1 UDB अराद शहर का राजा दक्षिणी यहूदिया के मरुस्थल में रहता था जहाँ कनानी रहते थे। उसने समाचार सुना कि इस्राएली अतारीम गांव के मार्ग से आ रहे हैं। तो उसकी सेना ने इस्राएलियों पर आक्रमण किया और उनमें से कुछ लोगों को पकड़ लिया। BSB BSB: When the Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev, heard that Israel was coming along the road to Atharim, he attacked Israel and captured some prisoners.
2 UDB तब इस्राएलियों ने यह मन्नत मानी, “हे यहोवा, यदि आप इन लोगों को हराने में हमारी सहायता करेंगे, तो हम उनके सभी नगरों को पूरी तरह नष्ट कर देंगे।” BSB BSB: So Israel made a vow to the LORD: “If You will deliver this people into our hands, we will devote their cities to destruction.”
3 UDB यहोवा ने उनकी विनती को सुना और उन्हें कनानियों की सेना को पराजित करने योग्य कर दिया। इस्राएली सैनिकों ने सभी लोगों को मार डाला और उनके नगरों को नष्ट कर दिया। उस समय से, उस जगह को होर्मा कहा जाता है जिसका अर्थ है “विनाश।” BSB BSB: And the LORD heard Israel’s plea and delivered up the Canaanites. Israel devoted them and their cities to destruction; so they named the place Hormah.

There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”
6 UDB तब यहोवा ने उनके बीच जहरीले सांप भेजे। बहुत से लोगों को सांपों ने काटा और वे मर गए। BSB BSB: So the LORD sent venomous snakes among the people, and many of the Israelites were bitten and died.
7 UDB तब लोग मूसा के पास आए और कहा, “अब हम जानते हैं कि हमने यहोवा के विरुद्ध और तेरे विरूद्ध पाप किया है। यहोवा से प्रार्थना कर, कि वह सांपों को हटा दे!” इसलिए मूसा ने लोगों के लिए प्रार्थना की। BSB BSB: Then the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you. Intercede with the LORD so He will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses interceded for the people.
8 UDB तब यहोवा ने उससे कहा, “इस जहरीले सांप की एक प्रतिमा बना, और उसे खम्भे के ऊपर लटका दे। यदि सांपों के द्वारा काटे गए लोग उस प्रतिमा को देखेंगे तो बच हो जाएंगे।” BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and mount it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks at it, he will live.”
9 UDB तब मूसा ने पीतल का एक सांप बनाया और उसे खम्भे के ऊपर लटका दिया। फिर, जब सांप लोगों को काटते थे और वे उस पीतल के सांप को देखते थे, तो वे बच जाते थे! BSB BSB: So Moses made a bronze snake and mounted it on a pole. If anyone who was bitten looked at the bronze snake, he would live.
10 UDB तब इस्राएली यात्रा करके ओबोत गए और वहां पर छावनी डाली। BSB BSB: Then the Israelites set out and camped at Oboth.
11 UDB फिर उन्होंने ओबोत छोड़ा और मोआब की पूर्वी सीमा पर मरुस्थल में इए अबारीम के पास गए। BSB BSB: They journeyed from Oboth and camped at Iye-abarim in the wilderness opposite Moab to the east.
12 UDB वहां से उन्होंने उस घाटी की ओर यात्रा की जहाँ जेरेद नदी है, और वहां छावनी डाली। BSB BSB: From there they set out and camped in the Valley of Zered.
13 UDB फिर वे अर्नोन नदी के उत्तर की ओर गए। वह क्षेत्र मरुस्थल में उस भूमि के बगल में है जहाँ अमोरी लोग रहते हैं। अर्नोन नदी मोआबियों और एमोरियों के बीच की सीमा है। BSB BSB: From there they moved on and camped on the other side of the Arnon, in the wilderness that extends into the Amorite territory. Now the Arnon is the border between the Moabites and the Amorites.
14 UDB यही कारण है कि यह यहोवा के युद्धों की पुस्तक में लिखा गया है, “सूपा में वाहेब, और वहां की घाटी, और अर्नोन नदी BSB BSB: Therefore it is stated in the Book of the Wars of the LORD: “Waheb in Suphah and the wadis of the Arnon,

16 UDB वहां से इस्राएलियों ने बेर की ओर यात्रा की। वहां एक कुआं था जहाँ यहोवा ने पहले मूसा से कहा था, “लोगों को इकट्ठा करो, और मैं उन्हें पानी दूँगा।” BSB BSB: From there they went on to Beer, the well where the LORD said to Moses, “Gather the people so that I may give them water.”

