1പെന്തെക്കൊസ്തനാൾ വന്നപ്പോൾ എല്ലാവരും ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.

2പെട്ടെന്നു കൊടിയ കാറ്റടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ആകാശത്തനിന്നു ഒരു മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടായി, അവർ ഇരുന്നിരുന്ന വീടു മുഴുവനും നിറെച്ചു.Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

3അഗ്നിജ്വാലപോലെ പിളർന്നിരിക്കുന്ന നാവുകൾ അവർക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി അവരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തന്റെ മേൽ പതിഞ്ഞു.They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

4എല്ലാവരും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ആത്മാവു അവർക്കു ഉച്ചരിപ്പാൻ നല്കിയതുപോലെ അന്യഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

5അന്നു ആകാശത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ള സകല ജാതികളിൽ നിന്നും യെരൂശലേമിൽ വന്നു പാർക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാരായ ഭക്തിയുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.

6ഈ മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോൾ പുരുഷാരം വന്നു കൂടി, ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ഭാഷയിൽ അവർ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടു അമ്പരന്നു പോയി.And when this sound rang out, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking his own language.

7എല്ലാവരും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു: ഈ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവർ എല്ലാം ഗലീലക്കാർ അല്ലയോ?Astounded and amazed, they asked, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?

8പിന്നെ നാം ഓരോരുത്തൻ ജനിച്ച നമ്മുടെ സ്വന്ത ഭാഷയിൽ അവർ സംസാരിച്ചു കേൾക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?How is it then that each of us hears them in his own native language?

9പർത്ഥരും മേദ്യരും ഏലാമ്യരും മെസപ്പൊത്താമ്യയിലും യെഹൂദ്യയിലും കപ്പദോക്യയിലുംParthians, Medes, and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

10പൊന്തൊസിലും ആസ്യയിലും പ്രുഗ്യയിലും പംഫുല്യയിലും മിസ്രയീമിലും കുറേനെക്കു ചേർന്ന ലിബ്യാപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും പാർക്കുന്നവരും റോമയിൽ നിന്നു വന്നു പാർക്കുന്നവരും യെഹൂദന്മാരും യെഹൂദമതാനുസാരികളും ക്രേത്യരും അറബിക്കാരുമായ നാംPhrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome,

11ഈ നമ്മുടെ ഭാഷകളിൽ അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വൻകാര്യങ്ങളെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതു കേൾക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.both Jews and converts to Judaism; Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”

12എല്ലാവരും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ചഞ്ചലിച്ചു; ഇതു എന്തായിരിക്കും എന്നു തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.Astounded and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”

13ഇവർ പുതു വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു മറ്റു ചിലർ പരിഹസിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.But others mocked them and said, “They are drunk on new wine!”

16ഇതു യോവേൽ പ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതത്രേ; അതെന്തെന്നാൽ:No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17“അന്ത്യകാലത്തു ഞാൻ സകല ജഡത്തിന്മേലും എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും പ്രവചിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ യൗവ്വനക്കാർ ദർശനങ്ങൾ ദർശിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ വൃദ്ധന്മാർ സ്വപ്നങ്ങൾ കാണും.‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

18എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെമേലും ദാസിമാരുടെമേലും കൂടെ ഞാൻ ആ നാളുകളിൽ എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും; അവരും പ്രവചിക്കും.Even on My menservants and maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

19ഞാൻ മീതെ ആകാശത്തിൽ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും താഴെ ഭൂമിയിൽ അടയാളങ്ങളും കാണിക്കും; രക്തവും തീയും പുകയാവിയും തന്നേ.I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.

20കർത്താവിന്റെ വലുതും പ്രസിദ്ധവുമായ നാൾ വരുംമുമ്പേ സൂര്യൻ ഇരുളായും ചന്ദ്രൻ രക്തമായും മാറിപ്പോകും.The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and glorious Day of the Lord.

21എന്നാൽ കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവൻ ഏവനും രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.”And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

22യിസ്രായേൽ പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഈ വചനം കേട്ടു കൊൾവിൻ. നിങ്ങൾ തന്നേ അറിയുംപോലെ ദൈവം അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ നടുവിൽ ചെയ്യിച്ച ശക്തികളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും അടയാളങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടുMen of Israel, listen to this message: Jesus of Nazareth was a man certified by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did among you through Him, as you yourselves know.

23ദൈവം നിങ്ങൾക്കു കാണിച്ചു തന്ന പുരുഷനായി നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെ ദൈവം തന്റെ സ്ഥിര നിർണ്ണയത്താലും മുന്നറിവിനാലും ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു, നിങ്ങൾ അവനെ അധർമ്മികളുടെ കയ്യാൽ തറെപ്പിച്ചു കൊന്നു;He was delivered up by God’s set plan and foreknowledge, and you, by the hands of the lawless, put Him to death by nailing Him to the cross.

