1Prvoga dana u tjednu, veoma rano, dođoše one na grob s miomirisima što ih pripraviše.On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women came to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared.

2Kamen nađoše otkotrljan od groba.They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,

3Uđoše, ali ne nađoše tijela Gospodina Isusa.but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

4I dok su stajale zbunjene nad tim, gle, dva čovjeka u blistavoj odjeći stadoše do njih.While they were puzzling over this, suddenly two men in radiant apparel stood beside them.

5Zastrašene obore lica k zemlji, a oni će im: “Što tražite Živoga među mrtvima?As the women bowed their faces to the ground in terror, the two men asked them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?

6Nije ovdje, nego uskrsnu! Sjetite se kako vam je govorio dok je još bio u Galileji:He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still in Galilee:

7'Treba da Sin Čovječji bude predan u ruke grešnika, i raspet, i treći dan da ustane.'”‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.’”

8I sjetiše se one riječi njegovih,Then they remembered His words.

9vratiše se s groba te javiše sve to jedanaestorici i svima drugima.And when they returned from the tomb, they reported all these things to the Eleven and to all the others.

10A bile su to: Marija Magdalena, Ivana i Marija Jakovljeva. I ostale zajedno s njima govorahu to apostolima,It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles.

11ali njima se te riječi pričiniše kao tlapnja, te im ne vjerovahu.But their words seemed like nonsense to them, and they did not believe the women.

12A Petar usta i potrča na grob. Sagnuvši se, opazi samo povoje. I vrati se kući čudeći se tome što se zbilo.Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. And after bending down and seeing only the linen cloths, he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.

13I gle, dvojica su od njih toga istog dana putovala u selo koje se zove Emaus, udaljeno od Jeruzalema šezdeset stadija.That same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.

19A on će: “Što to?” Odgovore mu: “Pa ono s Isusom Nazarećaninom, koji bijaše prorok - silan na djelu i na riječi pred Bogom i svim narodom:“What things?” He asked. “The events involving Jesus of Nazareth,” they answered. “This man was a prophet, powerful in speech and action before God and all the people.

20kako su ga glavari svećenički i vijećnici naši predali da bude osuđen na smrt te ga razapeli.Our chief priests and rulers delivered Him up to the sentence of death, and they crucified Him.

24Odoše nato i neki naši na grob i nađoše kako žene rekoše, ali njega ne vidješe.”Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had described. But Him they did not see.”

25A on će im: “O bezumni i srca spora da vjerujete što god su proroci navijestili!Then Jesus said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

26Nije li trebalo da Krist sve to pretrpi te uđe u svoju slavu?”Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and then to enter His glory?”

27Počevši tada od Mojsija i svih proroka, protumači im što u svim Pismima ima o njemu.And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was written in all the Scriptures about Himself.

28Uto se približe selu kamo su išli, a on kao da htjede dalje.As they approached the village where they were headed, He seemed to be going farther.

29No oni navaljivahu: “Ostani s nama jer zamalo će večer i dan je na izmaku!” I uniđe da ostane s njima.But they pleaded with Him, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over.” So He went in to stay with them.

30Dok bijaše s njima za stolom, uze kruh, izreče blagoslov, razlomi te im davaše.While He was reclining at the table with them, He took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to them.

31Uto im se otvore oči te ga prepoznaše, a on im iščeznu s očiju.Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Jesus—and He disappeared from their sight.

32Tada rekoše jedan drugome: “Nije li gorjelo srce u nama dok nam je putem govorio, dok nam je otkrivao Pisma?”They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us as He spoke with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

33U isti se čas digoše i vratiše u Jeruzalem. Nađoše okupljenu jedanaestoricu i one koji bijahu s njima.And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, gathered together

34Oni im rekoše: “Doista uskrsnu Gospodin i ukaza se Šimunu!”and saying, “The Lord has indeed risen and has appeared to Simon!”

35Nato oni pripovjede ono s puta i kako ga prepoznaše u lomljenju kruha.Then the two told what had happened on the road, and how they had recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread.

37Oni, zbunjeni i prestrašeni, pomisliše da vide duha.But they were startled and frightened, thinking they had seen a spirit.

38Reče im Isus: “Zašto se prepadoste? Zašto vam sumnje obuzimaju srce?“Why are you troubled,” Jesus asked, “and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

39Pogledajte ruke moje i noge! Ta ja sam! Opipajte me i vidite jer duh tijela ni kostiju nema kao što vidite da ja imam.”Look at My hands and My feet. It is I Myself. Touch Me and see—for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”

40Rekavši to, pokaza im ruke i noge.And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet.

41I dok oni od radosti još nisu vjerovali, nego se čudom čudili, on im reče: “Imate li ovdje što za jelo?”While they were still in disbelief because of their joy and amazement, He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

42Oni mu pruže komad pečene ribe.So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish,

43On uzme i pred njima pojede.and He took it and ate it in front of them.

44Nato im reče: “To je ono što sam vam govorio dok sam još bio s vama: treba da se ispuni sve što je u Mojsijevu Zakonu, u Prorocima i Psalmima o meni napisano.”Jesus said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.”

45Tada im otvori pamet da razumiju PismaThen He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.

46te im reče: “Ovako je pisano: 'Krist će trpjeti i treći dan ustati od mrtvih,And He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

47i u njegovo će se ime propovijedati obraćenje i otpuštenje grijeha po svim narodima počevši od Jeruzalema.'and in His name repentance and forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.

48Vi ste tomu svjedoci.You are witnesses of these things.

49I evo, ja šaljem na vas Obećanje Oca svojega. Ostanite zato u gradu dok se ne obučete u Silu odozgor.”And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But remain in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

50Zatim ih izvede do Betanije, podiže ruke pa ih blagoslovi.When Jesus had led them out as far as Bethany, He lifted up His hands and blessed them.

51I dok ih blagoslivljaše, rasta se od njih i uznesen bi na nebo.While He was blessing them, He left them and was carried up into heaven.

52Oni mu se ničice poklone pa se s velikom radosti vrate u JeruzalemAnd they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

53te sve vrijeme u Hramu blagoslivljahu Boga.praising God continually in the temple.
