1 UDB याकूब ने अपने सभी पुत्रों को बुलाया और उनसे कहा, BSB BSB: Then Jacob called for his sons and said, “Gather around so that I can tell you what will happen to you in the days to come:
2 UDB "मेरे पास एकत्र हो जाओ कि मैं भविष्य के विषय में तुम्हें बताऊँ। हे मेरे पुत्रों, बात सुनो। मैं तुम्हारा पिता, याकूब हूँँ। BSB BSB: Come together and listen, O sons of Jacob; listen to your father Israel.
3 UDB रूबेन, तू मेरा प्रथम पुत्र है। जब मैं जवान और उर्जावान था तब तेरा जन्म हुआ था। जब मैं जवान हुआ तब तू मुझसे उत्पन्न हुआ। तू मेरे शेष पुत्रों से अधिक अभिमानी और बलवन्त है। BSB BSB: Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, excelling in honor, excelling in power.
4 UDB लेकिन तू समुद्र की लहरों के समान अस्थिर है। इसलिए तू अन्य भाइयों से अधिक महत्वपूर्ण नहीं हो सकेगा क्योंकि तू उस स्त्री के साथ सोया जो तेरे पिता की रखैल थी। जिसके कारण मुझे अर्थात तेरे पिता को लज्जित होना पड़ा था। BSB BSB: Uncontrolled as the waters, you will no longer excel, because you went up to your father’s bed, onto my couch, and defiled it.
5 UDB शिमोन और लेवी, तुम दोनों भाइयों ने अपराधियों के समान काम किया है। तुम हिंसक कार्य करने के लिए अपनी तलवारों का उपयोग करते हो। BSB BSB: Simeon and Levi are brothers; their swords are weapons of violence.
6 UDB तुम जब बुरी योजना बनाते हो तब मैं तुम्हारे साथ रहना नहीं चाहता। मैं तुम्हारी सभाओं में सम्मान का भागी नहीं बनना चाहता क्योंकि तुम ने क्रोधित हो कर हत्याएँ की हैं और अपने मनोरंजन मात्र के लिए बैलों को चोट पहुँचाई है। BSB BSB: May I never enter their council; may I never join their assembly. 7 UDB परमेश्वर कहते हैं, 'उनके अत्याधिक क्रोध के लिए मैं उन्हें श्रापित ठहराता हूँ क्योंकि क्रोध में आ कर वे निर्दयी हो गए थे। मैं उनके वंशजों को संपूर्ण इस्राएल में तितर-बितर कर दूँगा।' BSB BSB: Cursed be their anger, for it is strong, and their wrath, for it is cruel! I will disperse them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel.
8 UDB यहूदा, तेरे बड़े और छोटे भाई तेरी प्रशंसा करेंगे। वे तेरे सामने झुकेंगे क्योंकि तू अपने शत्रुओं को अच्छी तरह से पराजित करेगा। BSB BSB: Judah, your brothers shall praise you. Your hand shall be on the necks of your enemies; your father’s sons shall bow down to you.
9 UDB यहूदा एक जवान सिंह के समान है जो पशु का मांस खा कर संतोष से अपनी मांद में आ गया है। वह एक सिंह के सदृश्य है जो शिकार खा कर विश्राम करता है और उसके पास जाने का साहस किसी में नहीं होता। BSB BSB: Judah is a young lion—my son, you return from the prey. Like a lion he crouches and lies down; like a lioness, who dares to rouse him?
10 UDB यहूदा के वंशजों में हमेशा एक शासक होगा और उनमें से हर एक राजदंड पकड़ेगा यह दिखने के लिए कि उसके पास राजा के समान अधिकार है। वह ऐसा तब तक करेगा जब तक राष्ट्र उसकी आज्ञा का पालन न करें और उसकी स्तुति न करें। BSB BSB: The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the staff from between his feet, until Shiloh comes and the allegiance of the nations is his.
