1 ULB ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಸತ್ತವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಗಾಯಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು ಮತ್ತು ತಲೆಯ ಮುಂದಿನಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಬೋಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲೂ ಬಾರದು. BSB BSB: You are sons of the LORD your God; do not cut yourselves or shave your foreheads on behalf of the dead,
2 ULB ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀವು ಕೇವಲ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಜನರೇ. ಆತನು ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನೇ ಸ್ವಕೀಯ ಜನರಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: for you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD has chosen you to be a people for His prized possession out of all the peoples on the face of the earth.
3 ULB ನಿಷಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವ ಯಾವುದನ್ನೂ ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು. BSB BSB: You must not eat any detestable thing.
4 ULB ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದಾದ ಪಶುಜಾತಿಗಳು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ ದನ, ಕುರಿ, ಆಡು, BSB BSB: These are the animals that you may eat: The ox, the sheep, the goat,
5 ULB ದುಪ್ಪಿ, ಜಿಂಕೆ, ಸಾರಂಗ, ಕಾಡುಮೇಕೆ, ಚಿಗರಿ, ಕಡವೆ, ಕೊಂಡಗುರಿ (ಕಾಡುಟಗರು) ಎಂಬಿವುಗಳೇ. BSB BSB: the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope, and the mountain sheep.
6 ULB ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯ ಕಾಲ್ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಿದೆಯೋ ಅದು ಮೆಲಕುಹಾಕುವಂಥದಾದರೆ ಅದರ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು. BSB BSB: You may eat any animal that has a split hoof divided in two and that chews the cud.
7 ULB ಆದರೆ ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯು ಮೆಲಕುಹಾಕಿದರೂ ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯ ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಿದ್ದರೂ ಮೆಲಕು ಹಾಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ, ಅವುಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು. ಉದಾಹರಣೆ: ಒಂಟೆ, ಮೊಲ, ಬೆಟ್ಟದಮೊಲ ಇವುಗಳು ಮೆಲಕುಹಾಕುವಂಥವುಗಳಾದರೂ ಸೀಳುಗೊರಸು ಇಲ್ಲವಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ. BSB BSB: But of those that chew the cud or have a completely divided hoof, you are not to eat the following: the camel, the rabbit, or the rock badger. Although they chew the cud, they do not have a divided hoof. They are unclean for you,
8 ULB ಹಂದಿಯ ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದು ಮೆಲಕುಹಾಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲವಾದುದರಿಂದ ಅದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ. ಇವುಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು; ಇವುಗಳ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಬಾರದು. BSB BSB: as well as the pig; though it has a divided hoof, it does not chew the cud. It is unclean for you. You must not eat its meat or touch its carcass.
9 ULB ಜಲಜಂತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದಾದವುಗಳು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ: ಯಾವ ಜಾತಿಯ ಜಲಜಂತುಗಳಿಗೆ ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಇದ್ದು ದೇಹವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪರೆಪರೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದೋ ಅದರ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು. BSB BSB: Of all the creatures that live in the water, you may eat anything with fins and scales,
10 ULB ಯಾವ ಜಾತಿಯ ಜಲಜಂತುಗಳಿಗೆ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಪರೆಪರೆಯಾದ ದೇಹವು ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅವುಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು; ಅದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ. BSB BSB: but you may not eat anything that does not have fins and scales; it is unclean for you.
11 ULB ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶುದ್ಧ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು. BSB BSB: You may eat any clean bird,
12 ULB ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದವುಗಳು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ ಗರುಡ, ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಹದ್ದು, ಕ್ರೌಂಚ, BSB BSB: but these you may not eat: the eagle, the bearded vulture, the black vulture,
13 ULB ಗಿಡಗ, ಹಕ್ಕಿಸಾಲೆ, ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಹದ್ದು, BSB BSB: the red kite, the falcon, any kind of kite,
14 ULB ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಕಾಗೆ, BSB BSB: any kind of raven,
15 ULB ಉಷ್ಟ್ರಪಕ್ಷಿ, ಉಲೂಕ, ಕಡಲಹಕ್ಕಿ, ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಡೇಗೆ, BSB BSB: the ostrich, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk,
16 ULB ಗೂಬೆ, ಹೆಗ್ಗೂಬೆ, ಕರೇಟು, BSB BSB: the little owl, the great owl, the white owl,
17 ULB ಚೀಲಮೂಗಿ, ರಣಹದ್ದು, ನೀರುಕಾಗೆ, BSB BSB: the desert owl, the osprey, the cormorant,
18 ULB ಕೊಕ್ಕರೆ, ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಬಕ, ಹೆಡೆಹಕ್ಕಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಣ್ಣಕಪಡಿ. BSB BSB: the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, or the bat.
