1 ULB ಒಬ್ಬನು ಎತ್ತನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಕುರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಕೊಯ್ದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಮಾರಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಒಂದು ಎತ್ತಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಐದು ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಕುರಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: “If a man steals an ox or a sheep and slaughters or sells it, he must repay five oxen for an ox and four sheep for a sheep.
2 ULB ಒಬ್ಬ ಕಳ್ಳನು ಕಳ್ಳತನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದಾಗ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನರಹತ್ಯೆಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಕೂಡದು. BSB BSB: If a thief is caught breaking in and is beaten to death, no one shall be guilty of bloodshed.
3 ULB ಸೂರ್ಯೋದಯವಾದ ನಂತರ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಕಳ್ಳತನಮಾಡಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಂದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನರಹತ್ಯೆಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅವನು ಕದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಡಲು ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ಆ ಕಳ್ಳತನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಗುಲಾಮನಾಗಿ ಮಾರಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: But if it happens after sunrise, there is guilt for his bloodshed. A thief must make full restitution; if he has nothing, he himself shall be sold for his theft.
4 ULB ಕಳ್ಳತನ ಮಾಡಿದ ಎತ್ತಾಗಲಿ, ಕತ್ತೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ಆಡು, ಕುರಿಯಾದರೂ ಜೀವದಿಂದಲೇ ಕದ್ದವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಈಡು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If what was stolen is actually found alive in his possession—whether ox or donkey or sheep—he must pay back double.
5 ULB ಒಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟದಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ತನ್ನ ದನಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಯಿಸಿ, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟದಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಮೇಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ತನ್ನ ಹೊಲದ ಅಥವಾ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟದ ಉತ್ತಮ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಈಡು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If a man grazes his livestock in a field or vineyard and allows them to stray so that they graze in someone else’s field, he must make restitution from the best of his own field or vineyard.
6 ULB ಒಬ್ಬನು ಹೊತ್ತಿಸಿದ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಆಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ತಾಗಿ ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಗಿಡಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನ ದವಸದ ರಾಶಿಗಳಾಗಲಿ, ಬೆಳೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ಹೊಲವಾಗಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟು ಹೋದರೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹೊತ್ತಿಸಿದವನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಈಡುಕೊಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If a fire breaks out and spreads to thornbushes so that it consumes stacked or standing grain, or the whole field, the one who started the fire must make full restitution.
7 ULB ಒಬ್ಬನು ಹಣವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಒಡವೆಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕಾಪಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅದು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳ್ಳತನವಾಗಿ, ಕಳ್ಳನು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ದಂಡವನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If a man gives his neighbor money or goods for safekeeping and they are stolen from the neighbor’s house, the thief, if caught, must pay back double.
8 ULB ಕಳ್ಳನು ಸಿಕ್ಕದೇ ಹೋದರೆ ಆ ಮನೆಯ ಯಜಮಾನನು ತಾನೇ ಆ ಒಡವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕದ್ದನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If the thief is not found, the owner of the house must appear before the judges to determine whether he has taken his neighbor’s property.

BSB BSB: In all cases of illegal possession of an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any lost item that someone claims, ‘This is mine,’ both parties shall bring their cases before the judges. The one whom the judges find guilty must pay back double to his neighbor.
10 ULB ಒಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ಕತ್ತೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಎತ್ತನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಕುರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ಪಶುವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕಾಪಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು, ಅದು ಸತ್ತರೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡರೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಯಾರೂ ತಿಳಿಯದಂತೆ ಕಳ್ಳತನವಾದರೆ, BSB BSB: If a man gives a donkey, an ox, a sheep, or any other animal to be cared for by his neighbor, but it dies or is injured or stolen while no one is watching,
11 ULB ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತಾನೇ ಆ ಸೊತ್ತಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಸಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಪಶುವಿನ ಒಡೆಯನು ಆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಂಬಬೇಕು. ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದವನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಈಡುಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: an oath before the LORD shall be made between the parties to determine whether or not the man has taken his neighbor’s property. The owner must accept the oath and require no restitution.
12 ULB ಆದರೆ ಆ ಪಶುವು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಕಳವಾದರೆ ಆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಅದರ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಈಡುಕೊಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: But if the animal was actually stolen from the neighbor, he must make restitution to the owner.
13 ULB ಕಾಡುಮೃಗವು ಆ ಪಶುವನ್ನು ಕೊಂದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅದರ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಗಾಗಿ ತೋರಿಸಲಿ. ಕಾಡುಮೃಗ ಕೊಂದಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಈಡು ಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: If the animal was torn to pieces, he shall bring it as evidence; he need not make restitution for the torn carcass.
