Matthew 23 (IDC)

1Ni iYesu ba tẹri ikir bajiya kina aghọyii nga si,Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples:

2“Aghọmẹẹ umẹẹ iMusa kina aFarisiyawa bọ na ama bọ akyuọ mẹẹ umẹẹ iMusa.“The scribes and Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat.

3Kindii ni inu ju imumani amẹẹ nu, ka inu yii yọ nadidu, inu ba ju kọnọ umani ibọ ka ju ba, ka aka ju bọ imumani ibọ ka mẹẹ ba.So practice and observe everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.

8Aki yọrọ ngọ nga si, ‘Aghọmẹẹ ba,’ ka inu ni aghọmẹẹ ayeng nga ni ushi ni nga, ka inu ni anayuru aye ra bọ.But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.

9Ni inu ba yọrọ ace aghọ kaya ashi ri si, ‘Ate ba,’ ka Ate nu ni aye nga ka yaya.And do not call anyone on earth your father, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.

10Aba va yọrọ nọ si, ‘aghọmẹẹ,’ ba ka aghọmẹẹ nu ni ayeng nga, uKristi.Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Christ.

11Aghọ cẹẹ nọ ughọghẹ kidẹ nu ki shi agira nọ.The greatest among you shall be your servant.

12Ka aghọmani azẹẹ ẹrẹkwẹ nga ni, aki suu ni nga, aghọmani asuu ni ẹrẹkwẹ nga ni, aki zẹẹ nga.For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

13Ọlọ nu, inu aghọmẹẹ umẹẹ iMusa kina aFarisiyawa! Inu aghọ ju unu ica! Inu yuru anyu ubọọ ẹrẹgọm a yaya ya ka ubate bajiya. Inu ka akyakwyi nu ta ghila nu ba, inu ta ba ya nu aghọ wang ghila ka ghila ba.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let in those who wish to enter.

15Ọlọ nu, aghọmẹẹ umẹẹ iMusa kina aFarisiyawa, aghọ ju unu ica! Inu ka buu udaa ugẹẹ ẹrẹyẹma, inu ka kya nu ice ẹrẹbọ ka atatọọ ka inu ya wang aghọ lọkpaa aye. Insi inu peni ni, inu ka tee ni nga aghọ idẹ ugha nọ ọnga cẹẹ ọngọ nu sọ ẹrẹpai.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You traverse land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.

16Ọlọ nu, afoo nyeni afoo utra! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’

17Inu abo afoo! Uligba wọ cẹẹ nọ ughọghẹ, atii uyeri ta ọna Ọnọng umani uhwuru atii uyeri?You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes it sacred?

18Inu ka ba tẹri si, ‘Insi acee aghọ suu na ọka uyeri agoo ni, unyeni wọ ighima ba, ni insi acee aghọ suu ni imumani ama ka agoo ni, iyiya yọ na aju imumani asuu wọ kaya.’And you say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath.’

19Inu afoo! Uligba wọ cẹẹ nọ ughọghẹ, uma wọ ta agoo umani aka hwuru uma ni?You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes it sacred?

20Kindọ ni, nadidu aghọmani asuu kaya agoo ni, asuu ni wọ kina uma ni ushi kaya nadidu.So then, he who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.

21Ni aghọmani asuu kaya ọna Ọnọng ni, asuu ni wọ kina Ọnọng umani aci kidẹ wọ.And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the One who dwells in it.

22Ni aghọmani asuu ni ayaya ni, asuu ni igọọ ẹrẹgọm Ọnọng kina aghọmani aci kaya.And he who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the One who sits on it.

23“Ọlọ nu, aghọmẹẹ umẹẹ iMusa kina aFarisiyawa, aghọ ju unu ica! Uwe ni, uka ma Ọnọng ima iye kidẹ ushọ, ọkyulọ, aya kina uma ẹrẹnang. Inu ta duma nọ na uju uma ọdọdọma kidẹ umẹẹ iMusa ba, aipang, ahwoo kina uju uma uyira. Uma ri bọ si ọnga umani inu sọ ju, basi ashee uce ya ba.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You pay tithes of mint, dill, and cumin. But you have disregarded the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.

