1इस्राएलियों के मिस्र देश से निकल जाने के दूसरे वर्ष के दूसरे महीने के पहले दिन को, यहोवा ने सीनै के जंगल में मिलापवाले तम्बू में, मूसा से कहा,On the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt, the LORD spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Wilderness of Sinai. He said:

2“इस्राएलियों की सारी मण्डली के कुलों और पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार, एक-एक पुरुष की गिनती नाम ले लेकर करना।“Take a census of the whole congregation of Israel by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one.

3जितने इस्राएली बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के हों, और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य हों, उन सभी को उनके दलों के अनुसार तू और हारून गिन ले।You and Aaron are to number those who are twenty years of age or older by their divisions—everyone who can serve in Israel’s army.

4और तुम्हारे साथ प्रत्येक गोत्र का एक पुरुष भी हो जो अपने पितरों के घराने का मुख्य पुरुष हो।And one man from each tribe, the head of each family, must be there with you.

5तुम्हारे उन साथियों के नाम ये हैं: रूबेन के गोत्र में से शदेऊर का पुत्र एलीसूर;These are the names of the men who are to assist you: From the tribe of Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;

6शिमोन के गोत्र में से सूरीशद्दै का पुत्र शलूमीएल;from Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;

7यहूदा के गोत्र में से अम्मीनादाब का पुत्र नहशोन;from Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;

8इस्साकार के गोत्र में से सूआर का पुत्र नतनेल;from Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;

9जबूलून के गोत्र में से हेलोन का पुत्र एलीआब;from Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;

10यूसुफ वंशियों में से ये हैं, अर्थात् एप्रैम के गोत्र में से अम्मीहूद का पुत्र एलीशामा, और मनश्शे के गोत्र में से पदासूर का पुत्र गम्लीएल;from the sons of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud, and from Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;

11बिन्यामीन के गोत्र में से गिदोनी का पुत्र अबीदान;from Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;

12दान के गोत्र में से अम्मीशद्दै का पुत्र अहीएजेर;from Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;

13आशेर के गोत्र में से ओक्रान का पुत्र पगीएल;from Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran;

14गाद के गोत्र में से दूएल का पुत्र एल्यासाप;from Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;

15नप्ताली के गोत्र में से एनान का पुत्र अहीरा।”and from Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.”

16मण्डली में से जो पुरुष अपने-अपने पितरों के गोत्रों के प्रधान होकर बुलाए गए, वे ये ही हैं, और ये इस्राएलियों के हज़ारों में मुख्य पुरुष थे।These men were appointed from the congregation; they were the leaders of the tribes of their fathers, the heads of the clans of Israel.

17जिन पुरुषों के नाम ऊपर लिखे हैं उनको साथ लेकर मूसा और हारून ने,So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,

18दूसरे महीने के पहले दिन सारी मण्डली इकट्ठी की, तब इस्राएलियों ने अपने-अपने कुल और अपने-अपने पितरों के घराने के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु वालों के नामों की गिनती करवा के अपनी-अपनी वंशावली लिखवाई;and on the first day of the second month they assembled the whole congregation and recorded their ancestry by clans and families, counting one by one the names of those twenty years of age or older,

19जिस प्रकार यहोवा ने मूसा को आज्ञा दी थी उसी के अनुसार उसने सीनै के जंगल में उनकी गणना की।just as the LORD had commanded Moses. So Moses numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai:

20और इस्राएल के पहलौठे रूबेन के वंश* के जितने पुरुष अपने कुल और अपने पितरों के घराने के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:From the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, according to the records of their clans and families, counting one by one the names of every male twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

21और रूबेन के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष साढ़े छियालीस हजार थे।those registered to the tribe of Reuben numbered 46,500.

22शिमोन के वंश के लोग जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे, और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:From the sons of Simeon, according to the records of their clans and families, counting one by one the names of every male twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

23और शिमोन के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष उनसठ हजार तीन सौ थे।those registered to the tribe of Simeon numbered 59,300.

24गाद के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:From the sons of Gad, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

25और गाद के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष पैंतालीस हजार साढ़े छः सौ थे।those registered to the tribe of Gad numbered 45,650.

26यहूदा के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:From the sons of Judah, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

27और यहूदा के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष चौहत्तर हजार छः सौ थे।those registered to the tribe of Judah numbered 74,600.

