1. 1KJVIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.BSBBSB: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2. 2KJVThe same was in the beginning with God.BSBBSB: He was with God in the beginning.
3. 3KJVAll things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.BSBBSB: Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made.
4. 4KJVIn him was life; and the life was the light of men.BSBBSB: In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.
5. 5KJVAnd the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.BSBBSB: The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6. 6KJVThere was a man sent from God, whose name was John.BSBBSB: There came a man who was sent from God. His name was John.
7. 7KJVThe same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.BSBBSB: He came as a witness to testify about the Light, so that through him everyone might believe.

14. 14KJVAnd the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.BSBBSB: The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
15. 15KJVJohn bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.BSBBSB: John testified concerning Him. He cried out, saying, “This is He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.’”
16. 16KJVAnd of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.BSBBSB: From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.
17. 17KJVFor the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.BSBBSB: For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
18. “The only Son” or “the only God”
    18KJVNo man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.BSBBSB: No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is at the Father’s side, has made Him known.
19. 19KJVAnd this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?BSBBSB: And this was John’s testimony when the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him, “Who are you?”
20. 20KJVAnd he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.BSBBSB: He did not refuse to confess, but openly declared, “I am not the Christ.”
21. 21KJVAnd they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.BSBBSB: “Then who are you?” they inquired. “Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.”

23. 23KJVHe said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.BSBBSB: John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet: “I am a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”

25. 25KJVAnd they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?BSBBSB: asked him, “Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
26. 26KJVJohn answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;BSBBSB: “I baptize with water,” John replied, “but among you stands One you do not know.
27. 27KJVHe it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.BSBBSB: He is the One who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”

33. 33KJVAnd I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.BSBBSB: I myself did not know Him, but the One who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is He who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

40. 40KJVOne of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.BSBBSB: Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard John’s testimony and followed Jesus.
41. 41KJVHe first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.BSBBSB: He first found his brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated as Christ).
42. 42KJVAnd he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.BSBBSB: Andrew brought him to Jesus, who looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which is translated as Peter).

46. 46KJVAnd Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.BSBBSB: “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip.

48. 48KJVNathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.BSBBSB: “How do You know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus replied, “Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.”
49. 49KJVNathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.BSBBSB: “Rabbi,” Nathanael answered, “You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”
50. 50KJVJesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.BSBBSB: Jesus said to him, “Do you believe just because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.”
51. 51KJVAnd he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.BSBBSB: Then He declared, “Truly, truly, I tell you, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
