Clementine VulgateBerean Standard Bible

1. 1VULRecordatus autem Deus Noë, cunctorumque animantium, et omnium jumentorum, quæ erant cum eo in arca, adduxit spiritum super terram, et imminutæ sunt aquæ.BSBBSB: But God remembered Noah and all the animals and livestock that were with him in the ark. And God sent a wind over the earth, and the waters began to subside.
2. 2VULEt clausi sunt fontes abyssi, et cataractæ cæli: et prohibitæ sunt pluviæ de cælo.BSBBSB: The springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens were closed, and the rain from the sky was restrained.
3. 3VULReversæque sunt aquæ de terra euntes et redeuntes: et cœperunt minui post centum quinquaginta dies.BSBBSB: The waters receded steadily from the earth, and after 150 days the waters had gone down.
4. 4VULRequievitque arca mense septimo, vigesimo septimo die mensis, super montes Armeniæ.BSBBSB: On the seventeenth day of the seventh month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.
5. 5VULAt vero aquæ ibant et decrescebant usque ad decimum mensem: decimo enim mense, primo die mensis, apparuerunt cacumina montium.BSBBSB: And the waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.
6. 6VULCumque transissent quadraginta dies, aperiens Noë fenestram arcæ, quam fecerat, dimisit corvum,BSBBSB: After forty days Noah opened the window he had made in the ark
7. 7VULqui egrediebatur, et non revertebatur, donec siccarentur aquæ super terram.BSBBSB: and sent out a raven. It kept flying back and forth until the waters had dried up from the earth.
8. 8VULEmisit quoque columbam post eum, ut videret si jam cessassent aquæ super faciem terræ.BSBBSB: Then Noah sent out a dove to see if the waters had receded from the surface of the ground.
9. 9VULQuæ cum non invenisset ubi requiesceret pes ejus, reversa est ad eum in arcam: aquæ enim erant super universam terram: extenditque manum, et apprehensam intulit in arcam.BSBBSB: But the dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned to him in the ark, because the waters were still covering the surface of all the earth. So he reached out his hand and brought her back inside the ark.
10. 10VULExpectatis autem ultra septem diebus aliis, rursum dimisit columbam ex arca.BSBBSB: Noah waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark.
11. 11VULAt illa venit ad eum ad vesperam, portans ramum olivæ virentibus foliis in ore suo: intellexit ergo Noë quod cessassent aquæ super terram.BSBBSB: And behold, the dove returned to him in the evening with a freshly plucked olive leaf in her beak. So Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.
12. 12VULExpectavitque nihilominus septem alios dies: et emisit columbam, quæ non est reversa ultra ad eum.BSBBSB: And Noah waited seven more days and sent out the dove again, but this time she did not return to him.
13. 13VULIgitur sexcentesimo primo anno, primo mense, prima die mensis, imminutæ sunt aquæ super terram: et aperiens Noë tectum arcæ, aspexit, viditque quod exsiccata esset superficies terræ.BSBBSB: In Noah’s six hundred and first year, on the first day of the first month, the waters had dried up from the earth. So Noah removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry.
14. 14VULMense secundo, septimo et vigesimo die mensis arefacta est terra.BSBBSB: By the twenty-seventh day of the second month, the earth was fully dry.
15. 15VULLocutus est autem Deus ad Noë, dicens:BSBBSB: Then God said to Noah,
16. 16VULEgredere de arca, tu et uxor tua, filii tui et uxores filiorum tuorum tecum.BSBBSB: “Come out of the ark, you and your wife, along with your sons and their wives.
17. 17VULCuncta animantia, quæ sunt apud te, ex omni carne, tam in volatilibus quam in bestiis et universis reptilibus, quæ reptant super terram, educ tecum, et ingredimini super terram: crescite et multiplicamini super eam.BSBBSB: Bring out all the living creatures that are with you—birds, livestock, and everything that crawls upon the ground—so that they can spread out over the earth and be fruitful and multiply upon it.”
18. 18VULEgressus est ergo Noë, et filii ejus: uxor illius, et uxores filiorum ejus cum eo.BSBBSB: So Noah came out, along with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives.
19. 19VULSed et omnia animantia, jumenta, et reptilia quæ reptant super terram, secundum genus suum, egressa sunt de arca.BSBBSB: Every living creature, every creeping thing, and every bird—everything that moves upon the earth—came out of the ark, kind by kind.
20. 20VULÆdificavit autem Noë altare Domino: et tollens de cunctis pecoribus et volucribus mundis, obtulit holocausta super altare.BSBBSB: Then Noah built an altar to the LORD. And taking from every kind of clean animal and clean bird, he offered burnt offerings on the altar.
When the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, He said in His heart, “Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from his youth. And never again will I destroy all living creatures as I have done.
22. 22VULCunctis diebus terræ, sementis et messis, frigus et æstus, æstas et hiems, nox et dies non requiescent.BSBBSB: As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall never cease.”