11 UDB उसके वंशजों के दाख के बागों में बहुत पैदावार होगी। परिणामस्वरूप वे उनमें युवा गदहों को बांधने पर आपत्ति नहीं जताएँगे और गदहे दाखलता की पत्तियाँ खायेंगे। उनके दाखो की फसल इतनी अधिक होगी कि वे उसके रस में अपने वस्त्र धोयेंगे। वे अपने वस्त्र दाखमधु में धोयेंगे जो रक्त के समान लाल रंग का होगा। BSB BSB: He ties his donkey to the vine, his colt to the choicest branch. He washes his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes.
12 UDB बहुत अधिक दाखमधु पीने के कारण उनकी आँखें लाल होंगी, लेकिन गायों से दूध पीने के कारण उनके दाँत बहुत सफेद होंगे। BSB BSB: His eyes are darker than wine, and his teeth are whiter than milk.
13 UDB जबूलून, तेरे वंशज समुद्र तट पर वास करेंगे जहाँ जहाजों के लिए सुरक्षित बंदरगाह होंगे। उनका देश उत्तर दिशा में सीदोन तक फैल जाएगा। BSB BSB: Zebulun shall dwell by the seashore and become a harbor for ships; his border shall extend to Sidon.
14 UDB इस्साकार, तेरे वंशज बलशाली गधों के समान होंगे जो भेड़ों के दो झुंडों के मध्य लेटते हैं। और इतने थके हुए होते हैं कि खड़े नहीं हो सकते। BSB BSB: Issachar is a strong donkey, lying down between the sheepfolds.
15 UDB वे देखेंगे कि उनका विश्राम स्थान अच्छा है और उनकी भूमि उन्हें प्रसन्न कर देगी। लेकिन वे भारी बोझ उठाने के लिए झुकेंगे। और दूसरों के लिए परिश्रम करने के लिए विवश किए जाएँगे। BSB BSB: He saw that his resting place was good and that his land was pleasant, so he bent his shoulder to the burden and submitted to labor as a servant.
16 UDB दान, यद्यपि तेरा गोत्र छोटा होगा परन्तु उसके अगुवे इस्राएल के अन्य गोत्रों के अगुवों के समान उनके लोगो पर शासन करेंगे। BSB BSB: Dan shall provide justice for his people as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 UDB तेरे वंशज मार्ग के किनारे के विषैले साँपो के समान होंगे। जो आने जाने वाले घोड़ो के पैरों को डसेंगे की उनके सवार पीछे की ओर गिर पड़े और घोड़े डंसे हुए पैरों से आगे बढ़ जाएं।" BSB BSB: He will be a snake by the road, a viper in the path that bites the horse’s heels so that its rider tumbles backward.
18 UDB तब याकूब ने प्रार्थना की, "हे यहोवा, मैं प्रतीक्षा कर रहा हूँ कि आप आ के मुझे शत्रुओं से बचाएं।" BSB BSB: I await Your salvation, O LORD.
19 UDB तब याकूब अपने पुत्रों को भविष्य के विषय में बताता गया। उसने कहा, "गाद, तेरे गोत्र पर लुटेरे आक्रमण करेंगे परन्तु तेरा गोत्र उनका पीछा करके उन पर वार करेगा। BSB BSB: Gad will be attacked by raiders, but he will attack their heels.
20 UDB आशेर, तेरे वंशज स्वादिष्ट भोजन खायेंगे। वे भोज्य सामग्री उपजाएंगे ऐसा भोजन जो राजाओं के खाने के लिए पर्याप्त स्वादिष्ट होता है। BSB BSB: Asher’s food will be rich; he shall provide royal delicacies.
21 UDB नप्ताली, तेरे वंशज स्वतंत्र दौड़ने वाले हिरण के समान होंगे, हिरण जिनके पास खूबसूरत बच्चे होते हैं। BSB BSB: Naphtali is a doe set free that bears beautiful fawns.
22 UDB यूसुफ तेरे वंशज अनगिनत होंगे। तेरी संतान जल के स्रोत के निकट लगाई गई दाखलता के फलों के समान अनगिनत होगी, जिनकी शाखाएँ दीवार पर फैली हुई होंगी। BSB BSB: Joseph is a fruitful vine—a fruitful vine by a spring, whose branches scale the wall.
