Numbers 13 (ULB)

1ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ,And the LORD said to Moses,

2<<ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಕಾನಾನ್ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನು ಒಂದೊಂದು ಕುಲದಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕು>> ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.“Send out for yourself men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each of their fathers’ tribes send one man who is a leader among them.”

3ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಮೋಶೆ ಪಾರಾನ್ ಅರಣ್ಯದಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.So at the command of the LORD, Moses sent them out from the Wilderness of Paran. All the men were leaders of the Israelites,

4ಅವರ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ: ರೂಬೇನ್ ಕುಲದ ಜಕ್ಕೂರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಶಮ್ಮೂವ,and these were their names: From the tribe of Reuben, Shammua son of Zaccur;

5ಸಿಮೆಯೋನ್ ಕುಲದ ಹೋರಿಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಶಾಫಾಟ್,from the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat son of Hori;

6ಯೆಹೂದ ಕುಲದ ಯೆಫುನ್ನೆಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಕಾಲೇಬ್,from the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;

7ಇಸ್ಸಾಕಾರ್ ಕುಲದ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಗಾಲ್,from the tribe of Issachar, Igal son of Joseph;

8ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ ಕುಲದ ನೂನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹೋಶೇಯ,from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Nun;

9ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ ಕುಲದ ರಾಫೂವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಪಲ್ಟೀ,from the tribe of Benjamin, Palti son of Raphu;

10ಜೆಬುಲೂನ್ ಕುಲದ ಸೋದೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗದ್ದೀಯೇಲ್,from the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel son of Sodi;

11ಯೋಸೇಫ್ ಅಂದರೆ ಮನಸ್ಸೆ ಕುಲದ ಸೂಸೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗದ್ದೀ,from the tribe of Manasseh (a tribe of Joseph), Gaddi son of Susi;

12ದಾನ್ ಕುಲದ ಗೆಮಲ್ಲೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಮ್ಮೀಯೇಲ್,from the tribe of Dan, Ammiel son of Gemalli;

13ಆಶೇರ್ ಕುಲದ ಮೀಕಾಯೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೆತೂರ್,from the tribe of Asher, Sethur son of Michael;

14ನಫ್ತಾಲಿ ಕುಲದ ವಾಪೆಸೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ನಹಬೀ,from the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi son of Vophsi;

15ಗಾದ್ ಕುಲದ ಮಾಕೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆಯೂವೇಲ್.and from the tribe of Gad, Geuel son of Machi.

16ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೋಶೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಇವೇ. ಮೋಶೆ ನೂನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹೋಶೇಯನಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನೆಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.These were the names of the men Moses sent to spy out the land; and Moses gave to Hoshea son of Nun the name Joshua.

17ಕಾನಾನ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೋಶೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವಾಗ ಅವರಿಗೆ, <<ನೀವು ಕಾನಾನ್ ದೇಶದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿಹೋಗಿ ಆ ದೇಶದ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೋಡಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.When Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, he told them, “Go up through the Negev and into the hill country.

18ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರೋ ಅಥವಾ ಬಲಹೀನರೋ, ಬಹಳ ಜನರೋ ಅಥವಾ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಜನರೋ,See what the land is like and whether its people are strong or weak, few or many.

19ಅವರ ದೇಶವು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೋ ಅಥವಾ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದೋ? ಅವರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಪಾಳೆಯಗಳೋ ಅಥವಾ ಕೋಟೆಗಳೋ?Is the land where they live good or bad? Are the cities where they dwell open camps or fortifications?

20ಭೂಮಿಯು ಸಾರವಾದುದೋ ಅಥವಾ ನಿಸ್ಸಾರವಾದುದೋ, ಮರಗಳುಳ್ಳದ್ದೋ ಅಥವಾ ಬಯಲುಪ್ರದೇಶವೋ ಎಂದು ನೋಡಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಅದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀವು ಧೈರ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದು ಆ ದೇಶದ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವನ್ನು ತರಬೇಕು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾಲತೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಫಲದ ಕಾಲವಾಗಿತ್ತು.Is the soil fertile or unproductive? Are there trees in it or not? Be courageous and bring back some of the fruit of the land.” (It was the season for the first ripe grapes.)

