Proverbs 28 (ULB)

1ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟದಿದ್ದರೂ ದುಷ್ಟನು ಹೆದರಿ ಓಡುವನು, ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಸಿಂಹದಂತೆ ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದಿರುವನು.The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

2ಅಧರ್ಮದಿಂದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹು ನಾಯಕರಿರುವರು, ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳೂ, ವಿವೇಕಿಗಳೂ ಆದವರಿಂದ ಧರ್ಮವು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿರುವುದು.A land in rebellion has many rulers, but a man of understanding and knowledge maintains order.

3ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವ ದರಿದ್ರನು, ಒಂದು ಕಾಳೂ ಉಳಿಯದಂತೆ ಪೈರನ್ನು ಬಡಿಯುವ ಮಳೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ.A destitute leader who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no food.

4ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳದವರು ದುಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳುವರು, ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುವರು.Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law resist them.

5ಕೆಟ್ಟವರು ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸರು, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಕ್ತರು ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವರು.Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD comprehend fully.

6ವಕ್ರಮಾರ್ಗಿಯಾದ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಿಗಿಂತ, ನಿರ್ದೋಷವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ದರಿದ್ರನು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನು.Better a poor man who walks with integrity than a rich man whose ways are perverse.

7ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ವಿವೇಕಿಯಾದ ಮಗನು, ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಬಾಕರ ಗೆಳೆಯನು ತಂದೆಯ ಮಾನವನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯುವನು.A discerning son keeps the law, but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father.

8ಬಡ್ಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಲಾಭದಿಂದ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದ ಆಸ್ತಿಯು ಬಡವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಕರಪಡುವವನ ಪಾಲಾಗುವುದು.He who increases his wealth by interest and usury lays it up for one who is kind to the poor.

9ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದವನು ಮಾಡುವ ದೇವಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೂ ಅಸಹ್ಯ.Whoever turns his ear away from hearing the law, even his prayer is detestable.

10ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತರನ್ನು ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಎಳೆಯುವವನು, ತಾನು ತೋಡಿದ ಗುಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನೇ ಬೀಳುವನು, ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಗಳಿಗೋ ಸುಖವು ಸೊತ್ತಾಗುವುದು.He who leads the upright along the path of evil will fall into his own pit, but the blameless will inherit what is good.

11ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ತಾನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯೆಂದೆಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು, ವಿವೇಕಿಯಾದ ಬಡವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಇಂಥವನೆಂದು ಗೊತ್ತುಮಾಡುವನು.A rich man is wise in his own eyes, but a poor man with discernment sees through him.

12ಶಿಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸವಾದರೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಭ್ರಮವಾಗುವುದು, ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಏಳಿಗೆಯಾದರೆ ಜನರು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.

13ದೋಷಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಿಗೆ ಶುಭವಾಗದು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವವನಿಗೆ ಕರುಣೆ ದೊರೆಯುವುದು.He who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy.

14ಕೆಟ್ಟದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಭಯಪಡುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು, ಕಠಿಣಹೃದಯನು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬೀಳುವನು.Blessed is the man who is always reverent, but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble.

15ಬಡವರಾದ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಳುವ ದುಷ್ಟರಾಜನು, ಗರ್ಜಿಸುವ ಸಿಂಹ ಮತ್ತು ಹುಡುಕಾಡುವ ಕರಡಿಯಂತೆ.Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.

16ವಿವೇಕಶೂನ್ಯನಾದ ಒಡೆಯನು ಮಹಾ ಹಿಂಸಕನು, ದೋಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳದವನು ದೀರ್ಘಾಯುಷ್ಯನು.A leader who lacks judgment is also a great oppressor, but he who hates dishonest profit will prolong his days.

17ನರಪ್ರಾಣ ತೆಗೆದ ದೋಷವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡವನು ಸಮಾಧಿಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಓಡುವನು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ತಡೆಯಬಾರದು.A man burdened by bloodguilt will flee into the Pit; let no one support him.

18ಸನ್ಮಾರ್ಗಿಗೆ ಉದ್ಧಾರ, ವಕ್ರಮಾರ್ಗಿಗೆ ತಟ್ಟನೆ ಸೋಲು.He who walks with integrity will be kept safe, but whoever is perverse in his ways will suddenly fall.

19ದುಡಿದು ಹೊಲಗೇಯುವವನಿಗೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಅನ್ನ, ವ್ಯರ್ಥ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಸಕ್ತನಿಗೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆತುಂಬಾ ಬಡತನ.The one who works his land will have plenty of food, but whoever chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.

20ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಪೂರ್ಣನಾಗುವನು, ಧನವಂತನಾಗಲು ಆತುರಪಡುವವನು ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದದೆ ಇರನು.A faithful man will abound with blessings, but one eager to be rich will not go unpunished.

21ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತವು ಅಧರ್ಮ, ತುತ್ತು ಅನ್ನಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೂ ಜನರು ದ್ರೋಹಮಾಡುವುದುಂಟು.To show partiality is not good, yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.

22ಲೋಭಿಯು ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಲು ಆತುರಪಡುವನು, ತನಗೆ ಕೊರತೆಯಾಗುವುದೆಂದು ಅರಿಯನು.A stingy man hastens after wealth and does not know that poverty awaits him.

23ಮುಖಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡುವವನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ, ಗದರಿಸುವವನು ಬಳಿಕ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ದಯಾಪಾತ್ರನಾಗುವನು.He who rebukes a man will later find more favor than one who flatters with his tongue.

24ದೋಷವಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ತಾಯಿತಂದೆಗಳ ಧನವನ್ನು ಕದಿಯುವವನು, ಕೆಡುಕನಿಗೆ ಜೊತೆಗಾರನು.He who robs his father or mother, saying, “It is not wrong,” is a companion to the man who destroys.

25ದುರಾಶೆಯುಳ್ಳವನು ಜಗಳವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸುವನು, ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವವನು ಪುಷ್ಟನಾಗುವನು.A greedy man stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the LORD will prosper.

26ತನ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವವನು ಮೂಢನು, ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ಉದ್ಧಾರ ಹೊಂದುವನು.He who trusts in himself is a fool, but one who walks in wisdom will be safe.

27ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ದಾನಮಾಡುವವನು ಕೊರತೆಪಡನು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಕಾಣದಂತೆ ಇರುವವನು ಬಹುಶಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುವನು.Whoever gives to the poor will not be in need, but he who hides his eyes will receive many curses.

28ದುಷ್ಟರು ಎದ್ದರೆ ಜನರು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು, ನಾಶನವಾದರೆ ಶಿಷ್ಟರು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವರು.When the wicked come to power, people hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous flourish.