23 UDB शत्रु उन पर हमला करेंगे, और तीर धनुष से छोड़कर उनका पीछा करेंगे। BSB BSB: The archers attacked him with bitterness; they aimed at him in hostility.
24 UDB लेकिन मेरे सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर के सामर्थ से उनके धनुष दृढ़ रहेंगे और उनकी भुजाएँ ताकतवर रहेंगी, क्योंकि यहोवा ही मेरे मार्गदर्शक और पालनहार हैं। वैसे ही जैसे चरवाहा अपनी भेंड़ो का मार्गदर्शक और पालनहार होता है। इस्राएल के लोग यहोवा से रक्षा करने के लिए कहेंगे, जैसे लोग एक ऊँची चट्टान के शिखर पर शरण लेते हैं। BSB BSB: Yet he steadied his bow, and his strong arms were tempered by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, in the name of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,
25 UDB जिन परमेश्वर की मैं आराधना करता हूँ, वे तेरे वंशजों के साथ होंगें। सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर उन्हें आकाश से वर्षा भेज कर आशीषित करेगें और उन्हें भूगर्भ का जल देगें। वह उन्हें अनेक संतान देकर पालन भी करेगें। BSB BSB: by the God of your father who helps you, and by the Almighty who blesses you, with blessings of the heavens above, with blessings of the depths below, with blessings of the breasts and womb.
26 UDB मैं तेरे लिए परमेश्वर से जो आशीष मांगता हूँ, वे आशीषे महान हैं। वे पहाडों से आने वाली आशीषों से और पर्वतों की आशीषों से भी अधिक महान है। उस शाश्वत पर्वत से आने वाली आशीषे भी महान हैं, यूसुफ मैं प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि ये आशीषे तुझे मिले क्योंकि तू ने अपने भाइयों का नेतृत्व किया है। BSB BSB: The blessings of your father have surpassed the blessings of the ancient mountains and the bounty of the everlasting hills. May they rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince of his brothers.
27 UDB बिन्यामीन, तेरे वंशज खूंखार भेड़ियों के समान होंगे। सुबह के समय वे अपने शत्रुओं को ऐसा मारेंगें जैसे भेड़िया अपना शिकार फाड़ता है और शाम को वे अपने शत्रुओं से योद्धाओं द्वारा छिनकर लायी गई बची हुई लूट को बाटेंगे।" BSB BSB: Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; in the morning he devours the prey, in the evening he divides the plunder.”
28 UDB वे बारह पुत्र इस्राएल के बारह गोत्रों के पूर्वज हैं। उनके पिता ने उन्हें आशीर्वाद देते समय प्रत्येक से उसके लिए उपयुक्त वचन कहे। BSB BSB: These are the tribes of Israel, twelve in all, and this was what their father said to them. He blessed them, and he blessed each one with a suitable blessing.

30 UDB मकपेला का खेत मेम्रे के पूर्व में है जो कनान देश है। अब्राहम ने उसे एप्रोन से खरीदा था कि वह दफन स्थल हो। BSB BSB: The cave is in the field of Machpelah near Mamre, in the land of Canaan. This is the field Abraham purchased from Ephron the Hittite as a burial site.
31 UDB वहीं अब्राहम और उसकी पत्नी को दफन किया गया था। वहीं मेरे पिता इसहाक और उसकी पत्नी रिबका को रखा गया था। वहीं मैंने अपनी पत्नी लिआ के शरीर को दफनाया था। BSB BSB: There Abraham and his wife Sarah are buried, there Isaac and his wife Rebekah are buried, and there I buried Leah.
32 UDB वह खेत और वह गुफा हित्तियों से खरीदी गई थी। मैं चाहता हूँ कि तुम मुझे भी वहीं दफनाओ।" BSB BSB: The field and the cave that is in it were purchased from the Hittites.”
33 UDB अपने पुत्रों को ये निर्देश देकर वह अपने बिस्तर पर लेट गया और प्राण त्याग दिए। BSB BSB: When Jacob had finished instructing his sons, he pulled his feet into the bed and breathed his last, and he was gathered to his people.
