1 ULB ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದನು. ದಾವೀದನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಸ್ಮಶಾನ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು ಅರಸನಾದನು. BSB BSB: And Jehoshaphat rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David. And his son Jehoram reigned in his place.
2 ULB ಇವನಿಗೆ ಅಜರ್ಯ, ಯೆಹೀಯೇಲ್, ಜೆಕರ್ಯ, ಅಜರ್ಯ, ಮಿಕಾಯೇಲ್, ಶೆಫಟ್ಯ ಎಂಬ ತಮ್ಮಂದಿರಿದ್ದರು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು. BSB BSB: Jehoram’s brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat, were Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah; these were all sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3 ULB ಇವರ ತಂದೆಯು ಇವರಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಕೋಟೆಕೊತ್ತಲಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನಲ್ಲದೆ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಬಂಗಾರ, ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಸ್ತು ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ದಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು ಹಿರಿಯ ಮಗನಾಗಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. BSB BSB: Their father had given them many gifts of silver and gold and precious things, as well as the fortified cities in Judah; but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram because he was the firstborn.
4 ULB ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಮೇಲೆ, ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವು ಮಂದಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಪ್ರಧಾನರನ್ನೂ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: When Jehoram had established himself over his father’s kingdom, he strengthened himself by putting to the sword all his brothers along with some of the princes of Israel.
5 ULB ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಮೂವತ್ತೆರಡು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಟು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years.
6 ULB ಅವನು ಅಹಾಬನ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅಹಾಬನ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ರಾಜರ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಚಿತ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದನು. BSB BSB: And Jehoram walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done. For he married a daughter of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD.
7 ULB ಆದರೂ ಯೆಹೋವನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, <<ನಿನ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನದವರ ದೀಪವನ್ನು ಎಂದೂ ನಂದಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ>> ಎಂದು ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನ ಮನೆತನದವರನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: Yet the LORD was unwilling to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant He had made with David, and since He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.
8 ULB ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದೋಮ್ಯರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ದಂಗೆಯೆದ್ದರು; ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರಾಗಿ ತಾವೇ ತಮಗೊಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. BSB BSB: In the days of Jehoram, Edom rebelled against the hand of Judah and appointed their own king.
9 ULB ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಸರದಾರರನ್ನೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಥಬಲವನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿದನು.ಎದೋಮ್ಯರು ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅವನು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ದಂಡೆತ್ತಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನೂ ಅವರ ರಥಬಲದ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಪಾರಾದನು. BSB BSB: So Jehoram crossed into Edom with his officers and all his chariots. When the Edomites surrounded him and his chariot commanders, he rose up and attacked by night.
10 ULB ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ದಂಗೆಯೆದ್ದ ಎದೋಮ್ಯರು ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಇಂದಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವರ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಲಿಬ್ನದವರೂ ಅವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರಾದರು. ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹೀಗಾಯಿತು. BSB BSB: So to this day Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise, Libnah rebelled against his hand at the same time, because Jehoram had forsaken the LORD, the God of his fathers.
11 ULB ಅವನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಪೂಜಾ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರನ್ನು ದೈವದ್ರೋಹ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿ, ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾರ್ಗದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: Jehoram had also built high places on the hills of Judah; he had caused the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves and had led Judah astray.
12 ULB ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಎಲೀಯನು ಕಾಗದದ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, <<ನಿನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳು; ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಸನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ; BSB BSB: Then a letter came to Jehoram from Elijah the prophet, which stated: “This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘You have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa king of Judah,
13 ULB ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ರಾಜರ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲೇ ನಡೆದು, ಅಹಾಬನ ಮನೆಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಬಲವಾಗಿದ್ದ ದೇವದ್ರೋಹವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿರುವೆ; ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಕುಂಟುಂಬದವರೂ ನಿನಗಿಂತ ಉತ್ತಮರೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿರುವೆ. BSB BSB: but you have walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and have caused Judah and the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves, just as the house of Ahab prostituted itself. You have also killed your brothers, your father’s family, who were better than you.
14 ULB ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳ, ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ, ಆಸ್ತಿಪಾಸ್ತಿ ಸರ್ವಸ್ವವನ್ನೂ ಮಹಾ ಆಪತ್ತಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡುವನು. BSB BSB: So behold, the LORD is about to strike your people, your sons, your wives, and all your possessions with a serious blow.
15 ULB ನಿನಗಾದರೋ ಕರುಳು ಬೇನೆಯ ಕಠಿಣ ರೋಗ ಬರುವುದು. ಅದು ಬಹು ದಿನಗಳವರೆಗೂ ಇದ್ದು ವಾಸಿಯಾಗದೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಕರುಳುಗಳು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬೀಳುವುವು>> ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: And day after day you yourself will suffer from a severe illness, a disease of your bowels, until it causes your bowels to come out.’”
16 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನೂ, ಕೂಷ್ಯರ ನೆರೆಯವರಾದ ಅರಬಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧಿಗಳಾಗುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರಚೋದಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: Then the LORD stirred against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and Arabs who lived near the Cushites.
17 ULB ಅವರು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು, ದೇಶದೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ, ಅರಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅರಸನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದರು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಿರಿಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನ ಹೊರತು, ಯಾವ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಉಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: So they went to war against Judah, invaded it, and carried off all the possessions found in the king’s palace, along with his sons and wives; not a son was left to him except Jehoahaz, his youngest.
18 ULB ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆದಮೇಲೆ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನ ಕರುಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಯಾಗಲಾರದ ರೋಗವನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದನು. BSB BSB: After all this, the LORD afflicted Jehoram with an incurable disease of the bowels.
19 ULB ಕ್ರಮೇಣವಾಗಿ ಅಂದರೆ, ಸುಮಾರು ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಆದೇ ರೋಗದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅವನ ಕರುಳುಗಳು ಹೊರಬಿದ್ದವು. ಅವನು ಕಡುಬೇನೆಯಿಂದ ಸತ್ತನು. ಅವನ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳು ಅವನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗಾಗಿ ಧೂಪಹಾಕಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: This continued day after day until two full years had passed. Finally, his intestines came out because of his disease, and he died in severe pain. And his people did not make a fire in his honor as they had done for his fathers.
