1 ULB ದೇವದೂತರು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ದಿನ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಸೈತಾನನೂ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. BSB BSB: On another day the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them to present himself before Him.
2 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು, <<ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದೆ?>> ಎಂದು ಸೈತಾನನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು ಸೈತಾನನು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ, <<ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದು ಬಂದೆನು>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: “Where have you come from?” said the LORD to Satan. “From roaming through the earth,” he replied, “and walking back and forth in it.”
3 ULB ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಸೈತಾನನಿಗೆ, <<ನನ್ನ ದಾಸನಾದ ಯೋಬನ ಮೇಲೆ ಗಮನವಿಟ್ಟೆಯಾ? ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನನು ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯೂ, ಯಥಾರ್ಥಚಿತ್ತನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದರೂ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಯಥಾರ್ಥತ್ವವನ್ನು ಬಿಡದೆ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one on earth like him, a man who is blameless and upright, who fears God and shuns evil. He still retains his integrity, even though you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause.”
4 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಸೈತಾನನು, <<ಚರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಚರ್ಮ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ತನ್ನ ಸರ್ವಸ್ವವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವನು. BSB BSB: “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give up all he owns in exchange for his life.
5 ULB ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಚಾಚಿ ಅವನ ಅಸ್ತಿಮಾಂಸಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆ. ಆಗ ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಖದೆದುರಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸದೆ ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: But stretch out Your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse You to Your face.”
6 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು ಸೈತಾನನಿಗೆ, <<ನೋಡು, ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಬೇಕು>> ಎಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. BSB BSB: “Very well,” said the LORD to Satan. “He is in your hands, but you must spare his life.”
7 ULB ಆಗ ಸೈತಾನನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಯೋಬನ ಅಂಗಾಲು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ನಡುನೆತ್ತಿಯವರೆಗೂ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಹುಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಾಧಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and infected Job with terrible boils from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.
8 ULB ಯೋಬನು ಒಂದು ಬೋಕಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಮೈಯನ್ನು ಕೆರೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಬೂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: And Job took a piece of broken pottery to scrape himself as he sat among the ashes.
9 ULB ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, <<ನಿನ್ನ ಯಥಾರ್ಥತ್ವವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಇದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ದೇವರನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿ ಸಾಯಿ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಳು. BSB BSB: Then Job’s wife said to him, “Do you still retain your integrity? Curse God and die!”
10 ULB ಆಗ ಯೋಬನು ಆಕೆಗೆ, <<ಮೂರ್ಖಳು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದಂತೆ ನೀನು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿ. ದೇವರ ಹಸ್ತದಿಂದ ನಾವು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವಾಗ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಬಾರದೋ?>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪಾಪದ ಮಾತು ಅವನ ತುಟಿಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊರಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: “You speak as a foolish woman speaks,” he told her. “Should we accept from God only good and not adversity?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.
11 ULB ತೇಮಾನ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಫಜನು, ಶೂಹ್ಯನಾದ ಬಿಲ್ದದನು, ನಾಮಾಥ್ಯನಾದ ಚೋಫರನು ಎಂಬ ಯೋಬನ ಮೂವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಆಪತ್ತಿನ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದೊಡನೆ, <<ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೂಡಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂತಾಪವನ್ನು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸಿ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸೋಣ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ>> ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಂದ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. BSB BSB: Now when Job’s three friends—Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite—heard about all this adversity that had come upon him, each of them came from his home, and they met together to go and sympathize with Job and comfort him.
12 ULB ಅವರು ದೂರದಿಂದ ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಿ ಯೋಬನ ಗುರುತನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯಲಾರದೆ ಹೋದ ಕಾರಣ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಅತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲಂಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ಮಣ್ಣನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ತೂರಿ ತಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿದುಕೊಂಡರು. BSB BSB: When they lifted up their eyes from afar, they could barely recognize Job. They began to weep aloud, and each man tore his robe and threw dust in the air over his head.
13 ULB ಬಳಿಕ ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿಪರೀತ ಬಾಧೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಏಳು ದಿನಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಹಗಲಿರುಳೂ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡರು. ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಬ್ಬರೂ ಮಾತನಾಡದೇ ಇದ್ದರು. BSB BSB: Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights, but no one spoke a word to him because they saw how intense his suffering was.
