2 ULB ಯೆಹೂದವು ದುಃಖಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಅಲ್ಲಿಯ ಜನರು ಕಂಗೆಟ್ಟು ಕರ್ರಗಾಗಿ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರ ಗೋಳಾಟವು ಕೇಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. BSB BSB: “Judah mourns and her gates languish. Her people wail for the land, and a cry goes up from Jerusalem.
3 ULB ಅವರಲ್ಲಿನ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಕೆಳಗಿನವರನ್ನು ನೀರು ತರಲು ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಕೊಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ನೀರು ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಬರೀ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆಶೆಗೆಟ್ಟು ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಟ್ಟು ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. BSB BSB: The nobles send their servants for water; they go to the cisterns, but find no water; their jars return empty. They are ashamed and humiliated; they cover their heads.
4 ULB ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಬಿರುಕುಬಿಟ್ಟಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ರೈತರು ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಟ್ಟು ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. BSB BSB: The ground is cracked because no rain has fallen on the land. The farmers are ashamed; they cover their heads.
5 ULB ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಜಿಂಕೆಯು ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈದು, ಹುಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ತನ್ನ ಮರಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ. BSB BSB: Even the doe in the field deserts her newborn fawn because there is no grass.
6 ULB ಕಾಡುಕತ್ತೆಗಳು ಬೋಳುಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ನರಿಗಳಂತೆ ನಿಟ್ಟುಸಿರುಬಿಟ್ಟು ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾರೈಸುತ್ತವೆ, ಸೊಪ್ಪುಸದೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕಂಗೆಡುತ್ತವೆ. BSB BSB: Wild donkeys stand on barren heights; they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail for lack of pasture.”
7 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸು. ನಮ್ಮ ದ್ರೋಹಗಳು ಬಹಳ, ನಿನ್ನ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. BSB BSB: Although our iniquities testify against us, O LORD, act for the sake of Your name. Indeed, our rebellions are many; we have sinned against You.
8 ULB ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯೇ, ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಕನೇ, ಏಕೆ ಸ್ವದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರದೇಶಿಯಂತೆಯೂ, ಇಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಗುಡಾರಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕನ ಹಾಗೂ ಇದ್ದೀ? BSB BSB: O Hope of Israel, its Savior in times of distress, why are You like a stranger in the land, like a traveler who stays but a night?
9 ULB ಏಕೆ ಸ್ತಬ್ಧನಂತೆಯೂ, ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾರದ ಶೂರನ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಇದ್ದೀ? ಆದರೂ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತಿ. ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನವರು, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡಬೇಡ. BSB BSB: Why are You like a man taken by surprise, like a warrior powerless to save? Yet You are among us, O LORD, and we are called by Your name. Do not forsake us!
10 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು, <<ಇವರು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕನ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಲೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಕಾಲನ್ನು ಹಿಂದೆಗೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನಾನು ಇವರನ್ನು ಕಟಾಕ್ಷಿಸೆನು; ಈಗಲೇ ಇವರ ಅಪರಾಧವನ್ನು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಇವರ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಗೆ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸುವೆನು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ. BSB BSB: This is what the LORD says about this people: “Truly they love to wander; they have not restrained their feet. So the LORD does not accept them; He will now remember their iniquity and punish them for their sins.”
11 ULB ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ, <<ಈ ಜನರ ಹಿತವನ್ನು ಬಯಸಿ ಇವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ. BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to me, “Do not pray for the well-being of this people.
12 ULB ಇವರು ಉಪವಾಸಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಇವರ ಮೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳೆನು. ಹೋಮನೈವೇದ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸೆನು. ಖಡ್ಗ, ಕ್ಷಾಮ ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯಾಧಿಗಳಿಂದ ಇವರನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲಮಾಡುವೆನು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: Although they may fast, I will not listen to their cry; although they may offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Instead, I will finish them off by sword and famine and plague.”
13 ULB ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು, <<ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಇಗೋ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ, <ಖಡ್ಗವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಕಾಣದು, ಕ್ಷಾಮವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸದು; ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವನು ಎಂದು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ>>> ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದೆನು. BSB BSB: “Ah, Lord GOD!” I replied, “Look, the prophets are telling them, ‘You will not see the sword or suffer famine, but I will give you lasting peace in this place.’”
