1 ULB ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆರಿಕೋ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹತ್ತಿರವಿರುವ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, BSB BSB: Again the LORD spoke to Moses on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho:
2 ULB <<ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ತಾವು ಹೊಂದುವ ಸ್ವತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಸುತ್ತಲಿನ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನೂ ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ವಾಸಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸು. BSB BSB: “Command the Israelites to give, from the inheritance they will possess, cities for the Levites to live in and pasturelands around the cities.
3 ULB ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಲೇವಿಯರ ವಾಸ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗುವುದು. ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಭೂಮಿಗಳು ಅವರ ದನಕುರಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಪಶುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವವು. BSB BSB: The cities will be for them to live in, and the pasturelands will be for their herds, their flocks, and all their other livestock.
4 ULB ನೀವು ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಸುತ್ತಲಿನ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಗೋಡೆಯಿಂದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಾವಿರ ಮೊಳದಷ್ಟು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: The pasturelands around the cities you are to give the Levites will extend a thousand cubits from the wall on every side.
5 ULB ನೀವು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹೊರಗಡೆ ಪೂರ್ವ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಮೊಳ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಮೊಳ, ಪಶ್ಚಿಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಮೊಳ, ಉತ್ತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಮೊಳ, ಅಳೆಯಬೇಕು. ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿರಬೇಕು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಉಪನಗರಗಳು ಇರಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: You are also to measure two thousand cubits outside the city on the east, two thousand on the south, two thousand on the west, and two thousand on the north, with the city in the center. These areas will serve as larger pasturelands for the cities.
6 ULB ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಹತ್ಯೆಮಾಡಿದವರು ಆಶ್ರಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನೀವು ನೇಮಿಸುವ ಆರು ಆಶ್ರಯನಗರಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಬೇರೆ ನಲ್ವತ್ತೆರಡು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅಂತು ನಲ್ವತ್ತೆಂಟು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: Six of the cities you give the Levites are to be appointed as cities of refuge, to which a manslayer may flee. In addition to these, give the Levites forty-two other cities.
7 ULB ನೀವು ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಹುಲ್ಲುಗಾವಲುಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ನಲ್ವತ್ತೆಂಟಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: The total number of cities you give the Levites will be forty-eight, with their corresponding pasturelands.
8 ULB ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸ್ವತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯಾ ಕುಲದ ಸ್ವತ್ತಿನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದ ಜನರುಳ್ಳವರಿಂದ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿಯೂ, ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾದ ಜನರಿಂದ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಊರುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡಿಸಬೇಕು.>> BSB BSB: The cities that you apportion from the territory of the Israelites should be given to the Levites in proportion to the inheritance of each tribe: more from a larger tribe and less from a smaller one.”
9 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses,
10 ULB <<ನೀನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಬೇಕು, <ನೀವು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಕಾನಾನ್ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿದ ನಂತರ, BSB BSB: “Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
11 ULB ಆಶ್ರಯ ಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಬೇಕು. ಕೈತಪ್ಪಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದವನು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತನಾಗಿರಬಹುದು. BSB BSB: designate cities to serve as your cities of refuge, so that a person who kills someone unintentionally may flee there.
12 ULB ಅವನು ಸಭೆಯವರಿಂದ ತೀರ್ಪು ಹೊಂದುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ಹತವಾದವನ ಸಮೀಪಬಂಧುವಿನಿಂದ ಸಾಯದಂತೆ ಆ ಆಶ್ರಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಇರಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: You are to have these cities as a refuge from the avenger, so that the manslayer will not die until he stands trial before the assembly.
13 ULB ಹೀಗೆ ಆರು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: The cities you select will be your six cities of refuge.
14 ULB ನೀವು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾನಾನ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅವು ಆಶ್ರಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಾಗಿ ಇರಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: Select three cities across the Jordan and three in the land of Canaan as cities of refuge.
15 ULB ಕೈತಪ್ಪಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನಾಗಲಿ, ಪರದೇಶದವನಾಗಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಲಿ ಆ ಆರು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಒಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಆಶ್ರಯಹೊಂದಬಹುದು. BSB BSB: These six cities will serve as a refuge for the Israelites and for the foreigner or stranger among them, so that anyone who kills a person unintentionally may flee there.
16 ULB << <ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಆಯುಧದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನರಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿದವನೆಂದು ನೀವು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅಂಥವನಿಗೆ ಮರಣಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If, however, anyone strikes a person with an iron object and kills him, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
17 ULB ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನರಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿದವನೇ. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮರಣಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: Or if anyone has in his hand a stone of deadly size, and he strikes and kills another, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
18 ULB ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮರದ ಆಯುಧವನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನರಹತ್ಯೆಮಾಡಿದವನೇ. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮರಣಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: If anyone has in his hand a deadly object of wood, and he strikes and kills another, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
19 ULB ನರಹತ್ಯೆಮಾಡಿದವನು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕಾದವನು ಯಾರೆಂದರೆ ಹತವಾದವನ ಸಮೀಪಬಂಧುವೇ. BSB BSB: The avenger of blood is to put the murderer to death; when he finds him, he is to kill him.
