1. 1LITSkelbiame apie Gyvybės Žodį, kuris buvo nuo pradžios, kurį esame girdėję, kurį esame matę savo akimis, kurį stebėjome ir kurį palietė mūsų rankos.BSBBSB: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have gazed upon and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life.
2. 2LIT(Ta Gyvybė gi apsireiškė ir mes esame matę ir liudijame ir skelbiame jums tą Amžinąją Gyvybę, kuri buvo pas Tėvą ir apsireiškė mums.)BSBBSB: And this is the life that was revealed; we have seen it and testified to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.
3. 3LITTai, ką esame matę ir girdėję, skelbiame jums, kad ir jūs turėtumėte bendrystę su mumis, o ta bendrystė – būtent mums priklausanti – yra su Tėvu ir su jo Sūnumi Jėzumi Kristumi.BSBBSB: We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
4. 4LITIr šiuos dalykus jums rašome, kad jūsų džiaugsmas būtų pilnatviškas.BSBBSB: We write these things so that our joy may be complete.
5. 5LITTad ši yra žinia, kurią iš jo esame girdėję ir jums skelbiame, kad Dievas yra šviesa, ir jame nėra jokios tamsos.BSBBSB: And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6. 6LITJei sakome, kad turime bendrystę su juo, bet vaikščiojame tamsoje, meluojame ir nevykdome tiesos;BSBBSB: If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7. 7LITbet jeigu vaikščiojame šviesoje, kaip jis yra šviesoje, turime bendrystę vieni su kitais, ir jo Sūnaus Jėzaus Kristaus kraujas apvalo mus nuo kiekvienos nuodėmės.BSBBSB: But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8. 8LITJei sakome, kad neturime nuodėmės, klaidiname save, ir tiesos mumyse nėra.BSBBSB: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
