BSB BSB: When Rachel saw that she was not bearing any children for Jacob, she envied her sister. “Give me children, or I will die!” she said to Jacob.

3 ULB ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಕೆಯು, <<ನನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ಬಿಲ್ಹಾ ಇದ್ದಾಳಲ್ಲಾ, ಅವಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗಮಿಸು, ಅವಳು ಬಸುರಾದರೆ ಆ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಮಡಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲಿ. ಆಗ ನನಗೂ ಸಂತಾನವಾಗುವುದು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, BSB BSB: Then she said, “Here is my maidservant Bilhah. Sleep with her, that she may bear children for me, so that through her I too can build a family.”
4 ULB ತನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ಬಿಲ್ಹಳನ್ನು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಳು. BSB BSB: So Rachel gave Jacob her servant Bilhah as a wife, and he slept with her,
5 ULB ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗಮಿಸಲು ಬಿಲ್ಹಳು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಹೆರಲು, BSB BSB: and Bilhah conceived and bore him a son.
6 ULB ರಾಹೇಲಳು, <<ದೇವರು ನನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆತನು ನನ್ನ ಮೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ನನಗೆ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ <<ದಾನ್>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಳು. BSB BSB: Then Rachel said, “God has vindicated me; He has heard my plea and given me a son.” So she named him Dan.
7 ULB ರಾಹೇಲಳ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ಬಿಲ್ಹಳು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಸುರಾಗಿ ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಹೆರಲು, BSB BSB: And Rachel’s servant Bilhah conceived again and bore Jacob a second son.
8 ULB ರಾಹೇಲಳು, <<ನನ್ನ ಅಕ್ಕನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಡಿ ಜಯಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ <<ನಫ್ತಾಲಿ>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಳು. BSB BSB: Then Rachel said, “In my great struggles, I have wrestled with my sister and won.” So she named him Naphtali.
9 ULB ಲೇಯಳು ತನಗೆ ಹೆರಿಗೆ ನಿಂತುಹೋಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ತನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ಜಿಲ್ಪಳನ್ನು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಳು. BSB BSB: When Leah saw that she had stopped having children, she gave her servant Zilpah to Jacob as a wife.
10 ULB ಲೇಯಳ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ಜಿಲ್ಪಳು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಹೆರಲು, BSB BSB: And Leah’s servant Zilpah bore Jacob a son.

12 ULB ಲೇಯಳ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ಜಿಲ್ಪಳು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಹೆರಲು, BSB BSB: When Leah’s servant Zilpah bore Jacob a second son,
13 ULB ಲೇಯಳು, <<ನಾನು ಧನ್ಯಳಾದೆ, ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಧನ್ಯಳೆಂದು ಹೊಗಳುವರು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ <<ಆಶೇರ್>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಳು. BSB BSB: Leah said, “How happy I am! For the women call me happy.” So she named him Asher.
14 ULB ಗೋದಿ ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ರೂಬೇನನು ಅಡವಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಕಾಮಜನಕ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಲೇಯಳಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಕೊಡಲು ರಾಹೇಲಳು ಆಕೆಗೆ, <<ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನು ತಂದಿರುವ ಕಾಮಜನಕ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಡು>> ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಳು. BSB BSB: Now during the wheat harvest, Reuben went out and found some mandrakes in the field. When he brought them to his mother, Rachel begged Leah, “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.”
15 ULB ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಲೇಯಳು, <<ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಗಂಡನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡದ್ದು ಸಾಲದೋ? ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ತಂದ ಕಾಮಜನಕ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೀಯಾ?>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ರಾಹೇಲಳು, <<ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು, ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನು ತಂದ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಗಂಡನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ರಾತ್ರಿ ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ಇರಲಿ>> ಎಂದಳು. BSB BSB: But Leah replied, “Is it not enough that you have taken away my husband? Now you want to take my son’s mandrakes as well?” “Very well,” said Rachel, “he may sleep with you tonight in exchange for your son’s mandrakes.”
16 ULB ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಅಡವಿಯಿಂದ ಬರುವಾಗ ಲೇಯಳು ಅವನೆದುರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, <<ನೀನು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಬೇಕು, ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ತಂದ ಕಾಮಜನಕ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ>> ಎಂದಳು. ಆ ಹೊತ್ತು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಅವನು ಆಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: When Jacob came in from the field that evening, Leah went out to meet him and said, “You must come with me, for I have hired you with my son’s mandrakes.” So he slept with her that night.

