BSB BSB: He chose for himself three thousand men of Israel: Two thousand were with Saul at Michmash and in the hill country of Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. And the rest of the troops he sent away, each to his own home.
3 ULB ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಗೆಬದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕಾವಲುಪಡೆಯ ಪಾಳೆಯವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದನು. ಈ ವರ್ತಮಾನವು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿತು. ಸೌಲನು <<ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಬ್ರಿಯರು ಕೇಳಲಿ>> ಎಂದು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ತುತ್ತೂರಿ ಊದಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: Then Jonathan attacked the Philistine outpost at Geba, and the Philistines heard about it. So Saul blew the ram’s horn throughout the land, saying, “Let the Hebrews hear!”
4 ULB ಸೌಲನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕಾವಲುಪಡೆಯ ಪಾಳೆಯವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ತಾವು ಅವರ ದ್ವೇಷಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದೆವೆಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ತಿಳಿದು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಸೌಲನನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. BSB BSB: And all Israel heard the news: “Saul has attacked an outpost of the Philistines, and now Israel has become a stench to the Philistines!” Then the people were summoned to join Saul at Gilgal.
5 ULB ಆಗ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಡನೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ರಥಬಲವನ್ನೂ, ಆರು ಸಾವಿರ ಅಶ್ವಬಲವನ್ನೂ, ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮರಳಿನಷ್ಟು ಅಸಂಖ್ಯವಾದ ಕಾಲಾಳುಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಬೇತಾವೆನಿನ ಪೂರ್ವದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮಿಕ್ಮಾಷಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಳೆಯಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. BSB BSB: Now the Philistines assembled to fight against Israel with three thousand chariots, six thousand horsemen, and troops as numerous as the sand on the seashore. They went up and camped at Michmash, east of Beth-aven.
6 ULB ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಬಂದಿತು. ತಾವು ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇವೆಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿದು ಗವಿ, ಕಾಡು, ಬಂಡೆ, ನೆಲಮನೆ, ಗುಂಡಿ ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡರು. BSB BSB: Seeing that they were in danger because their troops were hard-pressed, the men of Israel hid in caves and thickets, among the rocks, and in cellars and cisterns.
7 ULB ಕೆಲವರು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆದಾಟಿ ಗಾದ್ಯರ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೂ, ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದರು. ಸೌಲನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದನು. ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದವರು ಭಯದಿಂದ ನಡುಗುತ್ತ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು. BSB BSB: Some Hebrews even crossed the Jordan into the land of Gad and Gilead. Saul, however, remained at Gilgal, and all his troops were quaking in fear.
8 ULB ಸೌಲನು ಸಮುವೇಲನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಂತೆ ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಏಳು ದಿನ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ಚದರಿಹೋದರು. BSB BSB: And Saul waited seven days for the time appointed by Samuel, but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and the troops began to desert Saul.
9 ULB ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ಜನರಿಂದ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮಕ್ಕೂ, ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಯಜ್ಞಕ್ಕೂ ಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ತರಿಸಿ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: So he said, “Bring me the burnt offering and the peace offerings.” And he offered up the burnt offering.
10 ULB ಅದು ಮುಗಿಯುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲೇ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಬಂದನು. ಸೌಲನು ಅವನನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಎದುರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಲು BSB BSB: Just as he finished offering the burnt offering, Samuel arrived, and Saul went out to greet him.
11 ULB ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಅವನನ್ನು, <<ಇದೇನು ನೀನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು?>> ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವನು, <<ಜನರು ಚದರಿಹೋಗುವುದನ್ನೂ, ನೀನು ನಿಯಮಿತಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾರದಿರುವುದನ್ನೂ, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಮಿಕ್ಮಾಷಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿದೆನು. BSB BSB: “What have you done?” Samuel asked. And Saul replied, “When I saw that the troops were deserting me, and that you did not come at the appointed time and the Philistines were gathering at Michmash,
12 ULB ಆಗ ನಾನು <ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದಾರು, ನಾನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ> ಎಂದು, ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮವನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂದಾದೆನು>> ಅಂದನು. BSB BSB: I thought, ‘Now the Philistines will descend upon me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the favor of the LORD.’ So I felt compelled to offer the burnt offering.”
