After six days Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There He was transfigured before them.

His clothes became radiantly white, brighter than any launderer on earth could bleach them.
4
IKZ
Bhakahwarʉka Ɨɨriya na Musa, abharʉʉtɨrɨri bhɨ ɨkarɨ, bharagambana na Yɨɨsu.
BSB

And Elijah and Moses appeared before them, talking with Jesus.

Peetero ewe akabhʉʉrɨra Yɨɨsu, “Umwija, nɨ‑bhwaheene itwɨ tʉbhɨ hanʉ. Twʉmbakɨ ibhituku bhɨtatʉ, ɨkɨmwɨ ichazʉ, ɨkɨndɨ cha Musa nɨ ɨkɨndɨ cha Ɨɨriya.”
BSB
BSB:
Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
6
IKZ
Ataamɨnyirɨ ryʉ ʉkʉgamba, kʉ kʉbha ewe na abhakɨndichazɨ bhakʉʉbhaha bhʉkʉngʼu.

BSB:
For they were all so terrified that Peter did not know what else to say.
7
IKZ
Neho bhakarora risaarʉ, rɨkabhakundikirya. Riraka rya Mungu rɨkarwa mwisaarʉ, rɨkabhuga, “Wʉnʉ ni‑Mwana waanɨ ʉmʉsɨɨgwa, mumwitegeerere.”
BSB
BSB:
Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him!”
8
IKZ
Hanʉ abhɨɨga bharya bhaarʉʉzɨbhu ɨnʉ nɨ ɨnʉ, bhatarʉʉzɨ ʉmʉʉtʉ wʉndɨ, nawe Yɨɨsu umwene.
BSB