14 ULB ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ನುಡಿದನು, <<ಈ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಏನೂ ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಸುಳ್ಳಾದ ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನೂ, ಕಣಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಮಾಯಾತಂತ್ರವನ್ನೂ, ಸ್ವಕಲ್ಪಿತ ಮೋಸವನ್ನೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. BSB BSB: “The prophets are prophesying lies in My name,” replied the LORD. “I did not send them or appoint them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a false vision, a worthless divination, the futility and delusion of their own minds.
15 ULB ಆದಕಾರಣ ನನ್ನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಖಡ್ಗವೂ, ಕ್ಷಾಮವೂ ಈ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರವು ಎಂದು ಬೋಧಿಸುವ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನಾನು, <ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದಲೂ, ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಈ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲರಾಗುವರು>>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. BSB BSB: Therefore this is what the LORD says about the prophets who prophesy in My name: I did not send them, yet they say, ‘No sword or famine will touch this land.’ By sword and famine these very prophets will meet their end!
16 ULB ಮತ್ತು ಇವರ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವ ಜನರು ಕ್ಷಾಮ ಮತ್ತು ಖಡ್ಗಗಳ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಸಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವರು; ಅವರನ್ನೂ ಅವರ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಹೂಣಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಾನು ಅವರ ದುಷ್ಟತನವನ್ನೇ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊಯ್ದುಬಿಡುವೆನು. BSB BSB: And the people to whom they prophesy will be thrown into the streets of Jerusalem because of famine and sword. There will be no one to bury them or their wives, their sons or their daughters. I will pour out their own evil upon them.
17 ULB ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, <<ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣೀರು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಹಗಲು ನಿರಂತರ ಸುರಿಯಲಿ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಜನವೆಂಬ ಯುವತಿಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಾಯವಾಯಿತು, ಹೌದು ಗಡುಸಾದ ಪೆಟ್ಟು ಬಿತ್ತು. BSB BSB: You are to speak this word to them: ‘My eyes overflow with tears; day and night they do not cease, for the virgin daughter of my people has been shattered by a crushing blow, a severely grievous wound.
18 ULB ನಾನು ಊರ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಇಗೋ, ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ಹತರಾದವರು, ಊರೊಳಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಇಗೋ, ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದ ಕೊರಗುವವರು! ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಯಾಜಕರೂ ತಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಗಡೀಪಾರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳು>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: If I go out to the country, I see those slain by the sword; if I enter the city, I see those ravaged by famine! For both prophet and priest travel to a land they do not know.’”
19 ULB ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದವನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀಯೋ? ಚೀಯೋನನ್ನು ಮನಃಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಅಸಹ್ಯಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಿಯೋ? ನಮಗೆ ಗುಣವಾಗದಂತೆ ಏಕೆ ಪೆಟ್ಟುಹೊಡೆದಿ? ಸುಖವನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದೆವು, ಯಾವ ಮೇಲೂ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಕ್ಷೇಮ ಕಾಲವನ್ನೂ ಎದುರುನೋಡಿದೆವು, ಹಾ, ಅಂಜಿಕೆಯೇ! BSB BSB: Have You rejected Judah completely? Do You despise Zion? Why have You stricken us so that we are beyond healing? We hoped for peace, but no good has come, and for the time of healing, but there was only terror.
20 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ದುಷ್ಟತನವನ್ನೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದುರಾಚಾರವನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ; ನಾವು ನಿನಗೇ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. BSB BSB: We acknowledge our wickedness, O LORD, the guilt of our fathers; indeed, we have sinned against You.
21 ULB ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಮದ ಮೇಲೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಡು, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನು ಅಸಡ್ಡೆಮಾಡಬೇಡ. ಅವಮಾನಪಡಿಸಬೇಡ; ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದುಕೋ, ಅದನ್ನು ಭಂಗಪಡಿಸದಿರು. BSB BSB: For the sake of Your name do not despise us; do not disgrace Your glorious throne. Remember Your covenant with us; do not break it.
22 ULB ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸಬಲ್ಲವುಗಳುಂಟೇ? ಆಕಾಶವು ತಾನಾಗಿ ಹದಮಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟೀತೇ? ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನೀನೇ ವೃಷ್ಟಿಪ್ರದನು; ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೇ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವೆವು. ನೀನು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಡೆಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದೀಯಷ್ಟೆ. BSB BSB: Can the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies alone send showers? Is this not by You, O LORD our God? So we put our hope in You, for You have done all these things.