18 ULB ಲೇಯಳು, <<ನನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಗಂಡನ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ<< ಇಸ್ಸಾಕಾರ್>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಳು. BSB BSB: Then Leah said, “God has rewarded me for giving my maidservant to my husband.” So she named him Issachar.
19 ULB ಲೇಯಳು ಪುನಃ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಆರನೆಯ ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು. BSB BSB: Again Leah conceived and bore a sixth son to Jacob.
20 ULB ಲೇಯಳು, <<ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ವರದಾನವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಗಂಡನಿಗೆ ಆರು ಮಂದಿ ಗಂಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ನನ್ನೊಡನೆಯೇ ವಾಸಿಸುವನು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ<< ಜೆಬುಲೂನ್>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಳು. BSB BSB: “God has given me a good gift,” she said. “This time my husband will honor me, because I have borne him six sons.” And she named him Zebulun.
21 ULB ತರುವಾಯ ಆಕೆಯು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ <<ದೀನಾ>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಳು. BSB BSB: After that, Leah gave birth to a daughter and named her Dinah.
22 ULB ಆಮೇಲೆ ದೇವರು ರಾಹೇಲಳನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಆಕೆಯ ಮೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಆಕೆಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. BSB BSB: Then God remembered Rachel. He listened to her and opened her womb,
23 ULB ಆಕೆಯು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತು, <<ದೇವರು ನನಗಿದ್ದ ಅವಮಾನವನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ>> ಎಂದಳು. BSB BSB: and she conceived and gave birth to a son. “God has taken away my shame,” she said.
24 ULB ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಕೆಯು, <<ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸುವನು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ <<ಯೋಸೇಫ್>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಳು. BSB BSB: She named him Joseph, and said, “May the LORD add to me another son.”
25 ULB ರಾಹೇಲಳು ಯೋಸೇಫನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತ ನಂತರ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಲಾಬಾನನಿಗೆ, <<ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸ್ವಂತ ಊರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಲು ನನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: Now after Rachel had given birth to Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, “Send me on my way so I can return to my homeland.
26 ULB ನಾನು ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಿ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: Give me my wives and children for whom I have served you, that I may go on my way. You know how hard I have worked for you.”
27 ULB ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ನೀನು ಬಲ್ಲವನಾಗಿರುವೆ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ಲಾಬಾನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, <<ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಯೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. BSB BSB: But Laban replied, “If I have found favor in your eyes, please stay. I have learned by divination that the LORD has blessed me because of you.”
28 ULB ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಏನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಹೇಳು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: And he added, “Name your wages, and I will pay them.”
29 ULB ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾಕೋಬನು, <<ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ವಶದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಶುಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಯಾದುದ್ದನ್ನೂ ನೀನು ಬಲ್ಲೇ. BSB BSB: Then Jacob answered, “You know how I have served you and how your livestock have thrived under my care.