21ಅವರು ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಚಿನ್ ಅರಣ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹಮಾತಿನ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರೆಹೋಬಿನ ವರೆಗೆ ಆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿದರು.So they went up and spied out the land from the Wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo-hamath.

22ಅವರು ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಕಾನಾನ್ ದೇಶದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯವನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಹೀಮನ್, ಶೇಷೈ, ತಲ್ಮೈ ಎಂಬ ಉನ್ನತ ಪುರುಷರು ಇದ್ದರು. ಹೆಬ್ರೋನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಚೋವನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಏಳು ವರ್ಷ ಮೊದಲು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, dwelled. It had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.

23ಅವರು ಎಷ್ಕೋಲ್ ಎಂಬ ತಗ್ಗಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾಲತೆಯಿಂದ ಒಂದೇ ಗೊಂಚಲುಳ್ಳ ಕೊಂಬೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದರು; ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅದನ್ನು ಅಡ್ಡಕೋಲಿನಿಂದ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು. ಕೆಲವು ದಾಳಿಂಬೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂಜೂರದ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಂದರು.When they came to the Valley of Eshcol, they cut down a branch with a single cluster of grapes, which they carried on a pole between two men. They also took some pomegranates and figs.

24ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ಗೊಂಚಲನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದದ್ದರಿಂದಲೇ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ<< ಎಷ್ಕೋಲ್>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರು ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು.Because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut there, that place was called the Valley of Eshcol.

25ಅವರು ನಲ್ವತ್ತು ದಿನಗಳು ಆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿದರು.After forty days the men returned from spying out the land,

26ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಪಾರಾನ್ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಮೋಶೆ, ಆರೋನರು ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸರ್ವಸಮೂಹದವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಾದೇಶಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಆ ದೇಶದ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿದರು.and they went back to Moses, Aaron, and the whole congregation of Israel in the Wilderness of Paran at Kadesh. They brought back a report for the whole congregation and showed them the fruit of the land.

27ಅವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ, <<ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದೆವು; ಅದು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಹಾಲೂ ಮತ್ತು ಜೇನೂ ಹರಿಯುವ ದೇಶವೇ; ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಇಂಥವು.And they gave this account to Moses: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and indeed, it is flowing with milk and honey. Here is some of its fruit!

28ಆದರೆ ಆ ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರು: ಅವರಿರುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿಯೂ, ಕೋಟೆ ಕೊತ್ತಲುಗಳುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದೆ. ಅದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಪುರುಷರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದೆವು.Nevertheless, the people living in the land are strong, and the cities are large and fortified. We even saw the descendants of Anak there.

29ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರು, ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿತ್ತಿಯರು, ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರು, ಅಮೋರಿಯರು ಸಮುದ್ರತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರೂ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ>> ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.The Amalekites live in the land of the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live by the sea and along the Jordan.”

30ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಗುಣುಗುಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಕಾಲೇಬನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರಿಸಿ, <<ನಾವು ನಿರ್ಭಯವಾಗಿ ಆ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳೋಣ. ಅದನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸಲು ನಾವು ಶಕ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “We must go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly conquer it!”

31ಆದರೆ ಅವನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದವರು, <<ಆ ಜನರು ನಮಗಿಂತ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರು; ಅವರನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸಲು ನಮಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿಸಾಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.But the men who had gone up with him replied, “We cannot go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are!”

32ಅದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇವರು ತಾವು ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿದ ದೇಶದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಅಶುಭ ಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವವರಾಗಿ, <<ನಾವು ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿದ ದೇಶವು ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವವರನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾವು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಬಹಳ ಎತ್ತರವಾದವರು.So they gave the Israelites a bad report about the land that they had spied out: “The land we explored devours its inhabitants, and all the people we saw there are great in stature.

33ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಫೀಲಿಯರನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ನೆಫೀಲಿಯ ವಂಶದವರಾದ ಉನ್ನತ ಪುರುಷರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದೆವು. ನಾವು ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಮಿಡತೆಗಳಂತೆ ಇದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡೆವು. ಅವರಿಗೂ ನಾವು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕಾಣಿಸಿದೆವು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.We even saw the Nephilim there—the descendants of Anak that come from the Nephilim! We seemed like grasshoppers in our own sight, and we must have seemed the same to them!”
