1 ULB ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ ಜನರು ತಮಗೆ ದುರಾವಸ್ಥೆ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಗುಣುಗುಟ್ಟುವವರಾದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಪಾಳೆಯದ ಕಡೇ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರು ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋದರು. BSB BSB: Soon the people began to complain about their hardship in the hearing of the LORD, and when He heard them, His anger was kindled, and fire from the LORD blazed among them and consumed the outskirts of the camp.
2 ULB ಆಗ ಜನರು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟರು. ಮೋಶೆ ಅವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಲಾಗಿ ಆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಆರಿಹೋಯಿತು. BSB BSB: And the people cried out to Moses, and he prayed to the LORD, and the fire died down.
3 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಉರಿದುದರಿಂದ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ<< ತಬೇರ>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು. BSB BSB: So that place was called Taberah, because the fire of the LORD had burned among them.
4 ULB ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಇತರ ಜನರು ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಆಶಿಸಿದರು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಪುನಃ ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿಡುತ್ತಾ ಅಯ್ಯೋ, <<ಮಾಂಸವು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕೀತು? BSB BSB: Meanwhile, the rabble among them had a strong craving for other food, and again the Israelites wept and said, “Who will feed us meat?
5 ULB ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಮೀನು, ಸೌತೆಕಾಯಿ, ಕರ್ಬೂಜ, ಈರುಳ್ಳಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಬೆಳ್ಳುಳ್ಳಿ ಇವು ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ. BSB BSB: We remember the fish we ate freely in Egypt, along with the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic.
6 ULB ಇಲ್ಲಿಯಾದರೋ ನಾವು ಬಲಹೀನರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಈ ಮನ್ನವೇ ಹೊರತು ನಮಗೆ ಇನ್ನೇನೂ ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ>> ಎಂದು ನಿಷ್ಠುರವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡ ತೊಡಗಿದರು. BSB BSB: But now our appetite is gone; there is nothing to see but this manna!”
7 ULB ಆ ಮನ್ನವು ಕೊತ್ತುಂಬರಿ ಬೀಜದ ಹಾಗೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಅದು ಗುಗ್ಗುಲದಂತೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. BSB BSB: Now the manna resembled coriander seed, and its appearance was like that of gum resin.
8 ULB ಜನರು ತಿರುಗಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬೀಸುವ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಬೀಸಿ, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಒರಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಟ್ಟಿ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಯಿಸಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅದರ ರುಚಿ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಬೆರಸಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಭಕ್ಷ್ಯಗಳಂತಿತ್ತು. BSB BSB: The people walked around and gathered it, ground it on a handmill or crushed it in a mortar, then boiled it in a cooking pot or shaped it into cakes. It tasted like pastry baked with fine oil.
9 ULB ರಾತ್ರಿ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಜು ಪಾಳೆಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮನ್ನವೂ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. BSB BSB: When the dew fell on the camp at night, the manna would fall with it.
10 ULB ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಡೇರೆ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿಟ್ಟು ಅಳುವ ಆ ಶಬ್ದವು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಸಿತು. ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಬಹಳ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡನು. ಅವರ ಗುಣುಗುಟ್ಟುವಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಬೇಸರವಾಯಿತು. BSB BSB: Then Moses heard the people of family after family weeping at the entrances to their tents, and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly, and Moses was also displeased.
11 ULB ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ, <<ಈ ಜನರನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ ಹೊಣೆಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊರಿಸಿ ನೀನು ಏಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸನಿಗೆ ತೊಂದರೆಯನ್ನು ತಂದಿದ್ದೀ? ನಿನ್ನ ದಯೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಯಾಕೆ ಅಪಾತ್ರನಾದೆ? BSB BSB: So Moses asked the LORD, “Why have You brought this trouble on Your servant? Why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid upon me the burden of all these people?
12 ULB ನಾನು ಇವರಿಗೆ ಹೆತ್ತ ತಾಯಿಯೇ? ಇವರನ್ನು ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ, ಮಡಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀಯಲ್ಲಾ? BSB BSB: Did I conceive all these people? Did I give them birth, so that You should tell me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries an infant,’ to the land that You swore to give their fathers?