19 ULB ರೆಕ್ಕೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಕ್ರಿಮಿಕೀಟಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ. ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು. BSB BSB: All flying insects are unclean for you; they may not be eaten.
20 ULB ರೆಕ್ಕೆಯುಳ್ಳವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶುದ್ಧ ಜಾತಿಯವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು. BSB BSB: But you may eat any clean bird.
21 ULB ಸತ್ತುಬಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಊರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪರದೇಶೀಯರಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಬಹುದು, ಅನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮಾರಬಹುದು. ನೀವಾದರೋ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತರಾದವರು. ಆಡುಮರಿಯನ್ನು ಅದರ ತಾಯಿಯ ಹಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಯಿಸಬಾರದು. BSB BSB: You are not to eat any carcass; you may give it to the foreigner residing within your gates, and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. For you are a holy people belonging to the LORD your God. You must not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.
22 ULB ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೊಲದ ಬೆಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಶಮ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: You must be sure to set aside a tenth of all the produce brought forth each year from your fields.
23 ULB ಧಾನ್ಯ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿ, ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದಶಮಭಾಗವನ್ನೂ ದನಕುರಿಗಳ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲು ಮರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬೇಕು. ಹೀಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲೇ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: And you are to eat a tenth of your grain, new wine, and oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks, in the presence of the LORD your God at the place He will choose as a dwelling for His Name, so that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.
24 ULB ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸ್ಥಳವು ನಿಮಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಆ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಷ್ಟು ದೂರ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ, BSB BSB: But if the distance is too great for you to carry that with which the LORD your God has blessed you, because the place where the LORD your God will choose to put His Name is too far away,
25 ULB ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಿಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಆ ಹಣದ ಗಂಟನ್ನು ಆತನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ. BSB BSB: then exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place the LORD your God will choose.
26 ULB ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಇಷ್ಟಾನುಸಾರ ದನ, ಕುರಿ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸ, ಮದ್ಯ ಮೊದಲಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಆ ಹಣದಿಂದ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡು, ನೀವೂ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟಮಾಡಿ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: Then you may spend the money on anything you desire: cattle, sheep, wine, strong drink, or anything you wish. You are to feast there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice with your household.
27 ULB ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಡನೆ ಯಾವ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವೂ ಇಲ್ಲವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡಬಾರದು. BSB BSB: And do not neglect the Levite within your gates, since he has no portion or inheritance among you.
28 ULB ಪ್ರತಿ ಮೂರನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದ ಬೆಳೆಯ ದಶಮಭಾಗವನ್ನು ತಂದು ನೀವು ಇರುವ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಕೂಡಿಸಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: At the end of every three years, bring a tenth of all your produce for that year and lay it up within your gates.
29 ULB ಆಗ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅನ್ಯದೇಶದವರೂ, ಅನಾಥರು, ವಿಧವೆಯರೂ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮೊಡನೆ ಸ್ವತ್ತನ್ನು ಹೊಂದದೆಹೋದ ಲೇವಿಯರೂ ಊಟಮಾಡಿ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗಿರಲಿ. ನೀವು ಹೀಗೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಸಫಲಮಾಡುವನು. BSB BSB: Then the Levite (because he has no portion or inheritance among you), the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow within your gates may come and eat and be satisfied. And the LORD your God will bless you in all the work of your hands.