13 ULB ಆಗ ಸಮುವೇಲನು, <<ನೀನು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದೆ; ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕೈಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆ ಆತನು ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: “You have acted foolishly,” Samuel declared. “You have not kept the command that the LORD your God gave you; if you had, the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time.
14 ULB ಈಗಲಾದರೋ ನಿನ್ನ ಅರಸುತನವು ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನೀನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದುದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ತನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪುವ ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬ ಪುರುಷನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಭುವಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought a man after His own heart and appointed him ruler over His people, because you have not kept the command of the LORD.”
15 ULB ಅನಂತರ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರ ಗಿಬೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು. BSB BSB: Then Samuel set out from Gilgal and went up to Gibeah in Benjamin. And Saul numbered the troops who were with him, about six hundred men.
16 ULB ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಿದಾಗ ಆರು ನೂರು ಪುರುಷರಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರೊಡನೆ ಅವನೂ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರ ಗೆಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಮಿಕ್ಮಾಷಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಳೆಯಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. BSB BSB: Now Saul and Jonathan his son and the troops with them were staying in Geba of Benjamin, while the Philistines camped at Michmash.
17 ULB ಸುಲಿಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಪಾಳೆಯದಿಂದ ಮೂರು ಗುಂಪುಗಳು ಹೊರಟು, ಒಂದು ಗುಂಪು ಒಫ್ರದ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಶುವಲ್‌ ನಾಡಿಗೂ, BSB BSB: And raiders went out of the Philistine camp in three divisions. One headed toward Ophrah in the land of Shual,
18 ULB ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಗುಂಪು ಬೇತ್‌ಹೋರೋನಿನ ಕಡೆಗೂ, ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಜೆಬೋಯೀಮಿನ ಕಣಿವೆಯ ಕೆಳಗಿರುವ ಅರಣ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೋಡಬಹುದಾದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೂ ಹೋದವು. BSB BSB: another toward Beth-horon, and the third down the border road overlooking the Valley of Zeboim facing the wilderness.
19 ULB ಇಬ್ರಿಯರು ಈಟಿಕತ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದೆಂದು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಿದ್ದದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ಕಮ್ಮಾರರೇ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: And no blacksmith could be found in all the land of Israel, because the Philistines had said, “The Hebrews must not be allowed to make swords or spears.”
20 ULB ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ನೇಗಿಲಿನ ಗುಳ, ಸಲಿಕೆ, ಕೊಡಲಿ, ಗುದ್ದಲಿ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿತ ಮಾಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಹತ್ತಿರವೇ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. BSB BSB: Instead, all the Israelites would go down to the Philistines to sharpen their plowshares, mattocks, axes, and sickles.
21 ULB ಗುದ್ದಲಿ, ಸಲಿಕೆ, ತ್ರಿಶೂಲ, ಕೊಡಲಿ, ಮುಳ್ಳುಗೋಲು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹದಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿತ ಮಾಡುವ ಕಲ್ಲು ಮಾತ್ರ ಇತ್ತು. BSB BSB: The charge was a pim for sharpening a plowshare or mattock, a third of a shekel for sharpening a pitchfork or an axe, and a third of a shekel for repointing an oxgoad.
22 ULB ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಯುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಸೌಲ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋನಾತಾನರ ಹೊರತು ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಾದರೂ, ಕತ್ತಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಬರ್ಜಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: So on the day of battle not a sword or spear could be found in the hands of the troops with Saul and Jonathan; only Saul and his son Jonathan had weapons.
23 ULB ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡು ಮಿಕ್ಮಾಷಿನ ಕಣಿವೆಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟಿತು. BSB BSB: And a garrison of the Philistines had gone out to the pass at Michmash.
