Matthew 23 (HWO)

1Tǝrgha Yeeso ndanggǝn fiya wumngga hai tǝ fatsahayighǝn,Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples:

2“Famalǝmgya ngyakhrha tǝ Farisaya kanda ni nggǝmang na nda kanda fa a pǝr ngyakhrha Musa nda.“The scribes and Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat.

3Nanǝn kee tsahama tǝ ƙǝm ǝna taara nun tǝ ˈya ndang nanda kun, amma a ǝnaɗun kǝla nanda ǝnaarha wa, ƙǝsǝr mba nda ǝna ˈya na nanda a tsaharhaha wa.So practice and observe everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.

4Nanda ɗǝfang rǝfrha fiya in na haghǝn, amma kanda tǝ alten ndan mba nda thlar kanda ko tǝ wan haara wa.”They tie up heavy, burdensome loads and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

7Na mid ndan a ndangˈya nda kanda yi mamnggirha a nan nda a wiirha hai ahu kasu, tǝ ƙǝm nagha fiya a aah kanda, Mala.the greetings in the marketplaces, and the title of ‘Rabbi’ by which they are addressed.

8“A nggǝmna fa a aah sa nda ‘Mala,’ wa ƙǝsǝr tǝmalǝmnda tǝtal ni, kun heu nuwun tal a wanmanggi.But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.

9A aah ɗun kowunni ahu ƙǝshidɗi ya ‘Pǝpa’ wa, ƙǝsǝr Faara na talara ndǝna Pǝpa hu Sǝsǝna.And do not call anyone on earth your father, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.

10A nggǝmna fa aagha kowunni sa ‘Mala’ wa, ƙǝsǝr tǝmalǝmnda tǝtali ni, ndǝna, Ƙǝrǝsti.Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Christ.

11Yi na manggǝn ahur nun tǝta ni a tsauka mafad nun.The greatest among you shall be your servant.

12Amma kala nafiya manangga altenggindan nanda tsaurha ngguchit, tǝ kǝm nafiya tsawangga altenggindan ngguchit nanda manang kanda.For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

13“Amma kawama, kun famalǝmngya ngyakhrha Musa tǝ Farisaya, fathlǝrɓuya! Nggǝlanggun kwatminda kyarha hu kutǝryid talara ɗǝ ma fiya. Kun tafad nun kyawun sa ɗǝ wa, ˈyaɗang kwamana nun fiya na mindan kyarha sa ɗǝ.”Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let in those who wish to enter.

14Kawama famalǝmngya Ngyakhrha tǝ Farisaya, ndirwiya, nun hǝb karid nishya mǝrna chimayi ndan, non naarha hwan Faara kaan ka a na kun nda. Tsaunǝn kee na nda a ngwang kumarha kun sǝ na pǝɗaghǝn.Not in the BSB

15Kawama, famalǝmgya ngyakhrha tǝ Farisaya, fathlǝrɓuya! Nun wii tala aten chehweerha tǝ wuri aama ka wal niifa nun malangga ɗimiyidghǝn, a malang ɗǝ ɗimiyidghǝn, nun sǝɓang nda ɗǝ kaan kal kun nǝn ɗimiyirha.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You traverse land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.

16Kawama, kwamaya na kyad kwamana! Nun ndaarha, “Kala niifa aagha thlǝm Faara tǝ Ƙǝn Faara, mbǝ ɓillarha sǝ wa, amma kaala niifa aagha thlǝm Faara tǝ tǝfasa yi Ƙǝn Faara, tsau ɗǝ tǝta a ǝna ǝnɗa nǝn aah nǝn Faara a tenggǝn.”Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’

17Kun nur kwamaya! Yanggi ni manggǝn, tǝfasa wa nduwa Ƙǝn Faara na a Urshalima tsaɓangga tǝfasa ɗǝ wa?You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes it sacred?

18Nun ndaarha, “Kaala niifa aagha Faara tǝ ‘mbǝd fǝr Sataka,’ mbǝ ɓillarha sǝ wa, amma niifa aagha thlǝm Faara tǝ ǝnfǝra na a mbǝd ǝna Sataka, tǝtani ǝna ǝnɗa nǝn ndanǝn nǝn a ǝnaarha.”And you say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath.’

19Kun kwamaya! Yanggini manggǝn, ǝnfǝrɗi wa nduwa mbǝd nji sataka tsaɓangga ǝnfǝr ɗaɗǝ wa?You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes it sacred?

20Tsaunǝn kee, kala niifa aagha thlǝm Faara tǝ mbǝd nji ǝnfǝra, aah nǝn Faara tǝ ˈya na tenggǝn heu.So then, he who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.

21A anna thlǝm Faara tǝ Ƙǝn Faara na a Urshalima, aah na thlǝm Faara na tǝ tsaurha a mbǝɗi.And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the One who dwells in it.

22A anna thlǝm Faara tǝ Talara, na aah tsǝnggam Faara, tǝ ndǝghǝn na tǝ tsaurha ahu tsǝnggamɗi.And he who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the One who sits on it.