14 ULB ಒಬ್ಬನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಂದ ಪಶುವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಡಿಗೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರಲಾಗಿ ಆ ಪಶುವಿನ ಒಡೆಯನು ಅದರ ಹತ್ತಿರವಿಲ್ಲದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡರೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಸತ್ತುಹೋದರೆ ಸಾಲ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡವನು ಈಡುಕೊಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If a man borrows an animal from his neighbor and it is injured or dies while its owner is not present, he must make full restitution.
15 ULB ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅದರ ಹತ್ತಿರದಲ್ಲೇ ಇದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಈಡುಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದನ್ನು ಬಾಡಿಗೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಉಂಟಾದ ನಷ್ಟವು ಬಾಡಿಗೆಯ ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಎಣಿಕೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If the owner was present, no restitution is required. If the animal was rented, the fee covers the loss.
16 ULB ನಿಶ್ಚಿತಾರ್ಥವಾಗದ ಹೆಣ್ಣನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬನು ಮರುಳುಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಸಂಗಮಿಸಿದರೆ ಅವಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ತಕ್ಕ ತೆರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If a man seduces a virgin who is not pledged in marriage and sleeps with her, he must pay the full dowry for her to be his wife.
17 ULB ಅವಳ ತಂದೆ ಅವಳನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪದೇ ಹೋದರೆ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತಕ್ಕ ಹಣವನ್ನು ದಂಡವಾಗಿ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If her father absolutely refuses to give her to him, the man still must pay an amount comparable to the bridal price of a virgin.
18 ULB ಮಾಟಗಾರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಜೀವದಿಂದ ಉಳಿಸಬಾರದು. BSB BSB: You must not allow a sorceress to live.
19 ULB ಪಶುಸಂಗ ಮಾಡಿದವನಿಗೆ ಮರಣಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: Whoever lies with an animal must surely be put to death.
20 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೇ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಯಜ್ಞ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವವನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಾಶವಾಗಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If anyone sacrifices to any god other than the LORD alone, he must be set apart for destruction.
21 ULB ಪರದೇಶದವನಿಗೆ ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು ಉಪದ್ರವ ಕೊಡಬಾರದು ನೀವು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರದೇಶಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲವೇ? BSB BSB: You must not exploit or oppress a foreign resident, for you yourselves were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
22 ULB ವಿಧವೆಯರನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ತೊಂದರೆಪಡಿಸಬಾರದು. BSB BSB: You must not mistreat any widow or orphan.
23 ULB ನೀವು ಇಂಥವರನ್ನು ತೊಂದರೆಪಡಿಸಿದರೆ ಅವರು ನನಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವರು ಆ ಮೊರೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವೆನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. BSB BSB: If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to Me in distress, I will surely hear their cry.
24 ULB ನಾನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂಹಾರಮಾಡಿಸುವೆನು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರು ವಿಧವೆಯರಾಗುವರು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದವರಾಗುವರು. BSB BSB: My anger will be kindled, and I will kill you with the sword; then your wives will become widows and your children will be fatherless.
25 ULB ನನ್ನ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಬಡವನಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಹಣ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಾಲಗಾರನಂತೆ ಕಾಣಬಾರದು. ಅವನಿಂದ ಬಡ್ಡಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಬಾರದು. BSB BSB: If you lend money to one of My people among you who is poor, you must not act as a creditor to him; you are not to charge him interest.
27 ULB ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದೇ ಹೊದಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದೇ ಅವನ ಮೈಗೆ ಉಡುಪು. ಅವನು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವುದನ್ನು ಹೊದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಮಲಗಬೇಕು? ಅವನು ನನಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟರೆ ನಾನು ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳುವೆನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ದಯಾಪರನು. BSB BSB: because his cloak is the only covering he has for his body. What else will he sleep in? And if he cries out to Me, I will hear, for I am compassionate.
28 ULB ದೇವರನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಬಾರದು. ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀನು ಶಪಿಸಬಾರದು. BSB BSB: You must not blaspheme God or curse the ruler of your people.
29 ULB ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣದಿಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾಲತೆಯಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸತಕ್ಕದ್ದನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತಡಮಾಡಬಾರದು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲು ಗಂಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: You must not hold back offerings from your granaries or vats. You are to give Me the firstborn of your sons.
30 ULB ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕುರಿ, ದನಗಳ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲು ಮರಿಗಳನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು. ಏಳು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಆ ಮರಿ ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯೊಂದಿಗಿರಲಿ. ಎಂಟನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: You shall do likewise with your cattle and your sheep. Let them stay with their mothers for seven days, but on the eighth day you are to give them to Me.
31 ULB ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಜನರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಕಾಡುಮೃಗ ಕೊಂದದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು, ಅದನ್ನು ನಾಯಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಿಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: You are to be My holy people. You must not eat the meat of a mauled animal found in the field; you are to throw it to the dogs.
