They must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them, for they can do no harm, and neither can they do any good.”

7 UDB आप सब जातियों के राजा हो! सबको आपका सम्मान करना और भय मानना चाहिए, क्योंकि आप इसके योग्य हैं। पृथ्वी के सब बुद्धिमान लोगों में और उन सब साम्राज्यों में जहाँ वे रहते हैं, आपके जैसा कोई नहीं है। BSB BSB: Who would not fear You, O King of nations? This is Your due. For among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like You.
8 UDB वे लोग जो सोचते हैं कि वे बहुत बुद्धिमान हैं मूर्ख और निर्बुद्धि हैं। वे मूर्तियों की पूजा करते हैं जो केवल लकड़ी से बने होते हैं! वे निश्चय ही उन्हें कुछ नहीं सिखा सकती हैं। BSB BSB: But they are altogether senseless and foolish, instructed by worthless idols made of wood!
9 UDB लोग तर्शीश से पत्तर बनाई हुई चाँदी और ऊफाज से सोना लाते हैं, और फिर वे मूर्तियों पर चढ़ाने के लिए कुशल कारीगरों को वह चाँदी और सोने के पत्तर देते हैं। फिर वे कुशल कारीगरों द्वारा बनाई गई उन मूर्तियों को महँगा बैंगनी वस्त्र पहनाते हैं। BSB BSB: Hammered silver is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz—the work of a craftsman from the hands of a goldsmith. Their clothes are blue and purple, all fashioned by skilled workers.
10 UDB परन्तु यहोवा ही एकमात्र सच्चे परमेश्वर हैं; वह सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर हैं, राजा हैं, जो सदा के लिए शासन करते हैं। जब वह क्रोधित होते हैं, तो सारी पृथ्वी हिल जाती है; और देश-देश के लोगों से जब वह क्रोधित होते हैं तो वे लोग इसे सहन नहीं कर सकते हैं। BSB BSB: But the LORD is the true God; He is the living God and eternal King. The earth quakes at His wrath, and the nations cannot endure His indignation.
11 UDB तुम इस्राएली लोग, उन लोगों को यह कहो: “उन मूर्तियों ने आकाश और पृथ्वी नहीं बनाई, और वे पृथ्वी पर से नष्ट हो जाएँगी।” BSB BSB: Thus you are to tell them: “These gods, who have made neither the heavens nor the earth, will perish from this earth and from under these heavens.”
12 UDB परन्तु यहोवा ने सारी पृथ्वी को अपनी शक्ति से बनाया; अपनी बुद्धि से उन्होंने खड़े होने के लिए ठोस भूमि बनाई है और अपनी समझ से आकाश को फैलाया। BSB BSB: The LORD made the earth by His power; He established the world by His wisdom and stretched out the heavens by His understanding.
13 UDB जब वह ऊँचे शब्द से बोलते हैं, आकाश में गर्जन होती है; वह बादलों को पृथ्वी के हर भाग में बनने का कारण बनते हैं। वह वर्षा के साथ बिजली चमकाते हैं, और अपने भण्डार से हवाओं को चलाते हैं। BSB BSB: When He thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He generates the lightning with the rain and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.
14 UDB लोग पशुओं के समान मूर्ख हैं और परमेश्वर की इच्छाओं के विषय में कुछ भी नहीं जानते! जो मूर्तियाँ बनाते हैं वे सदा निराश होते हैं क्योंकि उनकी मूर्तियाँ उनके लिए कुछ भी नहीं करती हैं। वे जो प्रतिमाएँ बनाते हैं वे वास्तविक देवता नहीं हैं; वे निर्जीव हैं। BSB BSB: Every man is senseless and devoid of knowledge; every goldsmith is put to shame by his idols. For his molten images are a fraud, and there is no breath in them.
15 UDB मूर्तियाँ निकम्मी हैं; वे सच्चे परमेश्वर का उपहास करने की वस्तुएँ हैं; एक ऐसा समय आएगा जब वे सब नष्ट हो जाएँगी। BSB BSB: They are worthless, a work to be mocked. In the time of their punishment they will perish.