23Kawama famalǝmngya ngyakhrha Musa tǝ farisaya, fathlǝrɓuya! Nun fǝr ǝn fǝrrǝ nun tal ahu kum yi shi chimbee amma malanggun ǝngya na nggǝngga ahu ngyakhrha, ndǝna, ƙǝkafek, haɗang ndan fa, tǝ nggayirha. Ənggina ni kamngga na nggǝngga a ǝnon ya, a malang ɗun fingya wa.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You pay tithes of mint, dill, and cumin. But you have disregarded the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.

24Kun kwamaya fa kyad kwamana, nun kang aama hai amawa nun muɗang kukwakhtaara amma nun muɗang thlǝkhmu.You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

25Kawama, famalǝmgya ngyakhrha Musa tǝ Farisaya, fathlǝrɓuya! Nun tsaɓang ƙǝsǝr wuhuleurha ɗǝ tǝ tasau, amma ahurghǝn nǝghǝn lǝlǝgɗa tǝ nggǝm alteena tǝ hukrha!Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

26Sa kwamad tǝfarisarha! Tsaɓang hur wuhuleurha ɗǝ tǝ tasau ˈwan, tǝna ƙǝsǝrghǝn narha tsǝtsaɓaɗǝ ƙǝm.Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, so that the outside may become clean as well.

27“Kawama, famalǝmgya ngyakhrha Musa tǝ Farisaya, fathlǝrɓuya! Nuwun kǝla ten kwaya ƙǝmang nanda tǝ penti na pǝpet, nagha ngga hu yirha, amma hurghǝn lǝlǝgɗa tǝ aal nafiya mǝrgha tǝ paarha ɗǝɗamǝn-ɗǝɗamǝn.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and every kind of impurity.

28Tǝ ƙǝm ahu yirha naa fiya a na kun ka nafiya, amma ahur nun sǝ nuwun lǝlǝgɗa tǝ thlǝrɓuyirha tǝ mbǝlfeerha.”In the same way, on the outside you appear to be righteous, but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

29“Kawama, famalǝmgya ngyakhrha Musa tǝ Farisaya, fathlǝrɓuya! Nun tǝn ten kwaya a annabiya, tǝ kǝm nun sakhɗang nda ten kwaya yi ka fiya fǝrgha ƙǝkafek a Faara.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous.

30Tǝrgha nun ndaarha, ‘Andam nǝghǝm sǝ a sayid chichiyinǝm, kam ɗangwan kanda sǝ ɓǝlang nda annabiya wa.’And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partners with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’

31Amma a naɗun a ndaarha kee, nun a thlǝghanggǝn altennun tǝ ndaarha kunni chichiya nafini ɓǝlangga annabi yini.So you testify against yourselves that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets.

32Ɗama mbeeɗǝ ngwalanggǝn ˈya katǝrangna chichiyi nun hai.”Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your fathers.

33Kun huthlingya, wangya huthlingya na tǝ mbǝlfeerha yid! Ƙǝƙǝn nun hǝrǝkrha ma ngwa kumad hwanga?You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape the sentence of hell?

34Tsaunǝn kee niya thlǝnang annabiya kun ɗǝ tǝ fasǝngya, tǝ famalǝmngya ngyakhrha Musa. Amma nun a ɓǝlang fingya tǝ taurha ɗǝ, nun a tsaɗa fingya ahu ƙǝn tsahad Yahudaya, nun takkwa kanda tala-tala, kun a sǝsang kanda.Because of this, I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and others you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town.

35Tsaunǝn kee, niya thlǝnang nafina ɗǝ ya ƙǝsǝr na hakked ka nafini ɓǝlang nun a tsaurha a ten nun heu ka a sayi far Habila kaniifa ɗǝgha ten Dzakariya wan Mberikiya, ɓǝlang nun a pathlang Ƙǝn Faara na a Urshalima tǝ mbǝd ǝna sataka.And so upon you will come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

36Niya pǝrang kǝkafek kun, na ǝnggini a katǝrarha hai hu ƙǝshiid weeriya.Truly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.

37Aiya Urshalima, Urshalima! Fa ɓǝl annabiya tǝ muk fathlǝngya Faara tǝ feera thlǝnna nda thlǝmadwa ɗǝ! Saara kurmi tǝrna minna a wumanggi kun kamuna ɓa kǝla na ɗiyarha ngwang wanggighǝn kamughǝn ɗǝ, amma karɗun fa.O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling!

38Kǝlama hai nanǝnya, malang nda wuri nun kun fa tsauɗǝ kwad wure.Look, your house is left to you desolate.

39Ƙǝsǝr niya pǝranggǝn kun, mbun a nggǝr na nggi ɓal wa ƙǝl fara ndanun, “Tǝ parkani niifɗi na a ɓarha ɓa hu thlǝm Chinǝm.”For I tell you that you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
