13Reče im: “Ne utjerujte više nego što vam je određeno.”“Collect no more than you are authorized,” he answered.

14Pitahu ga i vojnici: “A nama, što je nama činiti?” I reče im: “Nikome ne činite nasilja, nikoga krivo ne prijavljujte i budite zadovoljni svojom plaćom.”Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” “Do not take money by force or false accusation,” he said. “Be content with your wages.”

15Narod bijaše u iščekivanju i svi se u srcu pitahu o Ivanu nije li on možda Krist.The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John could be the Christ.

18I mnogim je drugim pobudama Ivan narodu navješćivao evanđelje.With these and many other exhortations, John proclaimed the good news to the people.

19A Heroda je tetrarha Ivan prekorio zbog Herodijade, žene njegova brata i zbog svih njegovih zlodjela.But when he rebuked Herod the tetrarch regarding his brother’s wife Herodias and all the evils he had done,

21Kad se krstio sav narod, krstio se i Isus. I dok se molio, rastvori se nebo,When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened,

22siđe na nj Duh Sveti u tjelesnom obličju, poput goluba, a glas se s neba zaori: “Ti si Sin moj, Ljubljeni! U tebi mi sva milina!”and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