13 ULB ಇವರು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಅಳುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದು, <ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ತಿನ್ನಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡು> ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾರಲ್ಲಾ, ಇಷ್ಟು ಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಮಾಂಸವು ನನಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ದೊರಕೀತು? BSB BSB: Where can I get meat for all these people? For they keep crying out to me, ‘Give us meat to eat!’
14 ULB ಇಷ್ಟು ಜನರ ಹೊಣೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಹೊರುವುದು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ; ಅದು ನನ್ನ ಶಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಮೀರಿದ ಕೆಲಸ. BSB BSB: I cannot carry all these people by myself; it is too burdensome for me.
15 ULB ನೀನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಈಗಲೇ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಉಪಕಾರವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ನನಗಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ದುರಾವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ಸಹಿಸಲಾರೆ>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: If this is how You are going to treat me, please kill me right now—if I have found favor in Your eyes—and let me not see my own wretchedness.”
16 ULB ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೇಂದರೆ, <<ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿರಿಯರೆಂದೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳೆಂದೂ ನೀನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ದೇವದರ್ಶನದ ಗುಡಾರದ ಬಾಗಿಲಿಗೆ ಕರೆದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನೊಡನೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿಕೋ. BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses, “Bring Me seventy of the elders of Israel known to you as leaders and officers of the people. Bring them to the Tent of Meeting and have them stand there with you.
17 ULB ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವೆನು. ಅದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿರುವ ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೂ ಪಾಲುಕೊಡುವೆನು. ಆಗ ನೀನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಈ ಜನರ ಹೊಣೆಯನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಿನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರೂ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ವಹಿಸುವರು.>> BSB BSB: And I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the Spirit that is on you and put that Spirit on them. They will help you bear the burden of the people, so that you do not have to bear it by yourself.
18 ULB ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳು, <<ನಾಳೆಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ನಾಳೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾಂಸವು ದೊರೆಯುವುದು. ನೀವು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಸುವಂತೆ, <ನಮಗೆ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವವರೇ ಇಲ್ಲ; ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಸುಖವಾಗಿದ್ದೇವಲ್ಲಾ> ಎಂದು ಅಳುತ್ತಾ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡುವನು. BSB BSB: And say to the people: Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you will eat meat, because you have cried out in the hearing of the LORD, saying: ‘Who will feed us meat? For we were better off in Egypt!’ Therefore the LORD will give you meat, and you will eat.
19 ULB ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನುವುದು ಒಂದು ದಿನವಲ್ಲ, ಎರಡು ದಿನವಲ್ಲ, ಐದು ದಿನವಲ್ಲ, ಹತ್ತು ದಿನವಲ್ಲ, ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ದಿನವೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: You will eat it not for one or two days, nor for five or ten or twenty days,
20 ULB ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳು ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಊಟಮಾಡುವಿರಿ. ಅದು ವಾಕರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೂಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರಟು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗುವ ತನಕ ಅದನ್ನು ಊಟಮಾಡುವಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ನೀವು ಅಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಮಾಡಿ ಆತನ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ತು, <ನಾವು ಏಕೆ ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಂದೆವು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀರಲ್ಲಾ> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: but for a whole month—until it comes out of your nostrils and makes you nauseous—because you have rejected the LORD, who is among you, and have cried out before Him, saying, ‘Why did we ever leave Egypt?’”
21 ULB ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೋಶೆ, <<ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವ ಜನರು ಆರು ಲಕ್ಷ ಕಾಲಾಳುಗಳು, ಆದರೂ ನೀನು, <ಇವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳು ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಲು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೀ. BSB BSB: But Moses replied, “Here I am among 600,000 men on foot, yet You say, ‘I will give them meat, and they will eat for a month.’
22 ULB ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು ಸಿಕ್ಕುವಂತೆ ನಾವು ಹಿಂಡಿನಿಂದ ಆಡು, ಕುರಿ, ದನಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಯ್ಯಬೇಕನ್ನುತ್ತಿಯೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮೀನುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೋ?>> ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: If all our flocks and herds were slaughtered for them, would they have enough? Or if all the fish in the sea were caught for them, would they have enough?”