24ദൈവമോ മരണപാശങ്ങളെ അഴിച്ചിട്ടു അവനെ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു. മരണം അവനെ പിടിച്ചു വെക്കുന്നതു അസാദ്ധ്യമായിരുന്നു.But God raised Him from the dead, releasing Him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep Him in its grip.

25“ഞാൻ കർത്താവിനെ എപ്പോഴും എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ എന്റെ വലഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്കയാൽ ഞാൻ കുലുങ്ങിപോകയില്ല.David says about Him: ‘I saw the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

26അതുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ ഹൃദയം സന്തോഷിച്ചു, എന്റെ നാവു ആനന്ദിച്ചു, എന്റെ ജഡവും പ്രത്യാശയോടെ വസിക്കും.Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell in hope,

27നീ എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ പാതാളത്തിൽ വിടുകയില്ല; നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ ദ്രവത്വം കാണ്മാൻ സമ്മതിക്കയുമില്ല.because You will not abandon my soul to Hades, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay.

28നീ ജീവമാർഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ എന്നോടു അറിയിച്ചു; നിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ എന്നെ സന്തോഷ പൂർണ്ണനാക്കും” എന്നു ദാവീദ് അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.You have made known to me the paths of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence.’

29സഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഗോത്രപിതാവായ ദാവീദിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അവൻ മരിച്ചു അടക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു എനിക്കു നിങ്ങളോടു ധൈര്യമായി പറയാം; അവന്റെ കല്ലറ ഇന്നുവരെ നമ്മുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.Brothers, I can tell you with confidence that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

32അതിന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും സാക്ഷികൾ ആകുന്നു.God has raised this Jesus to life, to which we are all witnesses.

33അവൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വല ഭാഗത്തേക്കു ആരോഹണം ചെയ്തു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു എന്ന വാഗ്ദത്തം പിതാവിനോടു വാങ്ങി, നിങ്ങൾ ഈ കാണുകയും കേൾക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത് പകർന്നുതന്നു.Exalted, then, to the right hand of God, He has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.

36ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ക്രൂശിച്ച ഈ യേശുവിനെ തന്നേ ദൈവം കർത്താവും ക്രിസ്തുവുമാക്കിവെച്ചു എന്നു യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹം ഒക്കെയും നിശ്ചയമായി അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളട്ടെ.Therefore let all Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ!”

37ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവർ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ കുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പത്രൊസിനോടും ശേഷം അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരോടും: സഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and asked Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

39വാഗ്ദത്തം നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കൾക്കും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവു വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തുന്ന ദൂരസ്ഥന്മാരായ ഏവർക്കും ഉള്ളതല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.This promise belongs to you and your children and to all who are far off—to all whom the Lord our God will call to Himself.”

40മറ്റു പല വാക്കുകളാലും അവൻ സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു അവരെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു; ഈ വക്രതയുള്ള തലമുറയിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.With many other words he testified, and he urged them, “Be saved from this corrupt generation.”

41അവന്റെ വാക്കു കൈക്കൊണ്ടവർ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു; അന്നു മുവായിരത്തോളം പേർ അവരോടു ചേർന്നു.Those who embraced his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to the believers that day.

42അവർ അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ ഉപദേശം കേട്ടും കൂട്ടായ്മ ആചരിച്ചും അപ്പം നുറക്കിയും പ്രാർത്ഥന കഴിച്ചും പോന്നു.They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

43എല്ലാവർക്കും ഭയമായി; അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരാൽ ഏറിയ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും അടയാളങ്ങളും നടന്നു.A sense of awe came over everyone, and the apostles performed many wonders and signs.

44വിശ്വസിച്ചവർ എല്ലാവരും ഒരുമിച്ചിരുന്നു സകലവും പൊതുവക എന്നു എണ്ണുകയുംAll the believers were together and had everything in common.

45ജന്മഭൂമികളും വസ്തുക്കളും വിറ്റു അവനവന്നു ആവശ്യം ഉള്ളതുപോലെ എല്ലാവർക്കും പങ്കിടുകയും,Selling their possessions and goods, they shared with anyone who was in need.

46ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു ദിനംപ്രതി ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ കൂടിവരികയും വീട്ടിൽ അപ്പം നുറുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു ഉല്ലാസവും ഹൃദയപരമാർത്ഥതയും പൂണ്ടു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയുംWith one accord they continued to meet daily in the temple courts and to break bread from house to house, sharing their meals with gladness and sincerity of heart,

47ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കയും സകല ജനത്തിന്റെയും കൃപ അനുഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്തു. കർത്താവു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരെ ദിനംപ്രതി സഭയോടു ചേർത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
