1. 1MFMNaja kǝra tsu wu dzuguya duniya aˈyi ja, kǝra a nggari ˈya, ǝnga a lar ˈya ǝnga liya ˈya, ǝnga a tsambiyar ˈya tsu, ǝnga a tsǝkwar ˈya ǝnga tsa ˈya, sǝ kau ca nga ˈya vǝr na ar kǝra ndǝr nǝ pi.BSBBSB: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have gazed upon and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life.
2. 2MFMPi kau, a cabiyar kǝr ar babal, a lar ˈya, ǝnga a sakidar ˈya tsu, ǝnga ca nga ˈya vǝr hǝˈwau anǝ hyi abǝr naja ngǝ Ndǝr Pi nǝ baˈanuwa, kǝra ǝnga Tada nga ja, a canǝ ˈyar ja dzau.BSBBSB: And this is the life that was revealed; we have seen it and testified to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.
3. 3MFMNajaka hǝˈwa sǝ kǝra ˈya vǝr mǝl anǝ hyi a nggari ˈya, ǝnga a lari ˈya tsu, aga nahyi tsu, hya sa daɓǝr dzǝ ǝnga ˈya. Daɓǝ dzǝr mǝn tsu ara Tada ǝnga Zǝr nyi Yesu Kǝrsiti nga nyi.BSBBSB: We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
4. 4MFMNajaka tsǝfǝ kǝra ˈyi tsǝfǝ anǝ hyi aga cagulir ˈya a nyabiya dzau.BSBBSB: We write these things so that our joy may be complete.
5. 5MFMNajakau ca ngǝ cama kǝra ˈyi nggari sara ara ja, naˈya tsu, ˈyi hǝˈwuna hyi, abǝr Hyal ngǝ mbǝmbǝl, kuthlǝu aˈyi wu ja alaga kushi mai.BSBBSB: And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6. 6MFMAgabangau ma mǝn na abǝr mǝna vǝr daɓǝr dzǝ ǝnga Hyal, ama tsu mǝna vǝr ɓau wu kuthlǝu, a cabiyari abǝr njir thla fati nga mǝn, namǝn aˈyi a vǝr nu jiri mai.BSBBSB: If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7. 7MFMMa mǝn nggya wu mbǝmbǝl, ǝnggǝr kǝra ja wu mbǝmbǝl, a vǝr nggya mǝn wu daɓǝ dzǝ ǝnga kǝrmǝn, mashi Zǝr nyi Yesu tsu, ja cina mǝn sara wu kalar bikau.BSBBSB: But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8. 8MFMMa mǝn na abǝr bikǝ aˈyi ara mǝn mai, kǝrmǝn nga mǝna vǝr ngguta, jiri tsu aˈyi wu mǝn mai.BSBBSB: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9. 9MFMMa mǝn nana bikǝr mǝn anǝ Hyal, naja ndǝ tsaˈa miya ɗǝfu ngau, ǝnga naja ndǝ tsapǝ ngau, ba ja tǝfǝbiya mǝn bikǝr mǝn, ja dzǝgwa cina mǝn sara wu kalar ɗǝmwaˈyikurǝr mǝn.BSBBSB: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10. 10MFMMa mǝn na abǝr namǝn aˈyi mǝliya bikǝ mai, a cabiyar mǝn abǝr Hyal ndǝr thla fati nga ja, ǝnga ndǝr nyi tsu aˈyi a wu ɗǝfuwa mǝn mai.BSBBSB: If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.
