4 ULB ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದೈವಿಕವಾದ ಒಂದೇ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದರು. ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದೈವಿಕವಾದ ಬಂಡೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬಂದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆ ಬಂಡೆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೇ. BSB BSB: and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
5 ULB ಆದರೂ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ದೇವರು ಮೆಚ್ಚಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಸಂಹರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಶವಗಳು ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲ ಬಿದ್ದವು. BSB BSB: Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the wilderness.

7 ULB ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ವಿಗ್ರಹಾರಾಧಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು, <<ಜನರು ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡರು. ಕಾಮಾಭಿಲಾಷೆಯಿಂದ ಕುಣಿದಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಎದ್ದರು>> ಎಂದು ಬರೆದಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ. ನೀವು ಅವರ ಹಾಗೆ ವಿಗ್ರಹಾರಾಧಕರಾಗಬೇಡಿರಿ. BSB BSB: Do not be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.”
8 ULB ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಜಾರತ್ವ ಮಾಡಿ ಒಂದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮೂರು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರು ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದರು. ಅವರ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾವು ಜಾರತ್ವ ಮಾಡದೆ ಇರೋಣ. BSB BSB: We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died.
9 ULB ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಸರ್ಪಗಳಿಂದ ನಾಶವಾದರು. ನಾವು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸದೆ ಇರೋಣ. BSB BSB: We should not test Christ, as some of them did, and were killed by snakes.
10 ULB ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಗೊಣಗುಟ್ಟಿ ಸಂಹಾರಕ ದೂತನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನಾಶವಾದರು. ನೀವು ಗುಣಗುಟ್ಟಬೇಡಿರಿ. BSB BSB: And do not complain, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroying angel.

13 ULB ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸಾಧಾರಣವಾಗಿ ಬರುವ ಶೋಧನೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವುದೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲ. ದೇವರು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಮೀರುವ ಶೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರಗೊಡಿಸದೆ ನೀವು ಅದನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಕ್ತರಾಗುವಂತೆ ಶೋಧನೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಲೇ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವನು. BSB BSB: No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it.
14 ULB ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ, ವಿಗ್ರಹಾರಾಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ದೂರವಾಗಿರಿ. BSB BSB: Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
15 ULB ನೀವು ವಿವೇಕಿಗಳೆಂದು ಇದನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನಾನು ಹೇಳುವುದನ್ನು ನೀವೇ ಯೋಚಿಸಿರಿ. BSB BSB: I speak to reasonable people; judge for yourselves what I say.
16 ULB ನಾವು ದೇವರ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಮಾಡಿ ಪಾನಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾನ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ರಕ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದಲ್ಲವೇ? ನಾವು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ತಿನ್ನುವುದು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ದೇಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದಲ್ಲವೇ? BSB BSB: Is not the cup of blessing that we bless a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?
17 ULB ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಒಂದೇ ಆಗಿರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅನೇಕರಾಗಿರುವ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರು ಒಂದೇ ದೇಹದಂತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆ ಒಂದೇ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತೇವೆ. BSB BSB: Because there is one loaf, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf.
18 ULB ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯ ಜನರ ಕುರಿತು ಯೋಚಿಸಿರಿ. ಯಜ್ಞಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವವರು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯೊಡನೆ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರಲ್ಲವೇ. BSB BSB: Consider the people of Israel: Are not those who eat the sacrifices fellow partakers in the altar?
19 ULB ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನಾನು ಏನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗಾಯಿತು? ವಿಗ್ರಹಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಆಹಾರಪದಾರ್ಥವು ವಾಸ್ತವವೆಂದೋ ಅಥವಾ ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ವಾಸ್ತವವೆಂದು ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವೋ? ಅಲ್ಲ, BSB BSB: Am I suggesting, then, that food sacrificed to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything?
20 ULB ಆದರೆ ಅನ್ಯಜನರು ತಾವು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗಲ್ಲ, ದೆವ್ವಗಳಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವು. ನೀವು ದೆವ್ವಗಳೊಡನೆ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಇಷ್ಟವಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God. And I do not want you to be participants with demons.
21 ULB ನೀವು ಕರ್ತನ ಪಾನಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹಾಗೂ ದೆವ್ವಗಳ ಪಾನಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕುಡಿಯಲಾರಿರಿ. ಕರ್ತನ ಪಂಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ದೆವ್ವಗಳ ಪಂಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಊಟಮಾಡಲಾರಿರಿ. BSB BSB: You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot partake in the table of the Lord and the table of demons too.
22 ULB ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಿ ರೇಗಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದೇವೋ? ಆತನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ನಾವು ಬಲಿಷ್ಟರೋ? BSB BSB: Are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
23 ULB <<ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರವುಂಟು.>> ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕರವಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. <<ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರವುಂಟು>> ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಜನರನ್ನು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: “Everything is permissible,” but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible,” but not everything is edifying.
24 ULB ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಹಿತವನ್ನು ಚಿಂತಿಸದೇ ಪರಹಿತವನ್ನು ಚಿಂತಿಸಲಿ. BSB BSB: No one should seek his own good, but the good of others.
25 ULB ಮಾಂಸದ ಅಂಗಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರುವಂಥದ್ದು ಏನಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಮನಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶಯ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುವಂತೆ ವಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡದೇ ತಿನ್ನಿರಿ. BSB BSB: Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience,
26 ULB <<ಭೂಮಿಯು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತವೂ ಕರ್ತನದಲ್ಲವೇ.>> BSB BSB: for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.”
27 ULB ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನನ್ನು ನಂಬದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆಯುವಾಗ ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮಗಿಷ್ಟವಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಮಗೇನು ಬಡಿಸಿದರೂ ಮನಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸದೇ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಿರಿ. BSB BSB: If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat anything set before you without raising questions of conscience.
28 ULB ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿಮಗೆ <<ಇದು ವಿಗ್ರಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಿಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದವನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮನಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬೇಡಿರಿ. BSB BSB: But if someone tells you, “This food was offered to idols,” then do not eat it, for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience—
29 ULB ಅದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲ; ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನ ಮನಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನ ಮನಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನನ್ನ ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾಕೆ ತೀರ್ಪಾಗಬೇಕು? BSB BSB: the other one’s conscience, I mean, not your own. For why should my freedom be determined by someone else’s conscience?
30 ULB ನಾನು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯೊಡನೆ ಊಟಮಾಡಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನನಗೆ ಯಾಕೆ ದೂಷಣೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು? BSB BSB: If I partake in the meal with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of that for which I give thanks?
31 ULB ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ನೀವು ತಿಂದರೂ, ಕುಡಿದರೂ, ಇನ್ನೇನು ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ದೇವರ ಮಹಿಮೆಗಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿರಿ. BSB BSB: So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.
32 ULB ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗಾಗಲಿ ಗ್ರೀಕರಿಗಾಗಲಿ ದೇವರ ಸಭೆಗಾಗಲಿ ವಿಘ್ನವಾಗಬೇಡಿರಿ. BSB BSB: Do not become a stumbling block, whether to Jews or Greeks or the church of God—
33 ULB ನಾನಂತೂ ಸ್ವಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಚಿಂತಿಸದೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರು ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಚಿಂತಿಸಿ, ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. BSB BSB: as I also try to please everyone in all I do. For I am not seeking my own good, but the good of many, that they may be saved.