Suddenly, when they looked around, they saw no one with them except Jesus.
9
IKZ
Hanʉ bhaarɨ bhakwika kʉkɨgʉrʉ kirya, Yɨɨsu akabharecha bhatabhʉʉrɨra ʉmʉʉtʉ wʉwʉʉsi ganʉ bhaarʉʉzɨ, kuhika hanʉ Umwana wʉ Ʉmʉʉtʉ akʉbha aryukirɨ kurwa mʉbhaku.
BSB
BSB:
As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus admonished them not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
10
IKZ
Abhɨɨga bharya bhakarigwata ringʼana riyo, nawe bhakabha bhariibhuurya abheene kobheene, “Kuryʉka kwazɨ mʉbhaku, enzobhooro yaku nɨkɨ?”
BSB
BSB:
So they kept this matter to themselves, discussing what it meant to rise from the dead.
11
IKZ
Bhakabhuurya Yɨɨsu, “Ndora abhiija bhi imigirʉ ja Musa bhahaabhuga, ereenderwa Ɨɨriya akangatɨrɨ Kiriisitʉ kuuza?”
BSB
BSB:
And they asked Jesus, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
12
IKZ
Ewe akabhagarukirya, “Maheene Ɨɨriya areenderwa kuuza hinga korereke atʉʉrɨ bhwaheene amangʼana gʉʉsi. Nangabhabhu, kwakɨ yandikirwɨ mʉMaandɨkʉ Amarɨndu kʉbha, Umwana wʉ Ʉmʉʉtʉ aranyaaka bhʉkʉngʼu na koregwa?
BSB
BSB:
He replied,
“Elijah does indeed come first, and he restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected?
13
IKZ
Nawe nɨrabhabhʉʉrɨra kʉbha, Ɨɨriya izirɨ, bhʉʉsi bhakamokorera amabhɨ gʉʉsi ganʉ bhɨɨndirɨ, chɨmbu yandikirwɨ.”
BSB
BSB:
But I tell you that Elijah has indeed come, and they have done to him whatever they wished, just as it is written about him.”
14
IKZ
Hanʉ Yɨɨsu, Peetero, Yoohana na Yaakobho bhaahikirɨ kʉbhɨɨga abhandɨ, bhakarora riribhita ikʉrʉ rya abhaatʉ ribhiiruguurirɨ. Abhiija bhi imigirʉ ja Musa bhaarɨ bharahakaana na abhɨɨga.
BSB
BSB:
When they returned to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them, and scribes arguing with them.
15
IKZ
Hanʉ riribhita rirya ryarʉʉzɨ Yɨɨsu, bhʉʉsi bhakarʉgʉʉra. Rogendo rʉmwɨ bhakamuryarɨra, bhakamokeerya.
BSB
BSB:
As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were filled with awe and ran to greet Him.
16
IKZ
Yɨɨsu akabhabhuurya, “Mʉrahakaanɨrakɨ nabhʉ?”
BSB
BSB:
“What are you disputing with them?”
He asked.
17
IKZ
Ʉmʉʉtʉ wʉmwɨ mwiribhita rirya akagarukirya, “Umwija, nɨmʉrɨɨtirɨ umwana waanɨ kwa naawɨ. Ana risambwa rɨnʉ rikugirya abhɨ imuumu.
BSB
BSB:
Someone in the crowd replied, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a spirit that makes him mute.
18
IKZ
Ibhaga ryʉsi hanʉ rɨhaamugwata, rɨramugwisha haasɨ. Ahaahurucha rihuru mumunywa, na kusha amɨɨnʉ na kʉhangarara ʉmʉbhɨrɨ. Nɨsabhirɨ abhɨɨga bhaazʉ bhamuruushɨ, nawe bhataaturirɨ.”
BSB
BSB:
Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. I asked Your disciples to drive it out, but they were unable.”
19
IKZ
Yɨɨsu akabhuga, “Imwɨ urwibhʉrʉ rʉnʉ rʉtakwisirirya, rʉnʉ rurimiirɨ! Niriikara na niimwɨ na kubhiigumirirya kuhika ryʉrɨ? Niriikara na niimwɨ na kubhiigumirirya kuhika ryʉrɨ? Momoreete hanʉ umwana wuyo.”
BSB
BSB:
“O unbelieving generation!”
Jesus replied.
“How long must I remain with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to Me.”
20
IKZ
Bhakamuhira kwa Yɨɨsu. Nawe hanʉ risambwa ryarʉʉzɨ Yɨɨsu, hayohayo rɨkamoteemerya umwana wurya ririmu. Akagwa haasɨ, akiibharingʉrabharingʉra na kuhurucha rihuru.
BSB
BSB:
So they brought him, and seeing Jesus, the spirit immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.
21
IKZ
Yɨɨsu akabhuurya wiisɨ umwana, “Ɨnyaakʉ yɨnʉ ɨtangirɨ kwɨma ryʉrɨ?” Wiisɨ akabhuga, “Kwɨma mubhwana bhwazɨ.
BSB
BSB:
Jesus asked the boy’s father,
“How long has this been with him?”
“From childhood,” he said.
22
IKZ
Manga kaaru risambwa riyo rimugwishiryɨ momorero hamwɨ mʉmanzi korereke rimwitɨ. Nawe arɨɨbhɨ ʉranaja kokora ryʉryʉsi, tororere ɨbhɨgʉngi, ʉtʉsakiryɨ.”
BSB
BSB:
“It often throws him into the fire or into the water, trying to kill him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”
23
IKZ
Yɨɨsu akamʉgarukirya, “Ʉrɨɨtʉrɨ! Gʉʉsi garatʉrɨkana kwa wʉnʉ akwisirirya.”
BSB
BSB:
“If You can?”
echoed Jesus.
“All things are possible to him who believes!”
24
IKZ
Rogendo rʉmwɨ wiisɨ umwana wurya akarɨra kwa nguru, arabhuga, “Niriisirirya! Nawe ubhwisirirya bhwanɨ bhʉtakwisa, nsakirya.”
BSB
BSB:
Immediately the boy’s father cried out, “I do believe; help my unbelief!”
25
IKZ
Hanʉ Yɨɨsu aarʉʉzɨ riribhita rya abhaatʉ rɨraaruha kumwiruguura, akarɨhaarɨra risambwa rirya, akabhuga, “Awɨ risambwa! Ʉrakora umwana wʉnʉ kʉbha imuumu nu umuribhi wa amatwɨ. Nangʉ nɨrakʉbhʉʉrɨra, nuurwɨ kumwana wʉnʉ, na ʉtagema kumujaku kwikɨ.”
BSB
BSB:
When Jesus saw that a crowd had come running, He rebuked the unclean spirit.
“You deaf and mute spirit,”
He said,
“I command you to come out and never enter him again.”
26
IKZ
Neho risambwa rirya rɨkarɨgɨsa bhʉkʉngʼu, ririmu rɨkatiira, rɨkamurwɨku. Umwana akabha nkina akuurɨ, bhaaru harya bhakabhuga, “Akuurɨ!”
BSB
BSB:
After shrieking and convulsing him violently, the spirit came out. The boy became like a corpse, so that many said, “He is dead.”
27
IKZ
Nawe, Yɨɨsu akamugwata okobhoko akamʉnʉnga, neewe akiimɨɨrɨra.
BSB
BSB:
But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up.
28
IKZ
Mmbe hanʉ Yɨɨsu aasikiirɨ munyumba, abhɨɨga bhaazɨ bhakamubhuurya kwa rusizʉ, “Kwakɨ itwɨ tʉkatamwa kumuruusha risambwa?”
BSB
BSB:
After Jesus had gone into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
29
IKZ
Yɨɨsu akabhabhʉʉrɨra, “Risambwa ncha rɨnʉ rɨtakʉtʉra koheebhwa taabhɨ kʉmasabhi.”
BSB
BSB:
Jesus answered,
“This kind cannot come out, except by prayer.”
30
IKZ
Yɨɨsu na abhɨɨga bhaazɨ bhakabhʉʉka iyo, bhakahɨtɨra gatɨgatɨ wi icharʉ cha Gariraaya. Yɨɨsu ataasɨɨgirɨ abhaatʉ bhamenye kʉbha ari iyo,