16 UDB परन्तु जिस परमेश्वर की हम इस्राएली लोग आराधना करते हैं वह उन मूर्तियों के समान नहीं हैं; उन्होंने ही सब कुछ बनाया है; हम, इस्राएल के गोत्र, उनके हैं; वह स्वर्गदूतों की सेनाओं के प्रधान हैं। BSB BSB: The Portion of Jacob is not like these, for He is the Maker of all things, and Israel is the tribe of His inheritance—the LORD of Hosts is His name.
17 UDB यहोवा यरूशलेम के लोगों से यह कहते हैं: “तुम्हारे शत्रुओं की सेना तुम्हारे शहर को घेर रही है, अतः अपनी सम्पत्ति इकट्ठा करो और शहर छोड़ने के लिए तैयार हो जाओ। BSB BSB: Gather up your belongings from this land, you who live under siege.
18 UDB मैं शीघ्र ही तुम्हें इस देश से बाहर फेंक दूँगा और तुमको घोर संकट का सामना करना पड़ेगा, परिणामस्वरूप तुम फिर से मेरा स्मरण करोगे।” BSB BSB: For this is what the LORD says: “Behold, at this time I will sling out the inhabitants of the land and bring distress upon them so that they may be captured.”
19 UDB लोगों ने उत्तर दिया, “यह ऐसा है जैसे कि हम बुरी तरह से घायल हो गए हैं, और हम बहुत दुखी हैं; यह ऐसा है जैसे हमें गम्भीर रोग लग गया है, और हमें पीड़ा सहन करनी होगी। BSB BSB: Woe to me because of my brokenness; my wound is grievous! But I said, “This is truly my sickness, and I must bear it.”

My sons have departed from me and are no more. I have no one left to pitch my tent or set up my curtains.
21 UDB हमारे अगुवे पशुओं के समान बन गए हैं; वे अब मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए यहोवा से नहीं कहते हैं, तो वे अब समृद्ध नहीं होंगे, और जिनके ऊपर वे शासन करते हैं वे सब तितर-बितर कर दिए जाएँगे। BSB BSB: For the shepherds have become senseless; they do not seek the LORD. Therefore they have not prospered, and all their flock is scattered.
22 UDB सुनो! उत्तर दिशा में हमारे शत्रु की सेनाएँ हमारी ओर बढ़ते हुए बहुत शोर कर रही हैं। यहूदा के नगरों को नष्ट कर दिया जाएगा, और वे सियारों के रहने का स्थान बन जाएँगे।” BSB BSB: Listen! The sound of a report is coming—a great commotion from the land to the north. It will make the cities of Judah a desolation, a haunt for jackals.
23 UDB हे यहोवा, मैं जानता हूँ कि मनुष्य का भविष्य उसके वश में नहीं है; होने वाली घटनाओं को निर्देशित करना किसी के वश में नहीं होता है। BSB BSB: I know, O LORD, that a man’s way is not his own; no one who walks directs his own steps.
24 UDB अतः हमें सुधारें, परन्तु धीरे-धीरे। क्रोध में आकर हमारा सुधार न करें, यदि आप ऐसा करेंगे तो हम अवश्य मर जाएँगे। BSB BSB: Correct me, O LORD, but only with justice—not in Your anger, or You will bring me to nothing.
25 UDB उन सब जातियों को दण्ड दें जो स्वीकार नहीं करती कि आप ही परमेश्वर हैं; उन सब जातियों को दण्ड दें जो आपकी आराधना नहीं करती है, क्योंकि वे हमें, इस्राएल के लोगों को, पूरी तरह नष्ट कर रहे हैं और वे हमारी भूमि को शीघ्र ही बंजर बना देंगे। BSB BSB: Pour out Your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge You, and on the families that do not call on Your name. For they have devoured Jacob; they have consumed him and finished him off; they have devastated his homeland.
