1“तुमच्या नीतिमत्वाचे आचरण लोकांसमोर न करण्याची काळजी घ्या. कारण तसे केल्याने तुमच्या स्वर्गीय पित्यापासून मिळणार्या प्रतिफळास तुम्ही मुकाल.“Be careful not to perform your righteous acts before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward.

5“तुम्ही प्रार्थना करताना ढोंग्यासारखे होऊ नका, रस्त्यांच्या कोपर्यात किंवा सभागृहांमध्ये उभे राहून, दुसर्यांना दिसावे म्हणून प्रार्थना करण्यास त्यांना आवडते. मी तुम्हाला खचित सांगतो की, ते आपले प्रतिफळ भरून पावले आहेत.And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward.

And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

9“तर, तुम्ही याप्रमाणे प्रार्थना करीत जा: “ ‘हे आमच्या स्वर्गातील पित्या, तुमचे नाव पवित्र मानिले जावो,So then, this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.

10तुमचे राज्य येवो, जशी स्वर्गात तशीच पृथ्वीवरही, तुमची इच्छा पूर्ण होवो.Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

11आमची रोजची भाकर आज आम्हाला द्या.Give us this day our daily bread.

12आणि जशी आम्ही आमच्या अपराध्यांस क्षमा केली आहे, तशी तुम्ही आमच्या अपराधांची क्षमा करा.And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13आणि आम्हास परीक्षेत आणू नका, परंतु त्या दुष्टापासून आम्हास सोडवा. कारण की राज्य, सामर्थ्य आणि गौरव हे सर्वकाळ तुमचेच आहेत. आमेन’And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

16“तुम्ही उपास करता त्यावेळी, ढोंग्याप्रमाणे उदास चेहरा करू नका. आपण उपास करीत आहोत असे लोकांना दाखविण्यासाठी ते कोमेजलेल्या चेहर्यांनी वावरतात. मी तुम्हाला खरोखरच सांगतो की, त्यांचे संपूर्ण प्रतिफळ त्यांना मिळून चुकले आहे.When you fast, do not be somber like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward.

17तुम्ही उपास करता तेव्हा डोक्याला तेल लावा व आपले तोंड धुवा,But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,

18म्हणजे तुम्ही उपास करीत आहात असे लोकांना समजणार नाही. पण केवळ तुमच्या अदृश्य पित्याला समजेल आणि मग तुमचा पिता जे तुम्ही गुप्त प्रकारे केलेल्या गोष्टी पाहतात ते तुम्हाला प्रतिफळ देतील.so that your fasting will not be obvious to men, but only to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

19“तुमची धनसंपत्ती तुम्ही पृथ्वीवर साठवून ठेवू नका, कारण तिथे तिला कसर लागून, गंजून तिचा नाश होतो. शिवाय चोरही ती लुटून नेतात.Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

20पण तुमची धनसंपत्ती स्वतःसाठी स्वर्गामध्ये साठवून ठेवा. कारण तिथे तिला कसर लागत नाही व ती गंजून जात नाही, तिचा नाश होत नाही आणि चोरही ती लुटून नेत नाहीत.But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

21कारण जिथे तुमची संपत्ती आहे, तिथे तुमचे मनही असेल.For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

22“डोळा शरीराचा दिवा आहे. तुझे डोळे निर्दोष असले, तर सर्व शरीरही प्रकाशमय होईल.The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.

23पण तुमचे डोळे दोषपूर्ण असले, तर तुमचे संपूर्ण शरीर अंधाराने भरून जाईल. म्हणून तुमच्यातील प्रकाशच जर अंधार असला, तर तो अंधार केवढा मोठा!But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

24“कोणी दोन धन्यांची चाकरी करू शकत नाही. तुम्ही एकाचा द्वेष कराल आणि दुसर्यावर प्रीती कराल किंवा एकाला समर्पित असाल आणि दुसर्याला तुच्छ मानाल. तुम्हाला परमेश्वराची आणि धनाची सेवा एकाच वेळी करता येणार नाही.No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

25“मी तुम्हाला सांगतो, आपण काय खावे, किंवा काय प्यावे अशी आपल्या जिवाविषयी, किंवा आपण काय पांघरावे अशी आपल्या शरीराविषयी काळजी करू नका. अन्नापेक्षा जीव आणि वस्त्रांपेक्षा शरीर अधिक महत्त्वाचे नाही काय?Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

26आकाशातील पाखरांकडे पाहा; ते धान्य पेरीत नाही, कापणी करीत नाही व कोठारात साठवित नाही आणि तरी देखील तुमचे स्वर्गीय पिता त्यांना खायला घालतात. तुम्ही त्यांच्यापेक्षा कितीतरी अधिक मोलवान नाही का?Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

27शिवाय काळजी करून आयुष्यातील एक तास तरी कोणास वाढविता येईल काय?Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

28“आणि तुम्ही वस्त्राविषयी काळजी का करावी? रानातील फुले कशी वाढतात हे पाहा. ती कष्ट करीत नाहीत किंवा कातीत नाहीत.And why do you worry about clothes? Consider how the lilies of the field grow: They do not labor or spin.

29तरी मी तुम्हाला सांगतो की शलोमोनदेखील आपल्या सर्व वैभवात त्यांच्याइतका नटला नव्हता.Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these.

30जे आज आहे आणि उद्या अग्नीत टाकले जाते, त्या गवताला जर परमेश्वर असा पोशाख घालतात, तर अहो अल्पविश्वासी, ते तुम्हाला अधिक विशेष पोशाख घालणार नाहीत काय?If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31म्हणून ‘आम्ही काय खाणार?’ किंवा ‘आम्ही काय पिणार?’ किंवा ‘आम्ही काय पांघरावे?’ असे म्हणत काळजी करू नका.Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32कारण परकीय लोक या गोष्टींच्या मागे लागतात, आणि तुम्हाला या गोष्टींची गरज आहे, हे तुमच्या स्वर्गातील पित्याला माहीत आहे.For the Gentiles strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

33परंतु तुम्ही प्रथम त्यांचे राज्य आणि नीतिमत्व मिळविण्यासाठी झटा म्हणजे या सर्व गोष्टीही तुम्हाला प्राप्त होतील.But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

34म्हणून उद्याच्या गोष्टींची चिंता करू नका, उद्याची चिंता उद्या, प्रत्येक दिवसाचा त्रास त्या दिवसासाठी पुरेसा आहे.Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.