28इस्साकार के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:From the sons of Issachar, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

29और इस्साकार के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष चौवन हजार चार सौ थे।those registered to the tribe of Issachar numbered 54,400.

30जबूलून के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:From the sons of Zebulun, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

31और जबूलून के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष सत्तावन हजार चार सौ थे।those registered to the tribe of Zebulun numbered 57,400.

32यूसुफ के वंश में से एप्रैम के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:From the sons of Joseph: From the sons of Ephraim, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

33और एप्रैम गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष साढ़े चालीस हजार थे।those registered to the tribe of Ephraim numbered 40,500.

34मनश्शे के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:And from the sons of Manasseh, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

35और मनश्शे के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष बत्तीस हजार दो सौ थे।those registered to the tribe of Manasseh numbered 32,200.

36बिन्यामीन के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:From the sons of Benjamin, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

37और बिन्यामीन के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष पैंतीस हजार चार सौ थे।those registered to the tribe of Benjamin numbered 35,400.

38दान के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:From the sons of Dan, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

39और दान के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष बासठ हजार सात सौ थे।those registered to the tribe of Dan numbered 62,700.

40आशेर के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:From the sons of Asher, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

41और आशेर के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष साढ़े इकतालीस हजार थे।those registered to the tribe of Asher numbered 41,500.

42नप्ताली के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:From the sons of Naphtali, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

43और नप्ताली के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष तिरपन हजार चार सौ थे।those registered to the tribe of Naphtali numbered 53,400.

44इस प्रकार मूसा और हारून और इस्राएल के बारह प्रधानों ने, जो अपने-अपने पितरों के घराने के प्रधान थे, उन सभी को गिन लिया और उनकी गिनती यही थी।These were the men numbered by Moses and Aaron, with the assistance of the twelve leaders of Israel, each one representing his family.

45अतः जितने इस्राएली बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के होने के कारण युद्ध करने के योग्य थे वे अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार गिने गए,So all the Israelites twenty years of age or older who could serve in Israel’s army were counted according to their families.

46और वे सब गिने हुए पुरुष मिलाकर छः लाख तीन हजार साढ़े पाँच सौ थे।And all those counted totaled 603,550.

47इनमें लेवीय* अपने पितरों के गोत्र के अनुसार नहीं गिने गए।The Levites, however, were not numbered along with them by the tribe of their fathers.

48क्योंकि यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा था,For the LORD had said to Moses:

49“लेवीय गोत्र की गिनती इस्राएलियों के संग न करना;“Do not number the tribe of Levi in the census with the other Israelites.

50परन्तु तू लेवियों को साक्षी के तम्बू पर, और उसके सम्पूर्ण सामान पर, अर्थात् जो कुछ उससे सम्बन्ध रखता है उस पर अधिकारी नियुक्त करना; और सम्पूर्ण सामान सहित निवास को वे ही उठाया करें, और वे ही उसमें सेवा टहल भी किया करें, और तम्बू के आस-पास वे ही अपने डेरे डाला करें। (प्रेरि.7:44)Instead, you are to appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, all its furnishings, and everything in it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles, care for it, and camp around it.

51और जब-जब निवास को आगे ले जाना हो तब-तब लेवीय उसको गिरा दें, और जब-जब निवास को खड़ा करना हो तब-तब लेवीय उसको खड़ा किया करें; और यदि कोई दूसरा समीप आए तो वह मार डाला जाए।Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to be pitched, the Levites are to set it up. Any outsider who goes near it must be put to death.

52और इस्राएली अपना-अपना डेरा अपनी-अपनी छावनी में और अपने-अपने झण्डे के पास खड़ा किया करें;The Israelites are to camp by their divisions, each man in his own camp and under his own standard.

53पर लेवीय अपने डेरे साक्षी के तम्बू ही के चारों ओर खड़े किया करें, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि इस्राएलियों की मण्डली पर मेरा कोप भड़के; और लेवीय साक्षी के तम्बू की रक्षा किया करें।”But the Levites are to camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony and watch over it, so that no wrath will fall on the congregation of Israel. So the Levites are responsible for the tabernacle of the Testimony.”

54जो आज्ञाएँ यहोवा ने मूसा को दी थीं, इस्राएलियों ने उन्हीं के अनुसार किया।Thus the Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
