1 Corinthians 14 (ULB)

1ಪ್ರತಿನಿತ್ಯ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಜೀವಿಸಲು ಆಶಿಸಿರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಿಂದುಂಟಾಗುವ ವರಗಳನ್ನು, ಅದರೊಳಗೂ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದನಾ ವರವನ್ನೇ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿರಿ.Earnestly pursue love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.

2ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ದೇವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ಆತ್ಮ ಪ್ರೇರಿತನಾಗಿ ಗುಪ್ತ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನು ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಮಾತುಗಳನು ಯಾರೂ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries in the Spirit.

3ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವವನಾದರೋ, ಅವನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹವನ್ನೂ ಸಂತೈಸುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವವು.But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, encouragement, and comfort.

4ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ತನಗೆ ತಾನೇ ಆತ್ಮಿಕ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವವನು ಸಭೆಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.The one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.

5ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರೂ, ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ನೀವು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬುದೆ ನನ್ನಿಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ಸಭೆಯು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ವಿವೇಚಿಸಿ ಹೇಳದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಅವನಿಗಿಂತ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವವನು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನು.I wish that all of you could speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets so that the church may be edified.

6ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ದೇವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸದೆ, ಜ್ಞಾನವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನಾಡದೆ, ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳದೆ, ಉಪದೇಶಮಾಡದೆ, ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೇನು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಾದೀತು?Now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching?

7ಕೊಳಲು, ವೀಣೆ ಮೊದಲಾದ ನಿರ್ಜೀವವಾದ್ಯಗಳು ನಾದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ; ನುಡಿಸಿದ ವಾದ್ಯ ಇಂಥದ್ದೇ ಎಂದು ಹೇಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು?Even in the case of lifeless instruments, such as the flute or harp, how will anyone recognize the tune they are playing unless the notes are distinct?

8ತುತ್ತೂರಿಯು ಅಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಮೊಳಗಿಸಿದರೆ ಯಾರು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು?Again, if the trumpet sounds a muffled call, who will prepare for battle?

9ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನೀವೂ ಸಹ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾದ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾತಿನ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ? ನೀವು ಗಾಳಿಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗಿರುವುದಷ್ಟೆ.So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.

10ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಿವೆ, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದರೂ ಅರ್ಥರಹಿತವಾದವುಗಳಿಲ್ಲ.Assuredly, there are many different languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning.

11ಭಾಷೆಯ ಅರ್ಥವು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದಿದ್ದರೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಪರದೇಶದವನಂತಿರುವೆನು; ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನು ನನಗೆ ಪರದೇಶಿಯವನಂತಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.If, then, I do not know the meaning of someone’s language, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me.

12ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನೀವು ಆತ್ಮಿಕವಾದ ವರಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಅತ್ಯಾಸಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಸಭೆಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ತವಕಪಡಿರಿ.It is the same with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, strive to excel in gifts that build up the church.

13ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ತನಗೆ ಅದರ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ವಿವೇಚಿಸಿ ಹೇಳುವ ವರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಲಿ.Therefore, the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret.

14ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರೆ ನನ್ನಾತ್ಮವು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯು ನಿಷ್ಫಲವಾಗಿರುವುದು.For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.

15ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನಾದರೋ ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದಲೂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವೆನು, ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವೆನು; ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದ ಹಾಡುವೆನು, ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಹಾಡುವೆನು.What then shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.

16ನೀನು ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ದೇವರ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇರುವ ಇನೊಬ್ಬನು ನೀನು ಮಾಡುವ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿಗೆ ಅವನು <<ಆಮೆನ್>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಗೆ ಹೇಳಬಲ್ಲನು? ನೀನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಲಿಯದಲ್ಲವೇ?Otherwise, if you speak a blessing in spirit, how can someone who is uninstructed say “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying?

17ನೀನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ, ಆದರಿಂದ ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನು ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಹೊಂದುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.You may be giving thanks well enough, but the other one is not edified.

18ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.

19ಆದರೂ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯಿಂದ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ, ನನ್ನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ಐದೇ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿ ಇತರರಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಮಾಡುವುದು ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವೆನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.But in the church, I would rather speak five coherent words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.

20ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ, ಬಾಲಕರಂತೆ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಕೆಟ್ಟತನದ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಶುಗಳಂತಿರಿ; ಬುದ್ಧಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಯಸ್ಥರಾಗಿರಿ.Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.