24Inu afoo unyeni utra, inu ka wọ anaijii ki ima ọsa nu, ni inu si ngọnọ Ọrahimi!.You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

25Ọlọ nu, aghọmẹẹ umẹẹ iMusa kina aFarisiyawa, aghọ ju unu ica! Inu ka hwuru utumu isọ kina ipẹ, idẹ ni, ishi na uma uderi ajiya kina uyoo ẹrẹkwẹ.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

26Afoo aFarisiyawa, zọnọ hwuru idẹ isọ kina ipẹ, utumu ki kọ ba na pipar.Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, so that the outside may become clean as well.

27Ọlọ nu, aghọmẹẹ umẹẹ iMusa kina aFarisiyawa aghọ ju unu ica! Inu shi kini alọr umani a coo bọ anyi afafuu ni, ashi adaduma unu kọ seshi, idẹ ni, agboho aghọkpuru kina ko iligba ighọ irighe shiya.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and every kind of impurity.

28Kindii wọ ni inu shi wọ, kọ seshi ni, ajiya ka nu nọ kini agha aipang bọ ni, idẹ nọ ni agha akakiya bọ, aghọ ju unu ica kina uma ububi.In the same way, on the outside you appear to be righteous, but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

29Ọlọ nu, aghọmẹẹ umẹẹ iMusa kina aFarisiyawa, aghọ ju unu ica! Ka inu ka vra alọr adaduma anga aghọ pii kọ ọtọ Ọnọng, ki va ju alọr agha aipang ufọnọ.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous.

30Inu ka ju si, ‘Ayọ ta kọ shi wọ ka akyua anirakpẹẹ ba bayọ ni, ayọ ta kọ ta yi bọ avọ wọ ka ashii ayi aghọ pii kọ ọtọ Ọnọng ba.’And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partners with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’

31Kindii wọ ni inu nyeni si inu bọ shi anọ aghọmani apili aghọ pii kọ ọtọ Ọnọng.So you testify against yourselves that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets.

32Inu ya pra ju imumani anirakpẹẹ nu ju!Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your fathers.

33Inu iyọọ, inu iyọọ na kang! Nagyi wọ ni inu ki tẹ anang idẹ ugha?You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape the sentence of hell?

34Kindii ni imẹ sọ tuma nu na aghọ pii kọ ọtọ Ọnọng kina aghọ uye ukyuu kina aghọmẹẹ. Inu ki pili ace aghọ bọ, ace aghọ bọ ni, inu sọ gra bọ, inu sọ ca ace aghọ bọ kọ ọkọ takwyuẹ aYahudawa nu, inu sọ yii bọ ufọng nọ ufọng ni inu sọ sa bọ ọlọ.Because of this, I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and others you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town.

35Ni kaya nu ni, nadidu ayi agha aipang umani apili ki suu kaya akwyi nọ ka asing ri, kọ kpaa ka Abila ki ta ka ayii iZakariya anọ iBerekiya, aghọmani inu pii ka abiyatẹ ọna Ọnọng kina agoo.And so upon you will come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

36Aipang, imẹ sọ tẹri nu, nadidu uma ri ki ba kaya ajiya akyua ri.”Truly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.

37“Urushelima, Urushelima! Aghọ upili aghọ pii kọ ọtọ Ọnọng, aghọ fẹẹ aghọmani atuma kukushi nu na atii! Ẹrẹmẹ wọ ni imẹ ka wang ucuru nu kidẹ ivọ mi kina umani anuu ka curu anọ nga ka asọọ nga, inu tọọ nu.O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling!

38Uwẹ ka akyakyua ri ni, aya nu ọna nu idẹ avọ!Look, your house is left to you desolate.

39Ka imẹ sọ tẹri nu, inu ta ki sọ nu mi nga ba, sa awii umani inu tẹri si, “Agha anyu adaduma ngaa, aghọmani aba kidẹ nọ uca Ate.’”For I tell you that you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
