3 ULB ಈಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನಾದರೂ ಉಂಟೋ? ನಾಲ್ಕೈದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳಾದರೂ, ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ಆಹಾರಪದಾರ್ಥವಾದರೂ ಇದ್ದರೆ ನನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟುಬಿಡು>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: Now then, what do you have on hand? Give me five loaves of bread, or whatever can be found.”
4 ULB ಯಾಜಕನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, <<ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೀಸಲು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳು ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿನ್ನ ಆಳುಗಳು ಸ್ತ್ರೀಸಂಗ ಬಿಟ್ಟವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬಹುದು>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: “There is no common bread on hand,” the priest replied, “but there is some consecrated bread—provided that the young men have kept themselves from women.”
5 ULB ದಾವೀದನು, <<ನಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಸಂಗವನ್ನು ನಿಷೇಧಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಈಗಲೂ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ನಾವು ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟಾಗಲೂ ಆಳುಗಳು, ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಈ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದಲ್ಲವೇ>> ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು BSB BSB: David answered, “Women have indeed been kept from us, as is usual when I set out. And the bodies of the young men are holy even on common missions. How much more so today!”
6 ULB ಬಿಸಿರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ನೈವೇದ್ಯವಾದ ಮೊದಲ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳ ಹೊರತು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳು ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಯಾಜಕನು ಆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧವಾದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನೇ ಕೊಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟನು. BSB BSB: So the priest gave him the consecrated bread, since there was no bread there but the Bread of the Presence, which had been removed from before the LORD and replaced with hot bread on the day it was taken away.
7 ULB ಅದೇ ದಿನ ಸೌಲನ ಪಶುಪಾಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನನಾದ ದೋಯೇಗನೆಂಬ ಎದೋಮ್ಯನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: Now one of Saul’s servants was there that day, detained before the LORD. And his name was Doeg the Edomite, the chief shepherd for Saul.
8 ULB ದಾವೀದನು ಅಹೀಮೆಲೆಕನನ್ನು, <<ಅರಸನ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ತುರ್ತಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಬೇರೆ ಆಯುಧವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರ್ಜಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಕತ್ತಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ?>> ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: Then David asked Ahimelech, “Is there not a spear or sword on hand here? For I have brought neither my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king’s mission was urgent.”
9 ULB ಅವನು, <<ನೀನು ಏಲಾ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿದ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನಾದ ಗೊಲ್ಯಾತನ ಕತ್ತಿಯು ಒಂದು ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುತ್ತಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು, ಏಫೋದಿನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಇಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊ. ಅದರ ಹೊರತು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೊಂದಿಲ್ಲ>> ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ದಾವೀದನು, <<ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾನವಾದದ್ದು ಮತ್ತೊಂದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದನ್ನೇ ಕೊಡು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು. BSB BSB: The priest replied, “The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom you killed in the Valley of Elah, is here; it is wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod. If you want, you may take it. For there is no other but this one here.” And David said, “There is none like it; give it to me.”
10 ULB ದಾವೀದನನು ಸೌಲನ ಭಯದಿಂದ ಅದೇ ದಿನ ಗತ್ ಊರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಕೀಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದನು. BSB BSB: That day David fled from Saul and went to Achish king of Gath.
11 ULB ಆಕೀಷನ ಸೇವಕರು, <<ಸೌಲನು ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು, ದಾವೀದನು ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಕುಣಿಯುತ್ತಾ ಹಾಡಿದ್ದು ಇವನ ಕುರಿತಲ್ಲವೋ?>> ಎಂದು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. BSB BSB: But the servants of Achish said to him, “Is this not David, the king of the land? Did they not sing about him in their dances, saying: ‘Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands’?”
12 ULB ದಾವೀದನು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಗತ್ ಊರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಕೀಷನಿಗೆ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಹೆದರಿ, BSB BSB: Now David took these words to heart and was very much afraid of Achish the king of Gath.
13 ULB ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರ ಮುಂದೆ ತನ್ನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಗಡ್ಡದ ಮೇಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಜೊಲ್ಲು ಸುರಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆರೆಯುತ್ತಾ, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹುಚ್ಚನಂತೆ ನಟಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: So he changed his behavior before them and feigned madness in their hands; he scratched on the doors of the gate and let his saliva run down his beard.
14 ULB ಆಗ ಆಕೀಷನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ, <<ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹುಚ್ಚನೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ, ಇವನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಯಾಕೆ ಕರೆತಂದಿರಿ? BSB BSB: Then Achish said to his servants, “Look, you can see that the man is insane! Why have you brought him to me?
15 ULB ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಚ್ಚರು ಕಡಿಮೆಯೆಂದು ನೆನಸಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೇಸರಗೊಳಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇವನನ್ನು ಕರೆತಂದಿರೋ? ಇಂಥವನೂ ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕೋ?>> ಅಂದನು. BSB BSB: Am I in need of madmen, that you have brought this man to rave in my presence? Must this man come into my house?”
