1 ULB ಯೋಷೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನು ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನಿಂದ ಯೆಹೂದ ದೇಶದ ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತರಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಕೊನ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ರಾಜ್ಯವಾಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made Zedekiah son of Josiah the king of Judah, and he reigned in place of Coniah son of Jehoiakim.
2 ULB ಆಗ ಅವನಾಗಲಿ, ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ದೇಶದ ಜನರಾಗಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಂದ ನುಡಿಸಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದರು. BSB BSB: But he and his officers and the people of the land refused to obey the words that the LORD had spoken through Jeremiah the prophet.
4 ULB ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ ಬರುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: Now Jeremiah was free to come and go among the people, for they had not yet put him in prison.
5 ULB ಆಗ ಫರೋಹನ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ಐಗುಪ್ತದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟಿತ್ತು; ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮನ್ನು ಮುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಸ್ದೀಯರು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರು. BSB BSB: Pharaoh’s army had left Egypt, and when the Chaldeans who were besieging Jerusalem heard the report, they withdrew from Jerusalem.
6 ULB ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet:
7 ULB <<ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿರಿ, <ಇಗೋ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟಿರುವ ಫರೋಹನ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ಸ್ವದೇಶವಾದ ಐಗುಪ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವುದು. BSB BSB: “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says that you are to tell the king of Judah, who sent you to Me: Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which has marched out to help you, will go back to its own land of Egypt.
8 ULB ಕಸ್ದೀಯರು ಪುನಃ ಬಂದು ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಡಿ, ಆಕ್ರಮಿಸಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವರು>>> ಎಂಬುದು. BSB BSB: Then the Chaldeans will return and fight against this city. They will capture it and burn it down.
9 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, <<ಕಸ್ದೀಯರು ನಮ್ಮಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು ಖಂಡಿತ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೀವೇ ಮೋಸಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಅವರು ತೊಲಗುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: This is what the LORD says: Do not deceive yourselves by saying, ‘The Chaldeans will go away for good,’ for they will not!
10 ULB ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸುವ ಕಸ್ದೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಯಪಟ್ಟವರು ಮಾತ್ರ ಉಳಿಯುವಂತೆ ನೀವು ಆ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಹೊಡೆದಿದ್ದರೂ ಆ ಗಾಯಪಟ್ಟವರೇ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಗುಡಾರಗಳಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದು ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.>> BSB BSB: Indeed, if you were to strike down the entire army of the Chaldeans that is fighting against you, and only wounded men remained in their tents, they would still get up and burn this city down.”
11 ULB ಕಸ್ದೀಯರ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ಫರೋಹನ ಸೈನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದರು. BSB BSB: When the Chaldean army withdrew from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh’s army,
12 ULB ಆಮೇಲೆ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕಾದ ಸ್ವತ್ತನ್ನು ಜನರ ಸಮಕ್ಷಮದಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಟನು. BSB BSB: Jeremiah started to leave Jerusalem to go to the land of Benjamin to claim his portion there among the people.
13 ULB ಅವನು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನು ಹಾದುಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಶೆಲೆಮ್ಯನ ಮಗನೂ ಹನನ್ಯನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಇರೀಯನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪಹರೆಯ ವಿಚಾರಕನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, <<ನೀನು ಕಸ್ದೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊರೆಹೋಗಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: But when he reached the Gate of Benjamin, the captain of the guard, whose name was Irijah son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah, seized him and said, “You are deserting to the Chaldeans!”
14 ULB ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು, <<ಅದು ಸುಳ್ಳು, ನಾನು ಕಸ್ದೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊರೆಹೋಗುವವನಲ್ಲ>> ಎನ್ನಲು ಇರೀಯನು ಅವನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಪ್ರಧಾನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದನು. BSB BSB: “That is a lie,” Jeremiah replied. “I am not deserting to the Chaldeans!” But Irijah would not listen to him; instead, he arrested Jeremiah and took him to the officials.
15 ULB ಆ ಪ್ರಧಾನರು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯಿಸಿ, ತಾವು ಬಂದಿಖಾನೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋನಾಥಾನನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೆರೆಹಾಕಿಸಿದರು. BSB BSB: The officials were angry with Jeremiah, and they beat him and placed him in jail in the house of Jonathan the scribe, for it had been made into a prison.
16 ULB ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಆ ಬಂದಿಖಾನೆಯ ನೆಲಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ದಿನಗಳು ಇದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: So Jeremiah went into a cell in the dungeon and remained there a long time.
17 ULB ಆಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, <<ಯೆಹೋವನಿಂದ ದೈವೋಕ್ತಿಯು ದೊರೆಯಿತೋ?>> ಎಂದು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು, <<ಹೌದು, ದೊರೆಯಿತು, ನೀನು ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬೀಳುವಿ>> ಅಂದನು. BSB BSB: Later, King Zedekiah sent for Jeremiah and received him in his palace, where he asked him privately, “Is there a word from the LORD?” “There is,” Jeremiah replied. “You will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.”
18 ULB ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ, <<ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ನಿನಗಾಗಲಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಈ ಜನರಿಗಾಗಲಿ ಯಾವ ಅಪರಾಧವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದೆನು? BSB BSB: Then Jeremiah asked King Zedekiah, “How have I sinned against you or your servants or these people, that you have put me in prison?
19 ULB ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ನಿಮಗೂ ಈ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೂ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಾರಿದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಈಗ ಎಲ್ಲಿ? BSB BSB: Where are your prophets who prophesied to you, claiming, ‘The king of Babylon will not come against you or this land’?
20 ULB ಎನ್ನೊಡೆಯನೇ, ಅರಸನೇ, ಈಗ ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಲಾಲಿಸು; ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋನಾಥಾನನ ಮನೆಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಸೇರಿಸಬೇಡ, ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಸತ್ತೇನು, ನನ್ನ ಬಿನ್ನಹವು ನಿನಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಲಿ>> ಎಂದು ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿದನು. BSB BSB: But now please listen, O my lord the king. May my petition come before you. Do not send me back to the house of Jonathan the scribe, or I will die there.”
21 ULB ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಡಲು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನನ್ನು ಕಾರಾಗೃಹದ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೀರುವ ತನಕ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ಪೇಟೆಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಒಂದೊಂದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಕಾರಾಗೃಹದ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲೇ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: So King Zedekiah gave orders for Jeremiah to be placed in the courtyard of the guard and given a loaf of bread daily from the street of the bakers, until all the bread in the city was gone. So Jeremiah remained in the courtyard of the guard.
