1 ULB ಇನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದುಃಖಕ್ಕೆ ಈಡುಮಾಡಬಾರದೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೆ. BSB BSB: So I made up my mind not to make another painful visit to you.
2 ULB ನಾನೇ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದುಃಖಪಡಿಸಿದರೆ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಡಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರು? ನನ್ನಿಂದ ದುಃಖಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾದ ನೀವೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? BSB BSB: For if I grieve you, who is left to cheer me but those whom I have grieved?
3 ULB ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾನು ಆ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಬರೆದದ್ದು: ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿಸಬೇಕಾದವರೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದುಃಖಕ್ಕೆ ಈಡುಮಾಡಬಾರದೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನ ಸಂತೋಷವೇ ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಸಂತೋಷವೆಂದು ನೀವು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತೀರೆಂದು ನಂಬಿದ್ದೇನೆ. BSB BSB: I wrote as I did so that on my arrival I would not be grieved by those who ought to make me rejoice. I had confidence in all of you, that you would share my joy.
4 ULB ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ನನಗಿರುವ ಅಧಿಕವಾದ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂತಲೇ ನಾನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿಡುತ್ತಾ ಹೃದಯದ ಬಹು ಸಂಕಟದಿಂದಲೂ ವ್ಯಾಕುಲದಿಂದಲೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರೆದೆನೇ ಹೊರತು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೋಯಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: For through many tears I wrote you out of great distress and anguish of heart, not to grieve you but to let you know how much I love you.
5 ULB ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ನೋವುಂಟುಮಾಡಿದವನು ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಅವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ದುಃಖಪಡಿಸದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುಜನರನ್ನೂ ನೋಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆ ದುಃಖವು ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತೆಂದು ನಾನು ಹೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: Now if anyone has caused grief, he has not grieved me but all of you—to some degree, not to overstate it.
6 ULB ಇಂಥವನಿಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುಜನರಿಂದಾದ ಆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯೇ ಸಾಕು. BSB BSB: The punishment imposed on him by the majority is sufficient for him.
7 ULB ಇನ್ನೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸದೇ ಮನ್ನಿಸಿರಿ, ಸಂತೈಸಿರಿ. ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಅವನು ಅಧಿಕವಾದ ದುಃಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿ ಹೋಗುವನು. BSB BSB: So instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.
8 ULB ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. BSB BSB: Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love for him.
9 ULB ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲೂ ನೀವು ವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರೋ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗುಣವನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂಬುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದಲೇ ಹೀಗೆ ಬರೆದೆನು. BSB BSB: My purpose in writing you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.
10 ULB ನೀವು ಯಾರನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುತ್ತೀರೋ ನಾನು ಸಹ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರವೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. BSB BSB: If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And if I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven it in the presence of Christ for your sake,
11 ULB ಸೈತಾನನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವಂಚಿಸಬಾರದೆಂದು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆನು. ಅವನ ಕುತಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೇವಲ್ಲಾ. BSB BSB: in order that Satan should not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.
12 ULB ದೇವರು ನನಗಾಗಿ ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಯೋಚಿಸಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾನು ತ್ರೋವ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದೆನು. BSB BSB: Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and a door stood open for me in the Lord,
13 ULB ಆದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರ ತೀತನು ನನಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲಿಲ್ಲವಾದ ಕಾರಣ ನನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ವಂದಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಮಕೆದೋನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದೆನು. BSB BSB: I had no peace in my spirit, because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said goodbye to them and went on to Macedonia.
14 ULB ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವಿಜಯೋತ್ಸವದತ್ತ ನಡೆಸುವ ಹಾಗೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಜ್ಞಾನವೆಂಬ ಸುವಾಸನೆಯನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಡಿಸಿದ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವಾಗಲಿ. BSB BSB: But thanks be to God, who always leads us triumphantly as captives in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.
15 ULB ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಶನದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಾವು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಪರಿಮಳವಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ. BSB BSB: For we are to God the sweet aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.
16 ULB ನಾವು ವಿನಾಶಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಮೃತ್ಯುಕಾರಕ ಗಂಧ; ರಕ್ಷಣಾಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಸಜೀವದಾಯಕ ಸುಗಂಧ. ಇಂಥ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಾರು ಯೋಗ್ಯರು? BSB BSB: To the one we are an odor that brings death, to the other a fragrance that brings life. And who is qualified for such a task?
17 ULB ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಮಂದಿ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಲಬೆರಕೆ ಮಾಡಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾವು ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ; ದೇವರಿಂದಲೇ ನಿಯೋಜಿತರಾಗಿ, ದೇವರ ಸಮಕ್ಷಮದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತಯೇಸುವಿನ ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾದುದನ್ನೇ ಉಪದೇಶಿಸುವವರು. BSB BSB: For we are not like so many others, who peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as men sent from God.
