5 ULB ವಕ್ರಬುದ್ಧಿಯುಳ್ಳವನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಳೂ, ಉರುಲುಗಳೂ ತುಂಬಿವೆ, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿರುವನು. BSB BSB: Thorns and snares lie on the path of the perverse; he who guards his soul stays far from them.
6 ULB ನಡೆಯಬೇಕಾದ ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸು, ಮುಪ್ಪಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಓರೆಯಾಗರು. BSB BSB: Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
7 ULB ಬಲ್ಲಿದನು ಬಡವನಿಗೆ ಒಡೆಯ, ಸಾಲಗಾರನು ಸಾಲಕೊಟ್ಟವನಿಗೆ ಸೇವಕ. BSB BSB: The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.
8 ULB ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ಬಿತ್ತುವವನು ಕೇಡನ್ನೇ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವನು, ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದ ದಂಡವು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದುಹೋಗುವುದು. BSB BSB: He who sows injustice will reap disaster, and the rod of his fury will be destroyed.
9 ULB ದಯಾದೃಷ್ಟಿಯವನು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವನು, ತನ್ನ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲವೆ. BSB BSB: A generous man will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.
10 ULB ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕನನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಜಗಳವು ತೊಲಗುವುದು, ಹೌದು, ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವು ತೀರಿ ಅವಮಾನವು ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗುವುದು. BSB BSB: Drive out the mocker, and conflict will depart; even quarreling and insults will cease.
11 ULB ಹೃದಯಶುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸವಿಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ರಾಜನ ಸ್ನೇಹವು ದೊರೆಯುವುದು. BSB BSB: He who loves a pure heart and gracious lips will have the king for a friend.

13 ULB <<ಹೊರಗೆ ಸಿಂಹವಿದೆ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂದ್ದಿತು>> ಎಂಬುದು ಸೋಮಾರಿಯ ನೆವ. BSB BSB: The slacker says, “There is a lion outside! I will be slain in the streets!”
14 ULB ಜಾರಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಬಾಯಿ ಆಳವಾದ ಹಳ್ಳ, ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಸಿಟ್ಟನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಿದವನು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುವನು. BSB BSB: The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit; he who is under the wrath of the LORD will fall into it.
15 ULB ಮೂರ್ಖತನವು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಹಜ, ಆದರೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕನ ಬೆತ್ತವು ಅದನ್ನು ತೊಲಗಿಸುವುದು. BSB BSB: Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.

18 ULB ನೀನು ಆ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಪಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ತುಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ರಮ್ಯ. BSB BSB: for it is pleasing when you keep them within you and they are constantly on your lips.
19 ULB ನೀನು ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಡಬೇಕೆಂದು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ದಿನ ನಿನಗೇ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. BSB BSB: So that your trust may be in the LORD, I instruct you today—yes, you.
20 ULB ಸತ್ಯವಚನಗಳು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಯಥಾರ್ಥವೆಂದು ನೀನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಚನಗಳನ್ನೇ ಅರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ, BSB BSB: Have I not written for you thirty sayings about counsel and knowledge,
21 ULB ಸತ್ಯ, ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲೇ ನಿನಗಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವೆನಲ್ಲಾ. BSB BSB: to show you true and reliable words, that you may soundly answer those who sent you?
22 ULB ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೂರೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ, ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ದರಿದ್ರರನ್ನು ತುಳಿಯಬೇಡ. BSB BSB: Do not rob a poor man because he is poor, and do not crush the afflicted at the gate,
23 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ಅವರ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ, ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿದವರ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವನು. BSB BSB: for the LORD will take up their case and will plunder those who rob them.
24 ULB ಕೋಪಿಷ್ಠನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸ್ನೇಹ ಬೆಳಸಬೇಡ, ಸಿಟ್ಟುಗಾರನ ಸಹವಾಸ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ. BSB BSB: Do not make friends with an angry man, and do not associate with a hot-tempered man,
25 ULB ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅವನ ದುರ್ನಡತೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಉರುಲಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿ ನೋಡಿಕೋ. BSB BSB: or you may learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.
26 ULB ಮಾತುಕೊಟ್ಟು ಸಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಣೆಯಾಗುವವರಲ್ಲಿ, ನೀನೂ ಒಬ್ಬನಾಗಬೇಡ, BSB BSB: Do not be one who gives pledges, who puts up security for debts.
27 ULB ಆ ಸಾಲವನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನಿಂದಾಗದಿರಲು, ಸಾಲಕೊಟ್ಟವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೆಳಗಿನ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಹಾಕುವುದು ಬೇಕೇ? BSB BSB: If you have nothing with which to pay, why should your bed be taken from under you?
28 ULB ನಿನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ಹಾಕಿದ ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದ ಮೇರೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಬೇಡ. BSB BSB: Do not move an ancient boundary stone which your fathers have placed.
29 ULB ತನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಾತುರ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವನನ್ನು ನೋಡು, ಇಂಥವನು ರಾಜನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವನೇ ಹೊರತು, ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜನರ ಮುಂದೆ ಅಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will be stationed in the presence of kings; he will not stand before obscure men.