20 ULB ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಿ ನೂಕುವುದರಿಂದಾಗಲಿ, ಸಮಯ ನೋಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಎಸೆಯುವುದರಿಂದಾಗಲಿ, BSB BSB: Likewise, if anyone maliciously pushes another or intentionally throws an object at him and kills him,
21 ULB ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ದ್ವೇಷದಿಂದ ಕೈಯಾರೆ ಹೊಡೆಯುವುದರಿಂದಾಗಲಿ ಕೊಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನರಹತ್ಯೆಮಾಡಿದವನೇ. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮರಣಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು. ಹತವಾದವನ ಸಮೀಪಬಂಧುವು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡರೂ ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: or if in hostility he strikes him with his hand and he dies, the one who struck him must surely be put to death; he is a murderer. When the avenger of blood finds the murderer, he is to kill him.
22 ULB << <ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಯಾವ ದ್ವೇಷವೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ತಾಗಿ ನೂಕುವುದರಿಂದಾಗಲಿ, ಹಾನಿಮಾಡುವ ಸಮಯವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಎಸೆಯುವುದರಿಂದಾಗಲಿ, BSB BSB: But if anyone pushes a person suddenly, without hostility, or throws an object at him unintentionally,
23 ULB ಕೊಲ್ಲುವಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಬೀಳಿಸುವುದರಿಂದಾಗಲಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ಸತ್ತರೆ ಅವನು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ವೈರಿಯಾಗಿರದೆಯೂ ಹಾನಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆಯೂ ಇದ್ದ ಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ, BSB BSB: or without looking drops a heavy stone that kills him, but he was not an enemy and did not intend to harm him,
24 ULB ಸಭೆಯವರು ಹತ್ಯೆಮಾಡಿದವನಿಗೂ, ಹತವಾದವನ ಸಮೀಪಬಂಧುವಿಗೂ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: then the congregation must judge between the slayer and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances.
25 ULB ಸಭೆಯು ಹತ್ಯಮಾಡಿದವನನ್ನು ಆ ಸಮೀಪ ಬಂಧುವಿನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಅವನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಆಶ್ರಯನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಸೇರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಪಟ್ಟಾಭಿಷೇಕ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನು ಜೀವದಿಂದಿರುವ ತನಕ ಅವನು ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲೇ ವಾಸಿಸಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: The assembly is to protect the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood. Then the assembly will return him to the city of refuge to which he fled, and he must live there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.
26 ULB << <ಆ ಹತ್ಯೆಮಾಡಿದವನು ಯಾವಾಗಲಾದರೂ ತಾನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿದ್ದು ಆಶ್ರಯಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮೇರೆಯ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರುವಾಗ, BSB BSB: But if the manslayer ever goes outside the limits of the city of refuge to which he fled
27 ULB ಹತವಾದವನ ಸಮೀಪಬಂಧುವು ಅವನನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಕಂಡು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: and the avenger of blood finds him outside of his city of refuge and kills him, then the avenger will not be guilty of bloodshed,
28 ULB ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನು ಜೀವದಿಂದಿರುವ ತನಕ ಅವನು ಆಶ್ರಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗೆ ಇರಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನು ತೀರಿಹೋದ ನಂತರ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬಹುದು. BSB BSB: because the manslayer must remain in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. Only after the death of the high priest may he return to the land he owns.
29 ULB << <ನೀವೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂತತಿಯವರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಾಸಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: This will be a statutory ordinance for you for the generations to come, wherever you live.
30 ULB ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದಾಗ ನೀವು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮರಣಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಬಾರದು. BSB BSB: If anyone kills a person, the murderer is to be put to death on the testimony of the witnesses. But no one is to be put to death based on the testimony of a lone witness.
32 ULB ನೀವು ಆಶ್ರಯಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದವನಿಂದ ಧನವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನು ಜೀವದಿಂದಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಗೊಡಿಸಬಾರದು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮರಣಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯೇ ಆಗಬೇಕು. BSB BSB: Nor should you accept a ransom for the person who flees to a city of refuge and allow him to return and live on his own land before the death of the high priest.
33 ULB << <ನೀವು ಹೀಗೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇಶವು ಅಪವಿತ್ರವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ರಕ್ತವು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅಪವಿತ್ರ ಮಾಡುವುದು. ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನ ರಕ್ತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೊಂದವನ ರಕ್ತದಿಂದಲೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತವಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: Do not pollute the land where you live, for bloodshed pollutes the land, and no atonement can be made for the land on which the blood is shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it.
34 ULB ನೀವು ವಾಸಿಸುವ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅಪವಿತ್ರಮಾಡಬಾರದು. ಯೆಹೋವನೆಂಬ ನಾನೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.>>> BSB BSB: Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell. For I, the LORD, dwell among the Israelites.”