21<<ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯವರ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅನ್ಯದೇಶಸ್ಥರ ಬಾಯಿಂದಲೂ ನಾನು ಈ ಜನರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವೆನು; ಆದರೂ ಅವರು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆಂಬುದಾಗಿ>> ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿದೆ.It is written in the Law: “By strange tongues and foreign lips I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to Me, says the Lord.”

22ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವುದು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ನಂಬದವರಿಗೆ ಸೂಚನೆಯಾಗಿದೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ನಂಬುವವರಿಗೆ ಸೂಚನೆಯಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಾವು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಯು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ನಂಬದವರಿಗಾಗಿಯಲ್ಲ ನಂಬುವವರಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದೆ.Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers. Prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers.

23ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಭೆಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಂದೇ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಬಂದಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿದರೆ ಈ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯದ ಬೇರೆಯವರು ಅಥವಾ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವರು ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದು ನೋಡಿ, ನಿಮಗೆ ಹುಚ್ಚು ಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who are uninstructed or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your minds?

24ಆದರೆ ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಲಿ, ಅಪರಿಚಿತನಾಗಲಿ ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ತಾನು ಪಾಪಿಯೆಂಬ ಅರುಹನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವನು, ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮಾತಿನಿಂದ ಪರಿಶೋಧಿತನಾಗುವನು,But if an unbeliever or uninstructed person comes in while everyone is prophesying, he will be convicted and called to account by all,

25ಅವನ ಹೃದಯದ ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳು ಬಯಲಾಗುವವು; ಅವನು ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿ, ದೇವರು ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸುವನು.and the secrets of his heart will be made known. So he will fall facedown and worship God, proclaiming, “God is truly among you!”

26ಹಾಗಾದರೇನು, ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ? ನೀವು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಬರುವಾಗ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಹಾಡುವುದೂ, ಒಬ್ಬನು ಉಪದೇಶಮಾಡುವುದೂ, ಒಬ್ಬನು ತನಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವುದೂ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನಾಡುವುದೂ, ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅದರ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದುಂಟು. ನೀವು ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಸಭೆಯ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಮಾಡಿರಿ.What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a psalm or a teaching, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. All of these must be done to build up the church.

27ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವುದಾದರೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅಥವಾ ಅವಶ್ಯವಿದ್ದರೆ ಮೂವರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಕು;If anyone speaks in a tongue, two, or at most three, should speak in turn, and someone must interpret.

28ಮತ್ತು ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅದರ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಬೇಕು. ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವವನಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರಲಿ; ತನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರೊಂದಿಗೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ.But if there is no interpreter, he should remain silent in the church and speak only to himself and God.

29ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮೂವರು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಮಾತನಾಡಲಿ, ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದವರು ವಿವೇಚನೆಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳಲಿ.Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said.

30ಕುಳಿತಿರುವ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟನೆ ಉಂಟಾದರೆ ಮೊದಲಿನವನು ಸುಮ್ಮನಾಗಲಿAnd if a revelation comes to someone who is seated, the first speaker should stop.

31ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಕಲಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು, ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ಹೊಂದುವರು.For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged.

32ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಆತ್ಮಗಳು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತವೆ.The spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.

33ದೇವರು ಸಮಾಧಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣನೇ ಹೊರತು ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣನಲ್ಲ.For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace—as in all the churches of the saints.

34ದೇವಜನರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಭೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಸಭೆಯ ಕೂಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌನವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು; ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶವಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರು ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು; ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ.Women are to be silent in the churches. They are not permitted to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.

35ಅವರು ಏನಾದರೂ ತಿಳಿದು ಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಗಂಡಂದಿರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ. ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದು ಅಪಮಾನಕರವಾದದ್ದು.If they wish to inquire about something, they are to ask their own husbands at home; for it is dishonorable for a woman to speak in the church.

36ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದಲೇ ಹೊರಟಿತೋ? ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಬಂದಿತೋ?Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only ones it has reached?

37ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯೆಂದಾಗಲಿ ಆತ್ಮಿಕನೆಂದಾಗಲಿ ಭಾವಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರೆದಿರುವುದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಜ್ಞೆ ಎಂದು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ.If anyone considers himself a prophet or spiritual person, let him acknowledge that what I am writing you is the Lord’s command.

38ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ತನಗೆ ಇದು ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಗುರುತಿಲ್ಲದವನಂತೆ ಇರಲಿ.But if anyone ignores this, he himself will be ignored.

39ಆದಕಾರಣ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ, ಪ್ರವಾದನಾವರವನ್ನು ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿರಿ, ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ.So, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.

40ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಕ್ರಮದಿಂದಲೂ ನಡೆಯಲಿ.But everything must be done in a proper and orderly manner.
