4 ULB ಯೋಹಾನನು ಬಂದು ಜನರಿಗೆ, ನೀವು ಪಾಪಗಳ ಕ್ಷಮಾಪಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಉಪದೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
5 ULB ಆಗ ಯೂದಾಯ ಸೀಮೆಯೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. BSB BSB: People went out to him from all of Jerusalem and the countryside of Judea. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.
6 ULB ಈ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಒಂಟೆಯ ರೋಮದ ಹೊದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಚರ್ಮದ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನು ಮಿಡತೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕಾಡುಜೇನನ್ನೂ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸೇವಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: John was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
7 ULB ಅವನು <<ನನಗಿಂತ ಶಕ್ತನು ನನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆತನ ಕೆರಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಗ್ಗಿ ಬಿಚ್ಚುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾನು ಯೋಗ್ಯನಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: And he proclaimed: “After me will come One more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.
8 ULB ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಆತನಾದರೋ ನಿಮಗೆ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ>> ಎಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
9 ULB ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸು ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಸೀಮೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ನಜರೇತೆಂಬ ಊರಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಹಾನನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. BSB BSB: In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 ULB ಯೇಸುವು ನೀರಿನೊಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಪರಲೋಕವು ತೆರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ದೇವರಾತ್ಮನು ಪಾರಿವಾಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಳಿಯುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು. BSB BSB: As soon as Jesus came up out of the water, He saw the heavens breaking open and the Spirit descending on Him like a dove.
11 ULB ಆಗ <<ನೀನು ಪ್ರಿಯನಾಗಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದೇನೆ>> ಎಂಬ ದೈವ ವಾಣಿ ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿಸಿತು. BSB BSB: And a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
12 ULB ಕೂಡಲೇ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ಪ್ರೇರಿತನಾಗಿ ಯೇಸು ಅಡವಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು. BSB BSB: At once the Spirit drove Jesus into the wilderness,
13 ULB ಆತನು ನಲವತ್ತು ದಿವಸ ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಡುಮೃಗಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದು ಸೈತಾನನಿಂದ ಶೋಧಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು ಮತ್ತು ದೇವದೂತರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ಉಪಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರು. BSB BSB: and He was there for forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels ministered to Him.

16 ULB ಯೇಸು ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಸೀಮೋನನು ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಅಂದ್ರೆಯನು ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲೆ ಬೀಸುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು. ಅವರು ಬೆಸ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. BSB BSB: As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

18 ULB ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಬಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು. BSB BSB: And at once they left their nets and followed Him.
20 ULB ಅವನು ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅವರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದನು. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಜೆಬೆದಾಯನನ್ನು ಕೂಲಿಯಾಳುಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ದೋಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು. BSB BSB: Immediately Jesus called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed Him.
22 ULB ಜನರು ಆತನ ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಆತ್ಯಾಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆತನು ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳಂತೆ ಬೋಧಿಸದೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರವಿದ್ದವನಂತೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: The people were astonished at His teaching, because He taught as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.
23 ULB ಆಗ ಅವರ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ದೆವ್ವಹಿಡಿದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: Suddenly a man with an unclean spirit cried out in the synagogue:
24 ULB ಆ ದೆವ್ವವು, <<ನಜರೇತಿನ ಯೇಸುವೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ಗೊಡವೆ ನಿನಗೇಕೆ? ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದೆಯಾ? ನೀನು ಯಾರೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು. ನೀನು ದೇವರಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧನು>> ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿತು. BSB BSB: “What do You want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
25 ULB ಯೇಸು ಅದನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿ, <<ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಾ>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: But Jesus rebuked the spirit. “Be silent!” He said. “Come out of him!”
26 ULB ಆ ದೆವ್ವವು ಅವನನ್ನು ಒದ್ದಾಡಿಸಿ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ, ಅವನೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದಿತು. BSB BSB: At this, the unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions and came out with a loud shriek.
27 ULB ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಬೆರಗಾಗಿ, <<ಇದೇನು? ಅಧಿಕಾರಸಹಿತವಾದ ಹೊಸ ಬೋಧನೆ! ಈತನು ದೆವ್ವಗಳಿಗೂ ಸಹ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಅವು ಈತನಿಗೆ ವಿಧೇಯವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ!>> ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮತಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ವಿಚಾರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. BSB BSB: All the people were amazed and began to ask one another, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!”
28 ULB ಕೂಡಲೆ ಆತನ ಸುದ್ದಿಯು ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಬ್ಬಿತು. BSB BSB: And the news about Jesus spread quickly through the whole region of Galilee.
30 ULB ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀಮೋನನ ಅತ್ತೆ ಜ್ವರದಿಂದ ಮಲಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಆಕೆಯ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. BSB BSB: Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and they promptly told Jesus about her.
31 ULB ಆತನು ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಆಕೆಯ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲು ಜ್ವರವು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಯಿತು; ಆಕೆಯು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉಪಚಾರಮಾಡಿದಳು. BSB BSB: So He went to her, took her by the hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began to serve them.
33 ULB ಊರಿನವರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿದ್ದರು. BSB BSB: and the whole town gathered at the door.
34 ULB ಆಗ ಆತನು ನಾನಾ ರೀತಿಯ ರೋಗಗಳಿಂದ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಬಹು ಜನರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡಿ ಅನೇಕ ದೆವ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ತಾನು ಇಂಥವನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡಗೊಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: And He healed many who were ill with various diseases and drove out many demons. But He would not allow the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.
35 ULB ಮುಂಜಾನೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಮೊಬ್ಬಿರುವಾಗ ಆತನು ಎದ್ದು ನಿರ್ಜನ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and went out to a solitary place to pray.
36 ULB ಸೀಮೋನನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದವರೂ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಆತನಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, BSB BSB: Simon and his companions went to look for Him,
37 ULB ಆತನನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ <<ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಎದುರುನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ>> ಎಂದರು. BSB BSB: and when they found Him, they said, “Everyone is looking for You!”
38 ULB ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, <<ನಾವು ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬೇರೆ ಊರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗೋಣ; ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಾನು ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರಬೇಕು; ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ನಾನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: But Jesus answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns so I can preach there as well, for that is why I have come.”
39 ULB ಬಳಿಕ ಆತನು ಗಲಿಲಾಯದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತಾ ದೆವ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: So He went throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.
41 ULB ಯೇಸು ಕನಿಕರಪಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ಕೈ ಚಾಚಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿ, <<ನನಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸುಂಟು; ಶುದ್ಧನಾಗು>> ಅಂದನು. BSB BSB: Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!”
42 ULB ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವನ ಕುಷ್ಠವು ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವನು ಶುದ್ಧನಾದನು. BSB BSB: And immediately the leprosy left him, and the man was cleansed.
43 ULB ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, <<ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಏನೂ ಹೇಳಬೇಡ ನೋಡು; BSB BSB: Jesus promptly sent him away with a stern warning:
44 ULB ಹೋಗಿ ಯಾಜಕನಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೈ ತೋರಿಸಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಶುದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿರುವಂಥವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸು. ಅದು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ>> ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೂಡಲೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟನು. BSB BSB: “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering Moses prescribed for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
45 ULB ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾಕಡೆಗೂ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಸಾರಿ ಹಬ್ಬಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೇಸು ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಗಿ ಬೇರೆ ಊರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಲಾರದೆ ನಿರ್ಜನ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದನು. ಆದರೂ ಜನರು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. BSB BSB: But the man went out and openly began to proclaim and spread the news. Consequently, Jesus could no longer enter a town in plain view, but He stayed out in solitary places. Yet people came to Him from every quarter.