23 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ, <<ನನ್ನ ಕೈ ಮೋಟುಗೈಯೋ? ನನ್ನ ಮಾತು ನೆರವೇರುತ್ತದೋ, ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಈಗ ನೀನು ನೋಡುವಿ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: The LORD answered Moses, “Is the LORD’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not My word will come to pass.”
24 ULB ಮೋಶೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಜನರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು ಮತ್ತು ಅವನು ಜನರ ಹಿರಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ದೇವದರ್ಶನದ ಗುಡಾರದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: So Moses went out and relayed to the people the words of the LORD, and he gathered seventy of the elders of the people and had them stand around the tent.
25 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆ ಮೇಘದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು. ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವನ್ನು ಆ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೂ ಪಾಲುಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಆ ಆತ್ಮವು ಅವರಿಗೆ ದೊರಕಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಪರವಶರಾಗಿ ಆ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದರು. ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: Then the LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to him, and He took some of the Spirit that was on Moses and placed that Spirit on the seventy elders. As the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied—but they never did so again.
26 ULB ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ದಾದ್, ಮೇದಾದ್ ಎಂಬ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪಾಳೆಯದೊಳಗೆ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಅವರು ದೇವದರ್ಶನದ ಗುಡಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆ ಆತ್ಮವು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಳಿದುಬಂದುದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಪಾಳೆಯದೊಳಗೆ ಪರವಶರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದರು. BSB BSB: Two men, however, had remained in the camp—one named Eldad and the other Medad—and the Spirit rested on them. They were among those listed, but they had not gone out to the tent, and they prophesied in the camp.
27 ULB ಪಾಳೆಯದಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಹುಡುಗನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿ ಬಂದು, <<ಎಲ್ದಾದ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮೇದಾದರು ಪಾಳೆಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರವಶರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ>> ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: A young man ran and reported to Moses, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.”
28 ULB ಮೋಶೆಯ ಶಿಷ್ಯನಾದ ನೂನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ, <<ಗುರುವೇ, ಅವರು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: Joshua son of Nun, the attendant to Moses since youth, spoke up and said, “Moses, my lord, stop them!”
29 ULB ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೋಶೆ, <<ನನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಕಿಚ್ಚುಪಡುತ್ತೀಯೋ? ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹದಿಂದ ಆತನ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವರೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವವರೂ ಆದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು>> ಎಂದನು. BSB BSB: But Moses replied, “Are you jealous on my account? I wish that all the LORD’s people were prophets and that the LORD would place His Spirit on them!”
30 ULB ತರುವಾಯ ಮೋಶೆಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಹಿರಿಯರೂ ಪಾಳೆಯದೊಳಗೆ ಬಂದು ಸೇರಿದರು. BSB BSB: Then Moses returned to the camp, along with the elders of Israel.
31 ULB ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಗಾಳಿ ಹೊರಟು ಸಮುದ್ರದಿಂದ ಲಾವಕ್ಕಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಪಾಳೆಯದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಒಂದು ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದಷ್ಟು ದೂರದವರೆಗೆ ಭೂಮಿಗಿಂತ ಎರಡು ಮೊಳ ಎತ್ತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರುತ್ತಾ ಬರುವಂತೆಮಾಡಿತು. BSB BSB: Now a wind sent by the LORD came up, drove in quail from the sea, and brought them near the camp, about two cubits above the surface of the ground, for a day’s journey in every direction around the camp.
32 ULB ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಆ ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ, ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ, ಮರುದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಲಾವಕ್ಕಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿದರು. ಯಾರು ಹತ್ತು ಹೋಮೆರಿಗಿಂತ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಪಾಳೆಯದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. BSB BSB: All that day and night, and all the next day, the people stayed up gathering the quail. No one gathered less than ten homers, and they spread them out all around the camp.
33 ULB ಆದರೆ ಮಾಂಸವು ಇನ್ನೂ ಅವರ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಇದ್ದಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ಅಗೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಕೂಪವು ಉರಿದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಜನರನ್ನು ಘೋರವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಿಂದ ಸಾಯಿಸಿದನು. BSB BSB: But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of the LORD burned against the people, and the LORD struck them with a severe plague.