19 UDB इस्राएली नहलीएल और बामोत गाँव से भी निकल गए। BSB BSB: and from Mattanah to Nahaliel, and from Nahaliel to Bamoth,
20 UDB तब वे मोआब की घाटी में गए, जहाँ पिसगा पर्वत जंगल से ऊपर उठता है। BSB BSB: and from Bamoth to the valley in Moab where the top of Pisgah overlooks the wasteland.
21 UDB तब इस्राएलियों ने एमोरी लोगों के राजा सीहोन के पास दूत भेजे। उन्होंने उसे यह सन्देश दिया था, BSB BSB: Then Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,
22 UDB “हमें अपने देश से यात्रा करने की अनुमति दीजिए। हम राजमार्ग पर ही रहेंगे, वह मुख्य मार्ग जो दक्षिण से उत्तर तक जाता है, जब तक कि हम तुम्हारी भूमि से यात्रा नहीं कर लेते। हम किसी भी खेत या दाख की बारी से होकर नहीं चलेंगे नही तुम्हारे कुओं से पानी पीएंगे।" BSB BSB: “Let us pass through your land. We will not turn aside into any field or vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s Highway until we have passed through your territory.”
23 UDB लेकिन राजा सीहोन ने इन्कार कर दिया। उसने उन्हें अपने देश में से होकर जाने की अनुमति नहीं दी। इसकी अपेक्षा उसने अपनी पूरी सेना को मरुस्थल में इस्राएलियों पर हमला करने के लिए भेजा। उन्होंने यहस गाँव में इस्राएलियों पर हमला किया। BSB BSB: But Sihon would not let Israel pass through his territory. Instead, he gathered his whole army and went out to confront Israel in the wilderness. When he came to Jahaz, he fought against Israel.
24 UDB परन्तु इस्राएलियों ने उन्हें पूरी तरह से पराजित कर दिया और दक्षिण में अर्नोन नदी से उत्तर में यब्बोक नदी तक उनकी भूमि पर कब्जा कर लिया। वे उस देश की सीमा पर रुक गए जहाँ अम्मोनी लोगों रहते थे, क्योंकि अम्मोन की सेना सीमा की रक्षा कर रही थी। BSB BSB: And Israel put him to the sword and took possession of his land, from the Arnon to the Jabbok—but only up to the border of the Ammonites, because it was fortified.
25 UDB इसलिए इस्राएलियों ने उन सभी शहरों और नगरों पर कब्जा कर लिया जहाँ अमोरी रहते थे, और कुछ इस्राएली वहाँ रहने लगे। उन्होंने हेशबोन और आसपास के गांवों पर कब्जा कर लिया। BSB BSB: Israel captured all the cities of the Amorites and occupied them, including Heshbon and all its villages.
26 UDB हेशबोन उस देश की राजधानी थी। यह वह शहर था जहाँ से राजा सीहोन शासन करता था। उसकी सेना ने पहले मोआब के राजा की सेना को पराजित कर दिया था, और उसके बाद उसके लोग मोआब के सारे देश में, दक्षिण में अर्नोन नदी तक रहने लगे थे। BSB BSB: Heshbon was the city of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab and taken all his land as far as the Arnon.

28 UDB हेशबोन से आग निकली। उसने मोआब में आर के शहर को जला दिया। उसने अर्नोन नदी के किनारे की पहाड़ियों पर सबकुछ नष्ट कर दिया। BSB BSB: For a fire went out from Heshbon, a blaze from the city of Sihon. It consumed Ar of Moab, the rulers of Arnon’s heights.
29 UDB हे मोआब के लोगों, तुम्हारे साथ भयानक बातें हुई हैं! तुम लोग जो अपने देवता कमोश की पूजा करते हो, नष्ट हो गए हो! जो लोग कमोश की पूजा करते हैं वे भाग गए हैं और अब शरणार्थी बन गए हैं, और जो महिलाएं उसकी पूजा करती थीं, उन्हें एमोरी लोगों के राजा सीहोन की सेना ने बन्दी बना लिया। BSB BSB: Woe to you, O Moab! You are destroyed, O people of Chemosh! He gave up his sons as refugees, and his daughters into captivity to Sihon king of the Amorites.
30 UDB परन्तु हमने एमोर के उन वंशजों को पराजित किया है, उत्तर में हेशबोन से लेकर दक्षिण में दीबोन शहर तक सभी स्थानों में। हमने उन्हें नोपह और मेदबा के नगरों तक पूरी तरह से मिटा दिया है।“ BSB BSB: But we have overthrown them; Heshbon is destroyed as far as Dibon. We demolished them as far as Nophah, which reaches to Medeba.”
31 UDB तब इस्राएली लोग उस देश में रहने लगे जहाँ एमोरी रहते थे। BSB BSB: So Israel lived in the land of the Amorites.
32 UDB जब मूसा ने याजेर शहर के पास के क्षेत्र की छान-बीन करने के लिए कुछ लोगों को भेजा, तब इस्राएली लोग उस क्षेत्र के सभी नगरों में रहने लगे और वहां रहने वाले एमोरी लोगों को निकाल कर बाहर कर दिया। BSB BSB: After Moses had sent spies to Jazer, Israel captured its villages and drove out the Amorites who were there.
33 UDB तब वे उत्तर की ओर बाशान के क्षेत्र की ओर गए, परन्तु बाशान के राजा ओग और उसकी सारी सेना ने उन पर एद्रेई शहर में आक्रमण किया। BSB BSB: Then they turned and went up the road to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan and his whole army came out to meet them in battle at Edrei.
34 UDB यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा, “ओग से मत डरो, क्योंकि मैं तेरे लोगों को उसे और उसकी सेना को हराने और उनकी सारी भूमि पर अधिकार करने में सक्षम करूँगा। तुम उसके साथ वैसा ही करोगे जैसा तुमने हेशबोन में रह कर शासन करनेवाले एमोरियों के राजा सीहोन के साथ किया था।" BSB BSB: But the LORD said to Moses, “Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.”
35 UDB और ऐसा ही हुआ। इस्राएलियों ने ओग की सेना को हरा दिया, और राजा ओग और उसके पुत्रों और उसके सभी लोगों को मार डाला। एक भी व्यक्ति बच नहीं पाया! और फिर इस्राएली उनके देश में रहने लगे। BSB BSB: So they struck down Og, along with his sons and his whole army, until no remnant was left. And they took possession of his land.
