जीवन बचा पाएँगे।" BSB BSB: Look, there is a town nearby where I can flee, and it is a small place. Please let me flee there—is it not a small place? Then my life will be saved.”
21 UDB स्वर्गदूतों में से एक ने लूत से कहा, "ठीक है, मैं तुझे ऐसा भी करने दूँगा। मैं उस नगर को नष्ट नहीं करूँगा जिसके विषय में तू कह रहा है। BSB BSB: “Very well,” he answered, “I will grant this request as well, and will not demolish the town you indicate.
22 UDB लेकिन जल्दी भाग के वहाँ जाओ क्योंकि जब तक तुम वहाँ पहुँचते नहीं मैं सदोम को नष्ट नहीं कर सकता।" लोगों ने बाद में इस नगर को सोअर नाम दिया, जिसका अर्थ है 'महत्वपूर्ण नहीं', क्योंकि लूत ने कहा कि यह एक छोटा सा गांव था। BSB BSB: Hurry! Run there quickly, for I cannot do anything until you reach it.” That is why the town was called Zoar.

25 UDB इस प्रकार यहोवा ने उन नगरों को जला दिया और पूरी घाटी के सभी लोगों को जो उन नगरों में निवास करते थे। उन्होंने घाटी के प्रत्येक को यहाँ तक की सभी पेड़ पौधों को भी नष्ट कर दिया। BSB BSB: Thus He destroyed these cities and the entire plain, including all the inhabitants of the cities and everything that grew on the ground.
26 UDB लेकिन लूत की पत्नी रुक कर पीछे पलटी कि देखें क्या हो रहा है इसलिए वह मर गई और उसका शरीर बाद में नमक का खंभा बन गया। BSB BSB: But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 UDB उसी सुबह अब्राहम उठकर उस स्थान पर गया जहाँ वह यहोवा के सामने खड़ा था। BSB BSB: Early the next morning, Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the LORD.
28 UDB उसने सदोम और गमोरा की ओर देखा, और देखकर आश्चर्यचकित हुआ कि सारी घाटी से, एक विशाल भट्ठी के समान धुआँ निकल रहा था। BSB BSB: He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and all the land of the plain, and he saw the smoke rising from the land like smoke from a furnace.
29 UDB जब परमेश्वर ने घाटी में उन नगरों को नष्ट कर दिया, तब परमेश्वर अब्राहम की सहायता करना नहीं भूले और लूत के नगर को नष्ट करते समय लूत को बचा लिया। BSB BSB: So when God destroyed the cities of the plain, He remembered Abraham, and He brought Lot out of the catastrophe that destroyed the cities where he had lived.
32 UDB आओ, हम अपने पिता को मदिरापान करा कर बेसुध कर दें और उसके अनजाने ही उसके साथ सोएं। इस प्रकार हम अपने वंश के लिए संतान उत्पन्न करें जो संतान आगे हमारे पिता के वंशज होंगे।" BSB BSB: Come, let us get our father drunk with wine so we can sleep with him and preserve his line.”
33 UDB इसलिए उस रात उन्होंने अपने पिता को दाखमधु पिलाकर नशे में किया। बड़ी पुत्री अंदर गई और अपने पिता के साथ सहवास किया, लेकिन वह इतना नशे में था कि उसे पता नहीं था कि वह कब उसके पास आई और कब चली गई। BSB BSB: So that night they got their father drunk with wine, and the firstborn went in and slept with her father; he was not aware when she lay down or when she got up.
34 UDB अगले दिन उसकी बड़ी पुत्री ने उसकी छोटी पुत्री से कहा, "मैं कल रात पिता के साथ सोई थी। हम उसे आज भी दाखमधु पिलाकर नशे में कर देंगे और आज तू जाकर उसके साथ सहवास करना, इस प्रकार तू भी गर्भवती होकर संतान प्राप्त कर सकती है।" BSB BSB: The next day the older daughter said to the younger, “Look, I slept with my father last night. Let us get him drunk with wine again tonight so you can go in and sleep with him and we can preserve our father’s line.”
35 UDB इसलिए उस रात, उन्होंने अपने पिता को फिर से दाखमधु पिलाया और उसकी छोटी पुत्री अन्दर गयी और उसके साथ सो गई। लेकिन फिर, वह इतना अधिक नशे में था कि उसे पता नहीं था कि वह कब उसके पास आई और कब चली गई। BSB BSB: So again that night they got their father drunk with wine, and the younger daughter went in and slept with him; he was not aware when she lay down or when she got up.
36 UDB इस कारण लूत अपनी दोनों पुत्रियों के गर्भवती होने का कारण बना। BSB BSB: Thus both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father.
37 UDB बड़ी पुत्री ने एक पुत्र को जन्म दिया। उसने लड़के का नाम मोआब रखा। वह मोआबियों का पूर्वज बना। BSB BSB: The older daughter gave birth to a son and named him Moab. He is the father of the Moabites of today.
38 UDB छोटी पुत्री ने भी एक पुत्र को जन्म दिया, जिसे उसने बेनअम्मी नाम दिया। वह अम्मोनियों का पूर्वज बना। BSB BSB: The younger daughter also gave birth to a son, and she named him Ben-ammi. He is the father of the Ammonites of today.
