1 Chronicles 19 (ULB)

1ಇದಾದನಂತರ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ನಾಹಾಷನು ಸತ್ತನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಮಗನು ಅರಸನಾದನು.Some time later, Nahash king of the Ammonites died and was succeeded by his son.

2ದಾವೀದನು, <<ನಾಹಾಷನು ನನಗೆ ದಯೆತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನೂ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹಾನೂನನಿಗೆ ದಯೆತೋರಿಸುವೆನು>> ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಪಿತೃಶೋಕದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಹಾನೂನನನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರು ಹಾನೂನನನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.And David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent messengers to console Hanun concerning his father. But when David’s servants arrived in the land of the Ammonites to console him,

3ಆಗ ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳು ಹಾನೂನನಿಗೆ, <<ದಾವೀದನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸಂತೈಸುವವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ನೆನಸುತ್ತೀಯೋ? ಅವನ ಆಳುಗಳು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun, “Just because David has sent you comforters, do you really believe he is showing respect for your father? Have not his servants come to you to explore the land, spy it out, and overthrow it?”

4ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಹಾನೂನನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಸಿ, ಗಡ್ಡದ ಅರ್ಧ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಬೋಳಿಸಿ, ಅವರ ಸೊಂಟದ ಕೆಳಭಾಗದ ನಿಲುವಂಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.So Hanun took David’s servants, shaved their beards, cut off their garments at the hips, and sent them away.

5ಅವರು ಹೋಗಿ ಈ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ಬಹಳ ಅವಮಾನಹೊಂದಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಳುಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ, <<ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗಡ್ಡ ಬೆಳೆಯುವವರೆಗೆ ನೀವು ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಅನಂತರ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಸಿದನು.When someone came and told David about his men, he sent messengers to meet them, since the men had been thoroughly humiliated. The king told them, “Stay in Jericho until your beards have grown back, and then return.”

6ತಾವು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯರಾದೆವೆಂದು ಹಾನೂನನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರೂ ತಿಳಿದು ಎರಡು ನದಿಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅರಾಮ್ ಸೀಮೆಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಮಾಕದಿಂದಲೂ, ಚೋಬಾ ರಾಜ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ, ರಾಹುತರನ್ನು ತರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಾವಿರ ತಲಾಂತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.When the Ammonites realized that they had become a stench to David, Hanun and the Ammonites sent a thousand talents of silver to hire for themselves chariots and horsemen from Aram-naharaim, Aram-maacah, and Zobah.

7ಆಗ ಮೂವತ್ತೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ರಥಬಲದವರೂ, ಮಾಕದ ಅರಸನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ದಂಡಾಳುಗಳು ಬಂದು ಅವರ ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಮೇದೆಬ ಊರಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಪಾಳೆಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಂದ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದರು.So they hired for themselves thirty-two thousand chariots, as well as the king of Maacah with his troops, who came and camped near Medeba while the Ammonites were mustered from their cities and marched out for battle.

8ಈ ಸುದ್ದಿಯು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ಯೋವಾಬನನ್ನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶೂರಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.On hearing this, David sent Joab and the entire army of mighty men.

9ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು ಊರ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಅವರ ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದ ಅರಸರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕವಾಗಿ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತರು.The Ammonites marched out and arrayed themselves for battle at the entrance to the city, while the kings who had come stayed by themselves in the open country.

10ಯೋವಾಬನು ತನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಹಿಂದೆಯೂ ಯುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು.When Joab saw the battle lines before him and behind him, he selected some of the best men of Israel and arrayed them against the Arameans.

11ಉಳಿದ ಜನರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷೈಯ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅವನಿಗೆ,And he placed the rest of the troops under the command of his brother Abishai, who arrayed them against the Ammonites.

12<<ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕಂಡರೆ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾ, ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕಂಡರೆ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವೆನು.“If the Arameans are too strong for me,” said Joab, “then you will come to my rescue. And if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will come to your rescue.

13ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದಿರು, ನಮ್ಮ ಜನರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪೌರುಷವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸೋಣ. ಯೆಹೋವನು ತನಗೆ ಸರಿಕಾಣುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಲಿ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and for the cities of our God. May the LORD do what is good in His sight.”

14ಯೋವಾಬನೂ ಅವನ ಜನರೂ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಓಡಿಹೋದರು.So Joab and his troops advanced to fight the Arameans, who fled before him.

15ಅವರು ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವುದನ್ನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರು ಕಂಡು ಅವರೂ ಅವನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷೈಯ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರು. ಯೋವಾಬನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.When the Ammonites saw that the Arameans had fled, they too fled before Joab’s brother Abishai, and they entered the city. So Joab went back to Jerusalem.

16ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಿಗೆ ತಾವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಂದ ಅಪಜಯ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಾದಾಗ ಅವರು ಯೂಫ್ರೆಟಿಸ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಹದರೆಜರನ ಸೇನಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಶೋಫಕನು ಅವರ ನಾಯಕನಾದನು.When the Arameans saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they sent messengers to bring more Arameans from beyond the Euphrates, with Shophach the commander of Hadadezer’s army leading them.

17ಈ ಸುದ್ದಿಯು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ, ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರೊಡನೆ ಕಾದಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೊಸ್ಕರ ವ್ಯೂಹ ಕಟ್ಟಿದನು.When this was reported to David, he gathered all Israel, crossed the Jordan, advanced toward the Arameans, and arrayed for battle against them. When David lined up to engage them in battle, they fought against him.

18ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಂತಾಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ಸೋತು ಓಡಿಹೋದರು. ದಾವೀದನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಏಳುಸಾವಿರ ರಥಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿ, ನಲ್ವತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಕಾಲಾಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಅವನು ಸೇನಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಶೋಫಕನನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂದನು.But the Arameans fled before Israel, and David killed seven thousand of their charioteers and forty thousand foot soldiers. He also killed Shophach the commander of their army.

19ಹದರೆಜರನ ದಾಸರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈ ಸಾಗದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ದಾವೀದನೊಡನೆ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ದಾಸರಾದರು. ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮಾಡಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ.When Hadadezer’s subjects saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with David and became subject to him. So the Arameans were unwilling to help the Ammonites anymore.
