1. 1DIORICORDATI, Signore, di quello che ci è avvenuto; Riguarda, e vedi li nostro vituperio.BSBBSB: Remember, O LORD, what has happened to us. Look and see our disgrace!
2. 2DIOLa nostra eredità è stata trasportata agli stranieri, E le nostre case a' forestieri.BSBBSB: Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, our houses to foreigners.
3. 3DIONoi siam divenuti orfani, senza padre; E le nostre madri come donne vedove.BSBBSB: We have become fatherless orphans; our mothers are widows.
4. 4DIONoi abbiam bevuta la nostra acqua per danari, Le nostre legne ci sono state vendute a prezzo.BSBBSB: We must buy the water we drink; our wood comes at a price.
5. 5DIONoi abbiam sofferta persecuzione sopra il nostro collo; Noi ci siamo affannati, e non abbiamo avuto alcun riposo.BSBBSB: We are closely pursued; we are weary and find no rest.
6. 6DIONoi abbiam porta la mano agli Egizi, Ed agli Assiri, per saziarci di pane.BSBBSB: We submitted to Egypt and Assyria to get enough bread.
7. 7DIOI nostri padri hanno peccato, e non sono più; Noi abbiam portate le loro iniquità.BSBBSB: Our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their punishment.
8. 8DIODe' servi ci hanno signoreggiati; Non vi è stato alcuno che ci abbia riscossi di man loro.BSBBSB: Slaves rule over us; there is no one to deliver us from their hands.
9. 9DIONoi abbiamo addotta la nostra vittuaglia A rischio della nostra vita, per la spada del deserto.BSBBSB: We get our bread at the risk of our lives because of the sword in the wilderness.
10. 10DIOLa nostra pelle è divenuta bruna come un forno, Per l'arsure della fame.BSBBSB: Our skin is as hot as an oven with fever from our hunger.
11. 11DIOLe donne sono state sforzate in Sion, E le vergini nelle città di Giuda.BSBBSB: Women have been ravished in Zion, virgins in the cities of Judah.
12. 12DIOI principi sono stati impiccati per man di coloro; Non si è avuta riverenza alle facce de' vecchi.BSBBSB: Princes have been hung up by their hands; elders receive no respect.
13. 13DIOI giovani hanno portata la macinatura, E i fanciulli son caduti per le legne.BSBBSB: Young men toil at millstones; boys stagger under loads of wood.
14. 14DIOI vecchi hanno abbandonato le porte, E i giovani i loro suoni.BSBBSB: The elders have left the city gate; the young men have stopped their music.
15. 15DIOLa gioia del nostro cuore è cessata, I nostri balli sono stati cangiati in duolo.BSBBSB: Joy has left our hearts; our dancing has turned to mourning.
16. 16DIOLa corona del nostro capo è caduta; Guai ora a noi! perciocchè abbiam peccato.BSBBSB: The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned!
17. 17DIOPer questo il cuor nostro è languido; Per queste cose gli occhi nostri sono scurati.BSBBSB: Because of this, our hearts are faint; because of these, our eyes grow dim—
18. 18DIOEgli è perchè il monte di Sion è deserto, Sì che le volpi vi passeggiano.BSBBSB: because of Mount Zion, which lies desolate, patrolled by foxes.
19. 19DIOTu, Signore, dimori in eterno; Il tuo trono è stabile per ogni età.BSBBSB: You, O LORD, reign forever; Your throne endures from generation to generation.
20. 20DIOPerchè ci dimenticheresti in perpetuo? Perchè ci abbandoneresti per lungo tempo?BSBBSB: Why have You forgotten us forever? Why have You forsaken us for so long?
21. 21DIOO Signore, convertici a te, e noi sarem convertiti: Rinnova i nostri giorni, come erano anticamente.BSBBSB: Restore us to Yourself, O LORD, so we may return; renew our days as of old,
22. 22DIOPerciocchè, ci hai tu del tutto riprovati? Sei tu adirato contro a noi fino all'estremo?BSBBSB: unless You have utterly rejected us and remain angry with us beyond measure.
