1. 1LSGQuand Israël était jeune, je l’aimais, Et j’appelai mon fils hors d’Égypte.BSBBSB: When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My son.
2. 2LSGMais ils se sont éloignés de ceux qui les appelaient; Ils ont sacrifié aux Baals, Et offert de l’encens aux idoles.BSBBSB: But the more I called Israel, the farther they departed from Me. They sacrificed to the Baals and burned incense to carved images.
3. 3LSGC’est moi qui guidai les pas d’Éphraïm, Le soutenant par ses bras; Et ils n’ont pas vu que je les guérissais.BSBBSB: It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by the arms, but they never realized that it was I who healed them.
4. 4LSGJe les tirai avec des liens d’humanité, avec des cordages d’amour, Je fus pour eux comme celui qui aurait relâché le joug près de leur bouche, Et je leur présentai de la nourriture.BSBBSB: I led them with cords of kindness, with ropes of love; I lifted the yoke from their necks and bent down to feed them.

8. 8LSGQue ferai-je de toi, Éphraïm? Dois-je te livrer, Israël? Te traiterai-je comme Adma? Te rendrai-je semblable à Tseboïm? Mon cœur s’agite au-dedans de moi, Toutes mes compassions sont émues.BSBBSB: How could I give you up, O Ephraim? How could I surrender you, O Israel? How could I make you like Admah? How could I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned within Me; My compassion is stirred!
9. 9LSGJe n’agirai pas selon mon ardente colère, Je renonce à détruire Éphraïm; Car je suis Dieu, et non pas un homme, Je suis le Saint au milieu de toi; Je ne viendrai pas avec colère.BSBBSB: I will not execute the full fury of My anger; I will not destroy Ephraim again. For I am God and not man—the Holy One among you—and I will not come in wrath.
10. 10LSGIls suivront l’Éternel, qui rugira comme un lion, Car il rugira, et les enfants accourront de la mer.BSBBSB: They will walk after the LORD; He will roar like a lion. When He roars, His children will come trembling from the west.
11. 11LSGIls accourront de l’Égypte, comme un oiseau, Et du pays d’Assyrie, comme une colombe. Et je les ferai habiter dans leurs maisons, dit l’Éternel.BSBBSB: They will come trembling like birds from Egypt and like doves from the land of Assyria. Then I will settle them in their homes, declares the LORD.
12. 12LSGÉphraïm m’entoure de mensonge, Et la maison d’Israël de tromperie; Juda est encore sans frein vis-à-vis de Dieu, Vis-à-vis du Saint fidèle.BSBBSB: Ephraim surrounds Me with lies, the house of Israel with deceit; but Judah still walks with God and is faithful to the Holy One.
