1. 1MFXEቲናፕ አይኪ የዝ፥ ደኦ ቃላይ ባጋ ኑ ይንትስ ጻፍዛ። Ꮊ ደኦ ቃላይ ኑ ኑ ሀየር ስኤዝ፥ ኑ ኣፈር በኤዝ፥ ኑ ኩሸር አይኬዛያ።BSBBSB: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have gazed upon and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life.
2. 2MFXEየ ደኦ እንግዛይ ቆንጭን፥ ኑኒ ኤዛ ብኢ፥ ኤባዝ ማርካትዛ። አዳይ ካለ የዛይ ኑስ ቆንጬዝ፥ መꬍና ደኦባጋ ይንትስ ኦዶዳ።BSBBSB: And this is the life that was revealed; we have seen it and testified to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.
3. 3MFXEኑራ ይንትስ ፐትፐትꬂ የዞዳይ ጋርክ ኑኒ በኤዛናኔ ስኤዛና ይንትስ ኦዶዳ። ኑ ፐትፐትꬃይ አዳይራኔ ኤ ናአ የሱስ ክርስቶሳር ዎላ።BSBBSB: We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
4. 4MFXEኑ ኡፋይሳይ ፎሎ ማቆዳይ ጋርክ Ꮊያ ይንትስ ኑ ጻፎዳ።BSBBSB: We write these things so that our joy may be complete.
5. 5MFXEኑኒ ኤፕ ስኢ፥ ይንትስ ኦድዛ ኪታይ፦ «ጾሲ ፖኦ፤ ኤዛር ꬉማ የሻ ባያ» ዬግዛያ።BSBBSB: And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6. 6MFXEኑስ ኤዛር ፐትፐተꬂ የዛ ዬግታር ኑ ꬉማ የዝኮ፥ ኑኒ ዎርዶትዛ። ቱማካ ኑር ባያ።BSBBSB: If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7. 7MFXEዝን ኤ ፖኦ የዛይ ጋርክ፥ ኑካ ፖኦ የዝኮ፥ ኑስ ዎል ጋንጨ ፐትፐተꬂ የዛ። ኤ ናአ፥ የሱሳ ሱꬃይ ናጋራ ኡባይፕ ኑና ጌሽዛ።BSBBSB: But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8. 8MFXEኑኒ፥ ኑር ናጋራ ባያ ጊኮ ኑ ኑና ዶሽዛ፤ ኑር ቱማትꬅካ ባያ።BSBBSB: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9. 9MFXEዝን ጾሳይስ ኑ ናጋራ ቡጽኮ፥ ኤ ኑ ናጋራ አቶ ጎዳይስኔ ኑ ቆሆ ኦሶ ኡባይፕ ኑና ጌሾዳይስ፥ አማንንቴዛያኔ ጌሻ።BSBBSB: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10. 10MFXEኑኒ ናጋራ ኦꬄካ ጊኮ ጾሳና ዎርዶ ከስዛ፤ ኤ ቃላይካ ኑር ባያ።BSBBSB: If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.