BSB BSB: Indeed, you had very little before my arrival, but now your wealth has increased many times over. The LORD has blessed you wherever I set foot. But now, when may I also provide for my own household?”
31 ULB ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಲಾಬಾನನು, <<ನಿನಗೆ ನಾನೇನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಹೇಳು>> ಅನ್ನಲು ಯಾಕೋಬನು, <<ನನಗೆ ಏನೂ ಕೊಡಬೇಡ, ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಈ ಒಂದು ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾತ್ರ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಸಾಕು, ನಾನು ಪುನಃ ನಿನ್ನ ಹಿಂಡನ್ನು ಮೇಯಿಸಿ ಕಾಯುವೆನು>> BSB BSB: “What can I give you?” Laban asked. “You do not need to give me anything,” Jacob replied. “If you do this one thing for me, I will keep on shepherding and keeping your flocks.
32 ULB ಅದೇನೆಂದರೆ, <<ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹಿಂಡಿನೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಕುರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚುಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಚ್ಚೆಗಳಿರುವವುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕುರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಪ್ಪಾಗಿರುವವುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಆಡುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚುಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಚ್ಚೆಗಳಿರುವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ವಿಂಗಡಿಸುವೆನು. ಅವೇ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಬಳವಾಗಿರಲಿ. BSB BSB: Let me go through all your flocks today and remove from them every speckled or spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb, and every spotted or speckled goat. These will be my wages.
33 ULB ಹೀಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಬರುವ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಬಳಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆಯೇ ನನಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡುವುದು. ಆಡುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚುಕ್ಕೆ ಮಚ್ಚೆಗಳಿಲ್ಲದ್ದು, ಕುರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಪ್ಪಿಲ್ಲದ್ದು, ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕದ್ದದ್ದೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಬಹುದು>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: So my honesty will testify for me when you come to check on my wages in the future. If I have any goats that are not speckled or spotted, or any lambs that are not dark-colored, they will be considered stolen.”
34 ULB ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಲಾಬಾನನು, <<ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು, ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಆಗಲಿ>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: “Agreed,” said Laban. “Let it be as you have said.”
35 ULB ಅದೇ ದಿನ ಲಾಬಾನನು ಆಡುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರೇಖೆ ಮಚ್ಚೆ ಇದ್ದವುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಮೇಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚುಕ್ಕೆ ಮಚ್ಚೆ ಇದ್ದವುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅಂದರೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಬಿಳುಪಾದ ಬಣ್ಣವು ತೋರಿದ ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕುರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಪ್ಪಾಗಿದ್ದುವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ವಿಂಗಡಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು. BSB BSB: That very day Laban removed all the streaked or spotted male goats and every speckled or spotted female goat—every one that had any white on it—and every dark-colored lamb, and he placed them under the care of his sons.
36 ULB ಲಾಬಾನನು ತನಗೂ, ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೂ ಮೂರು ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದಷ್ಟು ದೂರ ಅಂತರವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಲಾಬಾನನ ಹಿಂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಯಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: Then he put a three-day journey between himself and Jacob, while Jacob was shepherding the rest of Laban’s flocks.
37 ULB ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಚಿನಾರು, ಬಾದಾಮಿ, ಅರ್ಮೋನ್ ಎಂಬ ಮರಗಳ ಹಸಿ ಕೋಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಪಟ್ಟೆಪಟ್ಟೆಯಾಗಿ ತೊಗಟೆಯನ್ನು ಸುಲಿದು, BSB BSB: Jacob, however, took fresh branches of poplar, almond, and plane trees, and peeled the bark, exposing the white inner wood of the branches.
38 ULB ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಿಳಿಯ ಬಣ್ಣವು ಕಾಣಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಆ ಕೋಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಡುಕುರಿಗಳ ಹಿಂಡು ನೀರು ಕುಡಿಯುವ ತೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಆಡುಕುರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀರು ಕುಡಿಯುವ ಸಮಯ, ಸಂಗಮ ಸಮಯ. BSB BSB: Then he set the peeled branches in the watering troughs in front of the flocks coming in to drink. So when the flocks were in heat and came to drink,

40 ULB ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಆ ಮರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಲಾಬಾನನ ಹಿಂಡಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸದೆ ತನ್ನವೆಂದು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಿದನು ಮತ್ತು ಲಾಬಾನನ ಆಡು ಕುರಿಗಳ ಮುಖಗಳನ್ನು ರೇಖೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಆ ಆಡುಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಕಪ್ಪಾದ ಕುರಿಗಳ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸಿದನು. 41 ULB ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠವಾದ ಆಡು ಕುರಿಗಳು ಸಂಗಮಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಆ ಕೋಲುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಸಂಗಮಮಾಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ಯಾಕೋಬನು ತೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋಲುಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟನು. ಆದರೆ ಆಡುಕುರಿಗಳು ಬಲಹೀನವಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವನು ಕೋಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: Whenever the stronger females of the flock were in heat, Jacob would place the branches in the troughs, in full view of the animals, so that they would breed in front of the branches.
42 ULB ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಬಲಹೀನವಾದ ಹಿಂಡು ಲಾಬಾನನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದವು, ಬಲಿಷ್ಠವಾದವುಗಳು ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದವು. BSB BSB: But if the animals were weak, he did not set out the branches. So the weaker animals went to Laban and the stronger ones to Jacob.
43 ULB ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಬಹಳ ಸಂಪತ್ತುಳ್ಳವನಾದನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕುರಿಹಿಂಡುಗಳು, ದಾಸದಾಸಿಯರು, ಒಂಟೆ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳು, ಹೇರಳವಾಗಿದ್ದವು. BSB BSB: Thus Jacob became exceedingly prosperous. He owned large flocks, maidservants and menservants, and camels and donkeys.
