John 13 (MAL10)

1പെസഹപെരുനാളിന്നു മുമ്പെ താൻ ഈ ലോകം വിട്ടു പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുവാനുള്ള നാഴിക വന്നു എന്നു യേശു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു, ലോകത്തിൽ തനിക്കുള്ളവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുപോലെ അവസാനത്തോളം അവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു.It was now just before the Passover Feast, and Jesus knew that His hour had come to leave this world and return to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the very end.

3പിതാവു സകലവും തന്റെ കയ്യിൽ തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും താൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു വന്നു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുന്നു എന്നും യേശു അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കെJesus knew that the Father had delivered all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was returning to God.

4അത്താഴത്തിൽ നിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റു വസ്ത്രം ഊരിവെച്ചു ഒരു തുവർത്തു എടുത്തു അരയിൽ ചുറ്റിSo He got up from the supper, laid aside His outer garments, and wrapped a towel around His waist.

5ഒരു പാത്രത്തിൽ വെള്ളം പകർന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കാൽ കഴുകുവാനും അരയിൽ ചുറ്റിയിരുന്ന തുണികൊണ്ടു തുവർത്തുവാനും തുടങ്ങി.After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and dry them with the towel that was around Him.

6അവൻ ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, നീ എന്റെ കാൽ കഴുകുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.He came to Simon Peter, who asked Him, “Lord, are You going to wash my feet?”

7യേശു അവനോടു: ഞാൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതു നീ ഇപ്പോൾ അറിയുന്നില്ല; പിന്നെ അറിയും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

8നീ ഒരുനാളും എന്റെ കാൽ കഴുകുകയില്ല എന്നു പത്രൊസ് പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു യേശു: ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കഴുകാഞ്ഞാൽ നിനക്കു എന്നോടുകൂടെ പങ്കില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസ്:“Never shall You wash my feet!” Peter told Him. Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me.”

9കർത്താവേ, എന്റെ കാൽ മാത്രമല്ല കയ്യും തലയും കൂടെ കഴുകേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.“Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not only my feet, but my hands and my head as well!”

10യേശു അവനോടു: കുളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവന്നു കാൽ അല്ലാതെ കഴുകുവാൻ ആവശ്യം ഇല്ല; അവൻ മുഴുവനും ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവൻ; നിങ്ങൾ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവർ ആകുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും അല്ലതാനും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.Jesus told him, “Whoever has already bathed needs only to wash his feet, and he will be completely clean. And you are clean, though not all of you.”

11തന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്നവനെ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടത്രേ എല്ലാവരും ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവരല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു.For He knew who would betray Him. That is why He said, “Not all of you are clean.”

12അവൻ അവരുടെ കാൽ കഴുകീട്ടു വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു വീണ്ടും ഇരുന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ചെയ്തതു ഇന്നതു എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവോ?When Jesus had washed their feet and put on His outer garments, He reclined with them again and asked, “Do you know what I have done for you?

13നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ഗുരുവെന്നും കർത്താവെന്നും വിളിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അങ്ങനെ ആകകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നതു ശരി.You call Me Teacher and Lord, and rightly so, because I am.

14കർത്താവും ഗുരുവുമായ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ കാൽ കഴുകി എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളും തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ കാൽ കഴുകേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.

15ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തം തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.I have set you an example so that you should do as I have done for you.

16ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: ദാസൻ യജമാനനെക്കാൾ വലിയവൻ അല്ല; ദൂതൻ തന്നെ അയച്ചവനെക്കാൾ വലിയവനുമല്ല.Truly, truly, I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.

17ഇതു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ചെയ്താൽ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.If you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

18നിങ്ങളെ എല്ലാവരെയും കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്നില്ല; ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തവരെ ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; എന്നാൽ “എന്റെ അപ്പം തിന്നുന്നവൻ എന്റെ നേരെ കുതികാൽ ഉയർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നുള്ള തിരുവെഴുത്തിന്നു നിവൃത്തി വരേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.I am not speaking about all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the Scripture: ‘The one who shares My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.’

20ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: ഞാൻ അയക്കുന്നവനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവൻ എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവൻ എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു.Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever receives the one I send receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives the One who sent Me.”

21ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു യേശു ഉള്ളം കലങ്ങി: ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ എന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും എന്നു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.After Jesus had said this, He became troubled in spirit and testified, “Truly, truly, I tell you, one of you will betray Me.”

22ഇതു ആരെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാർ സംശയിച്ചു തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ നോക്കി.The disciples looked at one another, perplexed as to which of them He meant.

23ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ വെച്ചു യേശു സ്നേഹിച്ച ഒരുത്തൻ യേശുവിന്റെ മാർവ്വിടത്തു ചാരിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.One of His disciples, the one whom Jesus loved, was reclining at His side.

24ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസ് അവനോടു ആംഗ്യം കാട്ടി, അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു ആരെക്കൊണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിപ്പാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.So Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus which one He was talking about.

25അവൻ യേശുവിന്റെ നെഞ്ചോടു ചാഞ്ഞു: കർത്താവേ, അതു ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.Leaning back against Jesus, he asked, “Lord, who is it?”

26ഞാൻ അപ്പഖണ്ഡംമുക്കി കൊടുക്കുന്നവൻ തന്നേ എന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു; ഖണ്ഡം മുക്കി ശിമോൻ ഈസ്കര്യോത്താവിന്റെ മകനായ യൂദെക്കു കൊടുത്തു.Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I give this morsel after I have dipped it.” Then He dipped the morsel and gave it to Judas son of Simon Iscariot.

27ഖണ്ഡം വാങ്ങിയ ഉടനെ സാത്താൻ അവനിൽ കടന്നു; യേശു അവനോടു: നീ ചെയ്യുന്നതു വേഗത്തിൽ ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.And when Judas had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to Judas, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”

28എന്നാൽ ഇതു ഇന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞുവെന്നു പന്തിയിൽ ഇരുന്നവരിൽ ആരും അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.But no one at the table knew why Jesus had said this to him.

29പണസ്സഞ്ചി യൂദയുടെ പക്കൽ ആകയാൽ പെരുനാളിന്നു വേണ്ടുന്നതു മേടിപ്പാനോ ദരിദ്രർക്കു വല്ലതും കൊടുപ്പാനോ യേശു അവനോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചിലർക്കു തോന്നി.Since Judas kept the money bag, some thought that Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the feast, or to give something to the poor.

30ഖണ്ഡം വാങ്ങിയ ഉടനെ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റുപോയി, അപ്പോൾ രാത്രി ആയിരുന്നു.As soon as he had received the morsel, Judas went out into the night.

32ദൈവം അവനിൽ മഹത്വപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ദൈവം അവനെ തന്നിൽ തന്നേ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തും; ക്ഷണത്തിൽ അവനെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തും.If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify the Son in Himself—and will glorify Him at once.

33കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളേ, ഞാൻ ഇനി കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു മാത്രം നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കും; ഞാൻ പോകുന്ന ഇടത്തു നിങ്ങൾക്കു വരുവാൻ കഴികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളോടും പറയുന്നു.Little children, I am with you only a little while longer. You will look for Me, and as I said to the Jews, so now I say to you: ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’

34നിങ്ങൾ തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം എന്നു പുതിയോരു കല്പന ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം എന്നു തന്നേ.A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also must love one another.

35നിങ്ങൾക്കു തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ സ്നേഹം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ എന്നു എല്ലാവരും അറിയും.By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

36ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസ് അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, നീ എവിടെ പോകന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: ഞാൻ പോകുന്ന ഇടത്തേക്കു നിനക്കു ഇപ്പോൾ എന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ല; പിന്നെത്തേതിൽ നീ എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കും എന്നു യേശു അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.“Lord, where are You going?” Simon Peter asked. Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you cannot follow Me now, but you will follow later.”

37പത്രൊസ് അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, ഇപ്പോൾ എനിക്കു നിന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പാൻ കഴിയാത്തതു എന്തു? ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജീവനെ നിനക്കു വേണ്ടി വെച്ചുകളയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.“Lord,” said Peter, “why can’t I follow You now? I will lay down my life for You.”

38അതിന്നു യേശു: നിന്റെ ജീവനെ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി വെച്ചുകളയുമോ? ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു: നീ മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം എന്നെ തള്ളിപ്പറയുവോളം കോഴി കൂകുകയില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.“Will you lay down your life for Me?” Jesus replied. “Truly, truly, I tell you, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.