BSB:
Going on from there, they passed through Galilee. But Jesus did not want anyone to know,
31
IKZ
kʉ kʉbha aarɨ arabhiija abhɨɨga bhaazɨ. Akabhabhʉʉrɨra, “Umwana wʉ Ʉmʉʉtʉ araja kuhurukibhwa mʉmabhoko ga abhaatʉ na bharamwita. Nawe urusikʉ rwa katatʉ kwɨma ukukwa kwazɨ, araryʉka.”
BSB
BSB:
because He was teaching His disciples. He told them,
“The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill Him, and after three days He will rise.”
32
IKZ
Nawe, bhatʉʉbhʉʉrirɨ kɨnʉ Yɨɨsu aabhabhuuriirɨ, bhakʉʉbhaha kumubhuurya.
BSB
BSB:
But they did not understand this statement, and they were afraid to ask Him about it.
33
IKZ
BSB
BSB:
Then they came to Capernaum. While Jesus was in the house, He asked them,
“What were you discussing on the way?”
34
IKZ
Neho abhɨɨga bhaazɨ bhakakira, kʉ kʉbha bhaarɨ bharahakaana abheene kobheene kʉnzɨra, wɨɨwɨ gatɨ waabhʉ ʉmʉkʉrʉ kʉkɨra abhakɨndichazɨ.
BSB
BSB:
But they were silent, for on the way they had been arguing about which of them was the greatest.
35
IKZ
Yɨɨsu akiikara haasɨ, akabhabhɨrɨkɨra abhɨɨga bhaazɨ ikumi na bhabhɨrɨ. Akabhabhʉʉrɨra, “Ʉmʉʉtʉ wʉnʉ akwenda kʉbha ʉmʉkʉrʉ kwa bhʉʉsi areenderwa kwiyicha iyaasɨ, na kʉbha omohocha kwa bhʉʉsi.”
BSB
BSB:
Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said,
“If anyone wants to be first, he must be the last of all and the servant of all.”
36
IKZ
Akagega umwana, akamwimiirirya mʉbhʉtangɨ bhwabhʉ. Akamuhumbata, akabhabhʉʉrɨra,

Then He had a little child stand among them. Taking the child in His arms, He said to them,
37
IKZ
“Ʉmʉʉtʉ wʉwʉʉsi wʉnʉ araaginihyɨ umwana ncha wʉnʉ kuriina ryanɨ, aranginihya inyɨ. Nʉ ʉmʉʉtʉ wʉnʉ araanginihyɨ inyɨ, atakunginihya inyimwene. Amaheene araginihya Mungu wʉnʉ antumirɨ.”
BSB
BSB:
“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in My name welcomes Me, and whoever welcomes Me welcomes not only Me, but the One who sent Me.”
38
IKZ
Yoohana akamʉbhʉʉrɨra, “Umwija, tʉkamorora ʉmʉʉtʉ araruusha amasambwa kuriina ryazʉ. Itwɨ tʉkagema komorecha, kʉ kʉbha atarɨ hamwɨmwɨ na niitwɨ.”
BSB
BSB:
John said to Him, “Teacher, we saw someone else driving out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him, because he does not accompany us.”
39
IKZ
Yɨɨsu akabhuga, “Mʉtamorecha, kʉ kʉbha atareeho ʉmʉʉtʉ wʉnʉ areekore ɨkɨsɨgʉ kuriina ryanɨ, naatu hasuuhubhu kʉngamba inyɨ kɨbhɨ.
BSB
BSB:
“Do not stop him,”
Jesus replied.
“For no one who performs a miracle in My name can turn around and speak evil of Me.
40
IKZ
Ʉmʉʉtʉ wʉnʉ atakutwanga, arɨ hamwɨmwɨ na niitwɨ.
BSB
BSB:
For whoever is not against us is for us.

BSB
BSB:
Indeed, if anyone gives you even a cup of water because you bear the name of Christ, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.
42
IKZ
Yɨɨsu akangʼeha kʉgamba, “Nawe wʉnʉ araahabhyɨ wʉmwɨ gatɨ wa abhasuuhu bhanʉ bhakunyiisirirya akore ʉbhʉbhɨ, ɨnyaakʉ yaazɨ ɨrabha kʉrʉ bhʉkʉngʼu. Hakɨrɨku abhoherwe ʉrʉbhwɨ mwigʉti na korekerwa mʉnyanza.
