BSB BSB: Therefore, beloved, since we have these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that defiles body and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2 ULB ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳ ಕೊಡಿರಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ನಾವು ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಹಾನಿಯುಂಟುಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ, ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ವಂಚಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: Make room for us in your hearts. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one.
3 ULB ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ತಪ್ಪುಹೊರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಇದನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜೊತೆ ಸತ್ತರೂ, ಬದುಕಿದರೂ ಎನ್ನುವಷ್ಟರ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೀರೆಂದು ನಾನು ಮೊದಲೇ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೆನಲ್ಲಾ. BSB BSB: I do not say this to condemn you. I have said before that you so occupy our hearts that we live and die together with you.
4 ULB ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಭರವಸೆ ಉಂಟು, ಗಾಢವಾದ ಅಭಿಮಾನವುಂಟು. ನಾನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಕಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಎದೆಗುಂದದೆ ಆನಂದಭರಿತನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. BSB BSB: Great is my confidence in you; great is my pride in you; I am filled with encouragement; in all our troubles my joy overflows.
5 ULB ನಾವು ಮಕೆದೋನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೂ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಮಗೆ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳಿದ್ದವು. ಹೊರಗೆ ಜಗಳ, ಒಳಗೆ ಭಯ BSB BSB: For when we arrived in Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were pressed from every direction—conflicts on the outside, fears within.
6 ULB ಆದರೆ ದೀನಾವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವವರನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸುವ ದೇವರು ತೀತನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the arrival of Titus,
7 ULB ಅವನ ಬರುವಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಅವನು ಬಹಳ ಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆನೆಂದೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಹಾ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದುಃಖ, ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಾಳಜಿ; ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದಾಗ ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟೆನು. BSB BSB: and not only by his arrival, but also by the comfort he had received from you. He told us about your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced all the more.
8 ULB ನಾನು ಬರೆದ ಪತ್ರದಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ದುಃಖವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನನಗೆ ವಿಷಾದವಿಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಮಯ ದುಃಖಪಡಿಸಿತೆಂದು ನಾನು ಮೊದಲು ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪ ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರೂ ಈಗ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. BSB BSB: Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Although I did regret it—for I see that my letter caused you sorrow, but only for a short time—
9 ULB ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾತನೆಯಾಯಿತೆಂದು ನಾನು ಈಗ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡದೆ ನೀವು ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟು ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಟ್ಟು ಮಾನಸಾಂತರ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನೀವು ದೇವರ ಚಿತ್ತಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ದುಃಖಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮಿಂದಾಗಿ ಯಾವುದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ನಷ್ಟವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ. BSB BSB: yet now I rejoice, not because you were made sorrowful, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you felt the sorrow that God had intended, and so were not harmed in any way by us.
10 ULB ದೇವರ ಚಿತ್ತಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿರುವ ದುಃಖವು ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗುವ ಮಾನಸಾಂತರವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ, ಆ ಮಾನಸಾಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಆಸ್ಪದವಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ಲೋಕದವರಿಗಿರುವಂಥ ದುಃಖವು ಮರಣವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. BSB BSB: Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.
11 ULB ನೀವು ದೇವರ ಚಿತ್ತಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟ ದುಃಖವು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ಹಂಬಲ, ತಪ್ಪಿತಸ್ಥರನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಎಷ್ಟು ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟು. ನೀವು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಗಳೆಂದು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಪ್ರಯಾಸಪಟ್ಟಿರಿ, ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಮನೋವ್ಯಥೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದಿರಿ; ಎಂಥ ಭಯವನ್ನು, ತೋರಿಸಿದಿರಿ; ಮಾನಹಾನಿಗಾಗಿ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ರೋಶಪಟ್ಟು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಸಾದೃಶ್ಯಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. BSB BSB: Consider what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what zeal, what vindication! In every way you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.
12 ULB ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರೆದದ್ದು ತಪ್ಪುಮಾಡಿದವನಿಗೆ ದಂಡನೆಯಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದಲ್ಲ, ಆ ತಪ್ಪಿನಿಂದ ನೊಂದವನಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ದೊರಕಲೆಂದೂ ಅಲ್ಲ; ನಮ್ಮ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಿಮಗಿರುವ ಅಕ್ಕರೆ, ಆಸಕ್ತಿಗಳು ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಲೆಂದೇ ಬರೆದೆನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದಲೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿ ಉಂಟಾಗಿದೆ. BSB BSB: So even though I wrote to you, it was not on account of the one who did wrong or the one who was harmed, but rather that your earnestness on our behalf would be made clear to you in the sight of God.
13 ULB ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತೀತನ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ತಣಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ನಾವು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ತೃಪ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ. BSB BSB: On account of this, we are encouraged. In addition to our own encouragement, we were even more delighted by the joy of Titus. For his spirit has been refreshed by all of you.
14 ULB ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ತೀತನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳಿದ್ದು ನಿಜ; ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊಗಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾನು ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡಬೇಕಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಬದಲಾಗಿ ನಾವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದವೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಾವು ತೀತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಆಡಿದ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಸತ್ಯವೆಂದು ಕಂಡುಬಂದವು. BSB BSB: Indeed, I was not embarrassed by anything I had boasted to him about you. But just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting to Titus has proved to be true as well.
15 ULB ನೀವು ವಿಧೇಯತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನಿಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದೆ. BSB BSB: And his affection for you is even greater when he remembers that you were all obedient as you welcomed him with fear and trembling.
16 ULB ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ನನಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಧಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಭರವಸೆ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. BSB BSB: I rejoice that I can have complete confidence in you.
